Seems like just about the same amount of people even if they did increase the capacity to 40? There were always at least 20-28 on the sessions and seems to be about the same.

Well this was a first for me. Some rank 25 with a horse full of pelts went by me and a couple friends standing around armadillo. We didn't have guns out and were just looking at our other friends new outfit. Dude starts shooting at us, kills my horse and almost me as I was surprised he was shooting as I walked by him earlier with no incident. Of course cuz I had my PVP set up ready, I pulled out a dynamite arrow and blew him and his horse up. He kept coming back a couple times before he just parley and left the session.
More often than not it's the low ranks doing sh*t like that. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't by accident cuz he fired about 7 times.

ok I will give the that. Besides I did get my money out of the story part. It was fantastic so nothing lost really.
See that's how I feel. Online is just extra. I got a good month-ish of gameplay from single player and I don't regret buying the game. Now for those that only bought the game for online, then.... welp. 😐

Or Rockstar could just come up with a real solution, stop players from wanting to grief.
It's human nature. If people can get away with something, they will definitely try.

On this point i couldn't agree with you more. I have submitted to R* quite a few times. Im sure they are just putting them in trash bin as soon as they find out who sent them. It is too bad in my opinion as this game has great potential and maybe they will fix it someday I dunno. I am a big fan of GTAO but in that game at least they let you grind up to a respectable level before they threw you to the wolves so at least it would be fair. Oh well enough rant. Again I apologize I didn't mean to offend, just had a few rough sessions and am freshly p****d off.
I at least agree they need to make it so they match low ranks together with each other at least. Most of the mmos I've played they leave the younglings alone up until like 20-30 or so. And yes I had a bad session last night with people chasing me all over the map and me forgetting that there's parley (because I rarely run into super persistent people). I am fine though.
I'm just used to this type of pvp, so that's why I'm so comfortable with it. People tried for 7 years with my other mmo to get the game changed to suit everyone pvp and pve. And it just went further and further down the drain largely because of it.

Then I am gone. The only problem with that is that you guys loose all your cannon fodder. Then maybe it won't be quite as easy for you. I am just saying that why can't they fix this so everyone wins. They have the ability but won't implement it. If you take offense in what I am saying then I am sorry. I don't have a beef with the way that you want to play why do you have one with mine?
I'm not offended in anyway, just tired of hearing the same argument over and over again. You can submit suggestions and stuff to rockstar, but ultimately it's up to them. If they don't want to, then they won't.

Thanks for advise. Gee why didn't I think of that. I think that all forms of play can be accommodated. There are grivers(back shooters), and there are true pvp(no auto aim) and there are content players. So we should all have to adapt to one form of game play in your book which will not be enough of a player base to keep R* developing. Im sorry but I paid just as much money as you to play this game as advertised which is not what I am receiving at this point. So why the hell do you think that I should be forced to play your way versus mine.
And if they don't change things to how you want? Then what?

Again, it comes back to what Rockstar wants in their game.
If you kill me and it was unprovoked, I view that as griefing. What I'm hearing from some is that "It's okay if they kill you once, as long as they don't KEEP killing you."
To me, it's griefing if you do it once.
You feel that someone should have to "even ask me to leave them be"? (Though you said "ask" I initially typed "beg" instead of "ask" because I pretty much see that as the same thing.)
Sorry, I don't think that's appropriate.
But Rockstar needs to be clearer about what their game is to be. I certainly didn't buy a game where I considered a "fun and fair environment" would be one where I would have to beg--sorry, ask--for someone not to shoot me when I'm minding my own business.
There are plenty of games that manage to easily accomplish this and they've done it for years. Again, it goes back to Rockstar being honest about what this game/beta is supposed to be.
If they keep coming back for me, I'm going to keep obliging. I've had people pre-emptively ask or tell me or my posse to leave them alone if we were nearby. I'm not saying we gun over to a low rank to mess with them. But they simply politely stated what they were doing and we told them we weren't doing nothing other than hunting/missions ourselves. So now that we know the intentions we go about our way. I've walked by several people and left them be only for them to shoot me in the back too. So you're not really innocent, anyone that walks by could shoot you. That's just the reality of it when there's pvp in a game.
I once was just crab walking around St Denis and somewhat following a guy, no guns out, just crab walking to be weird. He pulls a gun on me and shoots at me, would he be a griefer?
-
That's because people that don't like pvp see pvp as griefing. They want matched only pvp. If they didn't want to be killed in a game or the risk of, then play a pve game. I know the pve bunnies from hell are gonna rain down on me, but no one forcing you to play. And if there are other games that pull off the toggle pvp or whatever to "please everyone" and WANT to do that, then go play them then.

