Also just gonna throw this out there. But even if you get far enough away to not show up on the map. You can still be tracked via eagle eye. I noticed this when someone shot at me then ran. Thought he was long gone but he was just out of sight thinking he was good. Found him and took him out. Now I'm not sure how far your tracks can last, but many forget that you leave a scent trail just like every other animal.

Now if only they could allow female characters to have.... boobs. I'm no guy, but I do wish my character had a couple bra sizes on her instead of looking like a really feminine man with a nice butt.

Next time you hog time him, put him on his horse (I do this every time a posse member goes afk) and tell the horse to flee. It'll run around the map by itself and people will think he's riding for them. 😎
I kinda figured that happened cuz something similar happened. I was semi afk in the back of an open wagon and someone was shooting and the wagon took off with me in it. Came back and I was down by the river off Valentine. So I tested and shot my Schofield off a few times and lo and behold it took me off somewhere else.

I agree totally, not a fan of being penalized for a posse member. One of my guys' honor hasn't been good since online launched, but it's from killing npcs, not players. He's been temporarily removed from the posse until he grinds his way out. We shouldn't be listed as a bad posse because of that. Since we are still in beta, R* can/will look into tweaking the parameters, hopefully they do.
Here's a thought; any trolls are most likely going to go after blue dots (possible easy target) when they see them and avoid the red dots (because red dots fire back). So having a red dot might be natural troll repellent. Plus, you'd get a potential XP bonus delivered to you every 15 minutes in the form of the NPC bounty hunters..lol
Yeah that's what was happening. More often than not people ran from him, even purple dots. He'd walk up to people with no guns and waving and they run or once or twice shot a couple times while running away. And it was kinda fun when he went afk and we had to protect him. Hog-tied him put him on my horse, then relayed him to another posse member for escape.

Well, considering the extensive changes they made yesterday to mechanics/dead eye/ability cards/ weapons, etc, BETA is probably still the best things to call it. Finished games don't get such sweeping changes all at once. I expect to see this a few more times before they remove the BETA tag from the game as they try to find the right way to balance things.
Even seasoned games still get big changes. Again, I state, other dedicated MMOs (no story mode, straight PC mmo) I've played have stayed in beta/alpha mode for a whole year before taking the beta tag off. Console gamers need to chill man.
Also, horse bonding still resets but not as often. I do like that my horses don't come to me with red cores anymore. That's a start. Cuz if I tried to use my other horses, they all will start doing it. I'd have to stick to just one for it to not happen after awhile.
And idk if it was people were too preoccupied. But people seemed more friendly and less trigger happy yesterday than before. There was a whole gathering of people in Valentine and blackwater just chilling and it was pretty cool.

My only issue is that being in a posse with a member who's red makes everyone have a bounty. And then get attacked by hunters every 10-15 minutes it seems. Or just the law in general is way more triggered than before.
Also during assassinations I don't get why the blip thing still applies. You have to go into the actual map to see the person. Can't track via mini map. It's a mission so I don't see why the same rules apply.
Also the amount of time it takes for someone to go back to dark blue from bright red after they shot at or killed you is like... a couple minutes, which is ridiculous. Or someone will stay bright red for an hour even though we're no where near each other nor shot at it killed one another.
It's funny though, having my friend in the posse who wanted to keep his bounty (he isn't a griefer, but he will go after anyone that messes with us), more often than not people will run away from him long before he gets near. And he's one of the friendliest members too, kinda made him sad cuz he likes to make friends with randoms despite the risk of dying.

I have noticed they been sneaking in some stuff. Yesterday we did a couple free roam missions we've never done, and believe me we are constantly doing missions and have seen every variant. Then there were missions that would just suddenly end on us.

I assume you've not come across the posses who hunt down, non ' white' players and women? Or maybe your one of them.
To be fair I've not heard of posses who do that. But then again I'm almost never in game chat and I get way too antsy when there's more than a few people around me solo.
Just because he hasn't heard of them doesn't mean he's one of them. Kinda messed up to assume as such. I didn't think people were being that shitty.
-
I mean at least he didn't follow you from session to session trying to kill you and screw up your missions and basically trying to keep you from doing anything all because he ASSUMED you killed him even though you told him several times and he wouldn't listen. Only way he stopped was when we brought him to one of our super trigger happy friends who is just as persistent as he was. All the while this guy was jus mumbling insults the entire time. Blocking him didn't keep him from following us and we all reported him and hopefully something was done, but I hope I never see him again.
And then idk why people get so butt hurt when they are killed for a player/posse assassination. This 6 man posse got so mad they called in 5 extra people to try to kill us afterwards. Happens almost every single time we have to do those types of missions. There was 6 of us but only 4 of us were high rank, the other two were ranks 9-12. So we were outnumbered and trying to move on but they surrounded us and we just hopped sessions. Thankfully they didn't follow.

Their is a passive ability that ignores the first headshot if you're wearing a hat. I didn't upgrade it, chose others instead and just don't want to spend cash till after update, so don't know if you get 3 on a tier 3 passive. although their been a couple of guys I've hit the head continuously and nothing happens (until they shoot me dead)
I'm pretty sure, or least come to the conclusion, the semi invisible players I've been seeing are peeps using the passive glitch or not just people respawning after grief but have something to do with bugs/server latency or something. When people move they sometimes go invisible on me, their blip is in the wrong place and have a list of bugs that I've reported to R*.
I just think game is buggy as they do work behind the scenes .
Yesterday I could hit a man in the head with an express loads out of the Springfield rifle point blank and nothing would happen. Animals been scarce for me too as others have reported
"Never without one", the hat card, only allows for 1 headshot and the hat falls off. Even at level 3 it's still one, and then reduced damage.
Then there is "slow and steady", which allows headshots don't kill you outright WHILE in deadeye.
Then there is "slippery bastard", while in deadeye, enemies can't lock on to you and the user can't lock on to anyone. Reduces the accuracy of enemies.
I've also seen people be invisible but they can still attack me but not them. I think sometimes it's a glitch and other times it's.... something else. My posse leader was glitched for me and a few others, he was greyed out. But some of the other posse could see him just fine.

Bought a new router to see if I could eliminate the disconnect issue...that seems to have worked! Yea!
However, now within 10 minutes of spawning my game freezes with a buzzing sound followed by a crash to the Xbox home screen. One issue replaced with another one.
New ticket submitted to R*.
I still have no horse, no animals, no NPCs...and now the crashes to go along with it all.
I think I'll discontinue my testing services to R* until they either give me something for my lost time or they put out a fix that resolves all of my issues. Becoming a grand waste of my time to even launch this game.
Pretty sure it's an xbox issue, cuz those of us on PS4 aren't having the same problem. Yeah sure disconnects, but no animals/npcs and what not? I saw an article about it I'm sure rockstar knows about it.

I personally haven't really seen any problems my end.
I got kicked off the servers a couple of weekends ago about twice but nothing since.
A mate today asked me if I'd seen any ship wrecks?
When I said no, his reply was that they were just spawning everywhere in fields and on roads.
I wish I'd got to see that.
I've seen this happen a few times. Even got a screenshot. Bunch of boats randomly spawning on the road and on bridges,

I know its NOT optimal, and not a long sighted solver, but if you want to minimize the connection issues, try DMZ your PS4 IP on your router..
This solved my problem - and have not been disconnected since then.I tried this when I got home, was on for 3 hours and not one disconnect so far. Thanks my dude, saved me so much stress.

Man I wish I had stuff like a tablet as a kid ~ Although I did have legos and hotwheels and my first computer at 8 years old.

I honestly chose the military one simply because I can go inside it, don't need to sit. I didn't like the original one cuz I didn't wanna see skins and animal pieces. I mean if I could decorate the inside with stuff I actually killed, then I'd go for it, but otherwise nah.

No problem.
I likely won't be on tonight or if I am, it will be late. My wife is hosting an event with local Moms so my kid and I will be making ourselves scarce upstairs.
Normally I'm on about 8PM PST until about 11PM. .....sometimes longer depending on who is on, how I feel, etc.
No worries, just shoot me a psn message if you log or spawn next to me or somethin. I'll likely be on since this is the only time I can stay up late with these youngins who stay up until 4am lol.
Is... is she hosting a pajama party with wine? Cuz I'm down for that.

No joke. I hope it continues through the weekend.
If you're serious, send me a PSN friend req. I don't mind teaming up and hunting. I have no idea what triggers these anomalies but at the very least, I have no issue with animals not spawning. ......so far.
btw, the Big Valley in NW West Elizabeth is always ripe with animals regardless for me. We run back and forth down that valley and kill herds, birds, etc. and then make a run to Strawberry to unload. You can see for quite a distance either way from West to East. .....sometimes a gang hideout will spawn at the ranch near there as well.
Safety in numbers man. Yesterday was not my day for solo play either, seemed like every high rank wanted a piece of me.
And yeah I'll hit ya up in a few minutes or so, I'm almost home and will have the weekend to play whenever. Ngl, that area is one of my favorites just because of how pretty it is.

....or something like that.

Seriously though, I've been witnessing duplicate or triplicate of dogs in town, NPCs/shopkeepers and last night while in Tumbleweed, even the Sheriff was duplicated while the dialogue played for a side mission. Really weird.
Flocks of birds would sometimes be doubled, etc.
Don't mind if I spawn next to you for some easy huntin. Trying to save up for that update aye.

My main issues is being disconnected every seemingly 20-30 minutes. At first it was my internet's WiFi but I switched to lan and thought that fixed it. So my end is secure just Rockstar needs to fix that sh*t asap. I've lost out on so much sh*t cuz of it.
Other issue is horse bonding resetting. Noticed it happens way more frequently if you're in a big posse which I often am. Solo it might reset once every few hours.
Oh and missions either straight up not starting or they change after you take it but then the NPCs says he has nothing for you. Or when someone disconnects with the wagon/carcass/pelt/etc and it, although rarely, will end the entire mission.