While I play just about all of the quality titles (I play on the three consoles and PC), I believe the games that I play the most are multiplayer as in the Battlefields, The Division, FFXIV, Guild Wars 2, etc. But there are actual rules that keep gameplay in check. For instance, since I purchased Red Dead Online on the Pro, I've blocked over 100 people on PSN. I don't believe I had blocked anyone previously. I solo in all those games because I'm also not the most social of people and I will drop the controller/keyboard in a second if something in real life occurs so I wouldn't want to screw up a team that was relying on me (oddly enough, those blocked people on PSN I would love to encounter adversarially in the Battlefield games). Oh, and for those of you who will understand this, I've never been in the Dark Zone.
My worst experience with the blip system occurred when I was half watching the map and seeing nothing as I decided to go from Tumbleweed to Valentine, I believe. I kept checking. seeing nothing, checking, seeing nothing, checking, seeing nothing. I guess I got lulled into a false feeling of security (and that is the only thing the blip system does in my opinion) because all of a sudden there was someone going the other way on the road taking shots at me. Instinctively, I sped up and was able to get away and I took that as a win. Typically, I don't run, I just take the death, report the person, block the person and then send Rockstar feedback with the person's name telling them how I was minding my own business and ask them what they are doing to ensure I can play in a "fun and fair environment" where Rockstar also said I could solo.
See that right there isn't griefing in my opinion. That's just a part of the game despite what Rockstar may say about a 'fun fair environment'. To me that's just a normal part of red dead. Now if that person had turned around, followed you and wouldn't let you be even after clearly leaving the area. Then THAT would have been what I call griefing. Or like before the update, if you killed someone and they left the session to another, you could follow them and keep it up.
But someone shooting at you for no reason? Nah. NPCs do much the same thing. Hell they get aggressive if you stand too close to them sometimes.
I'm not gonna say I'm a saint, I've shot at and killed randoms for no reason other than shenanigans. But if they run away or even ask me to leave them be, I'll leave them alone and I never do it to a lowbie.

Yes, it's some of our fellow gamers who are doing what they can to ruin the experience for others but the fault ultimately lies with Rockstar. They shouldn't promise one thing and then take no steps to guarantee what they promised. (Sorry, but those blips equal absolutely nothing for me.)
I say multiplayer games as I'm not a people person and I quit my last mmo cuz I can't stand people most of the time (even irl).
But in my experience with the blip system I think it's helping to a degree, not exactly as was intended but it's not entirely useless. I've noticed people are less on edge, even stopping to say hello or hunting in the same area and minding their own. 95% of the time a dark blue dot is around they are friendly. Every other color, purple and dark red were what they were, hostile.
In the instance that happened yesterday, that posse was up in Van Horn and I was in Rhodes, so I was fine. But by the time I got my wolf for the mission and was at the post office waiting it out, they had come to where I was. Stood there right in front of me with guns out. One guy even stole the bird off my horse I forgot about and sold it (didn't mind it cuz it was only 1.75). There were at least 5 other dark blue people not in the safe zone, there were at least 2-3 purples to hanging around. But why me?
Killing people is fine and all but don't call it pvp when you're standing around for 15 minutes waiting to shoot someone fresh out of a cutscene who isn't able to immediately defend themselves. Then proceed to chase the red glow across the map when I've clearly fast travelled twice to get away from you.