Great comments. I debated this a ton and my experience suggests Renascent is bang on. For those still debating here's my two bits. This is based on my gaming style which on free roam is a lot of moseying around hunting away from other players. I posse up to do missions and in a fight prefer horseback kills over being on foot.
Arabian - So done with this horse. Stats look great, colors are good, and the horse runs fast, accelerates well, and turns on a dime. They are also super skittish which is so annoying, and they're tiny and seem to trip on the smallest rock to send me flying.
Fox Trotter - No brainer upgrade to the Arabian. Faster and I think just as agile and responsive. Great stamina and speed, this horse just loves to run which on missions is 90% of what I need my horse to do. I think my silver dapple (Miss HorseFace) looks decent with her natural flowing white mane & tail. Bigger than the Arabian she has become my "go to" horse when I posse up. I almost always get to the destination first, clear most of the enemy, and that's on top of stopping to skin a deer on the way! The only downside is if I'm on foot in a gun battle she'll take off on me, and she does still trip now and then and send me flying.
Turkoman - This horse definitely offers the full package. Excellent speed, stamina, health. Big enough to stay on its feet and keep me in the saddle. Brave as a tank, whether its wolves or enemies not much will make it flinch. My Dark Bay (Stinky Magoo) has bucked me out a couple times, but he's totally dependable and tough as nails and when I'm moseying around in Free Roam mode he's my horse. He doesn't turn quite as quickly and is just a smidge slower than the Fox Trotter or he'd be the only horse I'd own.
Arabian = Show, Fox Trotter = Speed, Turkoman = Strength
I just wish I could see Miss HorseFace and Stinky Magoo both hitched up at my camp at the same time.
Idk if it's just personal preference or not. But my foxtrotter seems made of steel. I survive sh*t I normally die on with any other horse. She had swam across rivers and off an island for me. Took 2 shotgun blasts in the face and not died allowing me to live long enough to take out the dude (he was using double sawed off). And in a gun fight not on my horse, she almost always sticks right on me. She's saved my ass more times than I can count. Like last night even whilst getting sniped at. She still came to me to give me my hat lol. Think I'm in love ~

Yesterday I got screwed for being nice and not immediately shooting people who get too close to me while I'm on a mission. Unfortunately boat missions really screw people solo cuz you can only use a pistol/revolver. He acted like he was sitting at the campfire crafting and I left him. Soon as I got in the boat he got up and sniped me and I couldn't get back in time to save the boat. He was a terrible shot, killed him twice but the third time I couldn't get out of the boat fast enough to blow him up again. Was so embarrassing...

We understand the whole beta thing, its just after 9 years, it shouldn't require 6 months of beta. Just saying!
I mean I've seen other non console MMOs that were focused take almost a year to go through beta/alpha stages. So I'm not really surprised at the speed RDO is moving. Console people just expect everything right now.
And I'm sure they spend majority of that 8-9 years perfecting the storyline to be the masterpiece that it is. There's no guarantee how online will work. If they had it made 4 years ago they would have been behind the times. Multiplayer online games are evolving rapidly. Technology in general moved quickly. Why I dropped out of my tech college cuz I didn't want to try to keep up lol.

They aren't cheap so don't waste them. I finally hit 95 after a few weeks of grinding hard and that was the first thing I went and got when I hit 93. They are wonderful if other players are pissing around with you and you get fed up with it.
And then there was me and my posse wasting ours over at flatneck station blowing each other off the tower to see how far we could fly lol. Good times.

I haven't had this specifically but some dude walked into the post office and killed me with a shotgun. Like I couldn't get my gun out but he had his and easily killed me and I don't understand how.
Then again when some guy wasn't transparent and killed me while in the PO (like on the porch about to walk inside). Then he kept tackling me inside but not actually damaging me but he wouldn't leave me alone and I couldn't leave or do anything.

Thanks for the invite. I'll be on the lookout when I'm online, but given locales and time zones, I'm more likely to be online when folks on the US West coast are playing (UTC-8:00), even though I'm on EST (UTC-5:00, right now, -4:00 in the spring and summer). Reason being, I wait until everyone else in the house is asleep, so there's nights I don't get on until 2200 or 2300.
Technically I'm awake around midnight but for work lol. Only on the weekends am I free anytime. The others are still up though. I'm Central, so I'm usually on from 11:30am until about latest 8pm.

So they added a KILL tax and Debt Collectors

The base prices for cougar carcasses were lowered among other big money animals like bucks, seems to match single player prices. Herons and spoonbills only give one feather regardless of quality. Those types of things, the stuff people were making bank on. And y'all act like hunting is the only way to make money. Story mission waiting it out while hunting still works. Posse up and do stranger missions, the dailies. Hunting isn't the only thing in this game.
I do think they need to rethink the fact that defending ourselves when someone is clearly bright red gives you a bounty. But I'm hopeful if we scream hard enough they'll change it, soon.