If you're speaking to me specifically, no. Not until more content releases. I can't speak for others though.
Even so. I'm that instance, there were clearly other people around us that were outside of the safe zone they could have killed. But they waited 15 minutes just to mess with us. I've personally only felt "griefed" twice in my time here and that was one of them. I am clearly running away there are others who would love to fight, so why target?
And no not you specifically as I don't think you fall in the same category as these people, but I don't understand the reasoning behind something like that. I do appreciate the input though. I don't mind being killed, that's part of the game. It's when you go out of your way to keep someone else from playing the game.
But I don't like being targeted for no reason. The other instance was someone literally following me from session to session.

That sucks. The map changes are useful to some degree, but they could definitely use some changes.
I'm not usually bothered by this stuff, but sh*t like that makes me question why I play multiplayer games. I know y'all wanna play how you want, but there's a fine line you cross when you go way out of your way to harass someone when they obviously don't want to be bothered. Yeah I could have parley, I forget that's a thing cuz I don't usually run across people that disgustingly persistent. Like do you have nothing better to do?

So much for lack of griefing. You stay bright red to griefers for a super long time and they can just follow the red glow and find you. One did earlier when they waited 15mins for me to finish a mission, then killed me as soon as I got out of the cutscene. They called it pvp, I told them it aint pvp if you just waitin to shoot someone in the back. I went back and blew them all up and two chased me from Rhodes all the way out to manzanita in tall trees. I fast traveled and thought that was the end of it, that's why I didn't parley, but they followed me twice.
And it's shitty that when someone shoots at you, they only stay red for a couple minutes sometimes allowing them to go out of range then shoot at you again, but these guys stayed red for like 15mins or so.

I can only speak from my own experience but we haven't really had any issues so far with griefers. .....but then again, we tend to avoid those colored threats on the map. I also find they are also much easier to evade once they have you in their sights as we can now use terrain and distance to disappear from their radar. I did that with the guy I had to kill the other night.
Just a little note, but you can be tracked via eagle eye. I'm not sure for how far, but I noticed that when someone shot at me then ran. He was just far enough I couldn't see him on the map. Saw the trail and followed in the general direction and he thought he was clear so he wasn't moving.
And yeah someone saw me crash my mission wagon and didn't even try to kill me or mess with the mission. He just kept skinning the wolves he apparently just killed. I was honestly surprised, but still hurried out of there just in case he changed his mind lol.

Have you died while hunting? I'm curious if we still lose the pelts on the horse.
I don't know about dying. But my posse member's horse was left at emerald station and we were about 3/4 of the way to Hamish (o'creaghs run), and his horse eventually caught up with him and it still had the pelts. I was honestly surprised, I thought it would have despawned or at least the pelts would be gone. Also when the mission ended, pelt still there and not on the ground where the horse last was.

We went hunting last night in my favorite spot and there were plenty of birds, deer, little critters and even more exotic animals to be had. I loaded up like I normally do and rode into town. With meat, feathers, horns/antlers, pelts, whole carcasses and other bits my payout was what it normally is for that amount of time I spent in the field.
To be honest, I find hunting just as lucrative as I did before. What I really like is that I'm now being paid for pelt that I didn't used to get money for due to a bug. I wasn't losing a lot but it all adds up.
If there is a way to do it that works well, I agree.
Personally, I don't have as much of a problem with the bounty system as some do. I've had a posse member get killed by a low level player we crossed paths with (likely just scared). I shot them with my shotgun riding up behind my team mate. Instant kill and a 20 cent bounty. We simply rode on. ....I paid the bounty at a later time when filling up with ammo at the post office.
Something else I found interesting is when I was riding the train through Saint Denis, I heard shooting and then a posse jumped on board with me. They knew I was there but didn't approach. They were being chased by lawmen / posses. I don't know how many they killed (it was a lot) but they never turned dark red like continual murderers do.
I dunno..... Seems to me you have to do a lot to get a higher bounty on your head whether that's indiscriminately killing fellow players or vigorously defending yourself. So far, I don't have a problem. Also, griefers have almost been a non existent problem for us since the update so far. ......which is great in my book.
For a couple of our members, it's usually defending ourselves real hard. Then it just wracked I'll for one of them by continually killing the bounty hunters and random npcs. He didn't want to pay it so now I'm sure he's dark red. Like mad said, natural deterrent. And yeah I haven't really had any problem with griefing since the update. Even a guy I killed a few times, we just rode by each other a few minutes later and nothing happened (stubborn dude kept dying but wouldn't parley, I was personally only killing him cuz he shot at me and there was the daily).
Like I said before, people seem more friendly but that could change.

I think im done screaming .. Just too much work. They need to put someone in charge that knows what they are doing. I could do a better job, without even trying.
So after spending a night with a bounty.. This what I've seen.
Bounty hunters killing players doesn't even remove the bounty. (Swore it did, but nope). They just kill players, leave, and come back again in 5-10 mins.
Bounty hunters spawn out of thin air. Sometimes even spawn behind each other. So ONE bounty hunter turns in to 5 in a few seconds. Its as BAD as GTA O cops. Like they are entering through a magical portal.
Bounty hunters can sometimes just magically spawn on top of players after finishing a mission.. right as you spawn back into free roam.
I must have killed over 300 bounty hunters last night in just a few hours. I don't see the point of paying off the bounty, since i'll just end up getting another one.
Like holy sh*t R*. Just add damn private lobbies, Leave Free Roam alone. And add a FREE AIM!.
Remove your stupid show down modes. Add shoot outs and team shoot outs. Then go play drip feed the clothing/items game to milk your player base.
Is R* hiring someone to run this sh*t show? I'll do it for free. Unless R* plan is to annoy all apsects of their player base
I saw the bounty hunter thing actually force a mission to end just so it could start. Like it cancelled it out. And the dude who had the bounty was like okay lemme get rid of this. Cuz the leader was kinda irritated and would have kicked him if he didn't get rid of it.
And I only say scream cuz before I started online, I remember hearing the playerbase scream real hard at the prices of items and the low output of rewards from missions. And I think it got changed pretty fast, well fast for Rockstar.

Animal fat really isn't all that hard to come by. You can get it from pigs, ducks and geese. All are quite plentiful in the game.
Well aware of that. Just don't want to always be looking for it. And if you get into big gun fights often you'll burn through those 10 rounds per gun. I'm the type that likes to stay ready for anything.

I did not know that. That number seems very low and should be raised significantly for when the game exits Beta, imo.
Same. Now Divison 2 Premium credits on the other hand...
I'm not bothered by it either. The free gold bars were/are much appreciated. But I equate the pittance of items that they distributed to the "goodie" bags that are distributed at kids' birthday parties. As Mrs. Creed has so eloquently stated on many occasions, "great, another bag of crap to take up space." My kids don't need a sandwich bag full of animal and food shaped erasers, wrist bands, or glow sticks that we're going to end up throwing out eventually anyways.
I really hope they don't raise the number of explosive rounds you can carry. Then every asshole would just use those as they are a one shot kill. Limiting the amount that you can carry is helping you and making sure those griefers everyone hates think hard before using them. As they require animal fat and only a certain few animals give that. Only time I use mine are on missions when other high levels are after me, or during assassinations. As I don't want to constantly be trying refill them. I chose carefully who I use them on. Feel special if a high level uses them on you, means you pissed them off or you pose a real threat to them lol.
Also I've had a few nice encounters with other high levels who were looking for animal fat in the heartland overflow and it was peaceful. One guy even came over and gave me what he couldn't take.
And they could have just as easily not given us anything. Free is free, less work I have to do even if I can make them myself.

Any of y'all notice how easily it is to become overweight in the game now? Before it was near impossible to not be underweight, now most of my friends characters are thicc bois and girls (except me cuz I'm more worried about the ring than the core).
