  1. @chocolatefinch @Jackthestripper I've had griefer issues since the get-go. a posse makes a huge difference in my game experience and you're welcome to ride in mine (The Grey Hares). Get your ammo at camp or your posse camp and avoid towns. Check the map for pink or red blips before you decide which butcher to use and ride the railroad tracks or overland instead of using the roads. The one thing you won't be able to prevent is the rooftop sniper that hangs out St Denis right across from the butcher... As a posse leader, I'm responsible to protect my crew😉👍 and have no qualms putting a high-velocity round into that guy's melon.

  2. I'm a veteran and like shooters. But you'd be surprised at how many people online call me "Mazh," French or middle-eastern sounding. I thought e z p z, I will just capitalize the Maj and people will realize it's major. then I found out Microsoft charges 10 bucks for a gamertag change. Maybe I should have called myself... Maj Tahal in the first place (?).

certain people are being targeted based on usernames and what they have on their character.

I think this has merit because I've certainly had the same thoughts: I am not Chinese but my name is WehTuFat, meant to be as funny as it sounds. The second thing is more troubling. I use a female character and I cannot tell you how weird it has been to have a player lasso me time and again time and again time and again in the same few minutes to where I have to choose "Die" to escape. Three occasions of that. as stated before in this form you don't need to have all of your marbles to buy a  game and play online

  4. @HuDawg you and @YodaMan 3D are never going to agree. This is like a tennis match back and forth and back and forth.. good lively debate well maybe. In writing Rockstar classifies "griefing" as "Disruptive Behavior" which makes it abundantly clear that it is a detractor and they consider it undesirable. While someone may want to defend the right to be shot in the back by a griefer, Rockstar will absolutely do something about it but only if and when enough players file the reports under disturbing behavior so they can determine the extent of it happening. I wish both of you had used the time for this thread in my posse. We would have all had fun, HuDawg getting to be the chief griefer assassin and Yodaman and I being protected to carry on as usual lol. The one benefit I have gotten from Reading every Post in this thread is that I will never buy or play GTA 🤯 whether it is lobbies or not I am going to place my faith in Rockstar providing some kind of relief.

You can't believe the number of kills I get just ridng from point a to point b: rabbits squirrels birds etc. And because it is 22 caliber I get a lot of perfect carcasses, feathers and pelts. But I have my shotgun handy in case of ambush or wolves. I think it is the first weapon of choice for griefers because of its head shot ability and the speed it chambers rounds.

Consider today: my posse-mate and I were NPC-ambushed on a winding road and I didn't even realize I hadn't changed weapons. When it was over my posse mate teased me about being a terrible shot because of the number of rounds I had fired. But I'm going to venture a guess that I took out more of the bad guys than he did because even I was amazed at thep performance of that sweet little .22  and it's cheap rounds 👍

I feel your pain dude.   But if R* would have added Private Lobbies and Free Aim lobbies.

Private lobbies are moot for me because I don't have a lot of online friends; darn few in fact. So I wouldn't have anybody to invite and necessarily need public servers.

If a griefer nails me after hunting , have Miss Scarlett head for the hills with my pelts until I respawn. She is a red chestnut Arabian mare who is skittish, anyway

To the victors go the spoils? Yes--if  I'm in a PUBG environment or mode. Everybody out there is armed and I get my yayas from a good firefight, too. If somebody wants to engage me time and again, all the better, causing me--challenging me-- to sharpen my skills to be a badder cowboy. Just don't take away the product of 2 hours game time hunting. The disconnects happened, take their share, and give me all the frustration I'm willing to bear.

As a senior citizen, gaming at this level beats the hell out of checking the local Senior/Community Center schedule to find out when the next 1-Bucket Group Denture Soak is going to convene. RDR2 and RDO allow me to focus and concentrate, challenge my motor and hand-eye coordination skills, and keep me from being out there driving too slow in the fast lane, terrified of the unbridled  power under the hood of my new, 6-cylinder Ford PickemUp truck😎lol

Donkeys are the superior beast of burden, even on three legs.

In the story game, I actually jumped on ones back and rode it on a couple missions, with my horse trailing, and it was fun as hell. Stamina all day long but if you jumped off after shooting game he might just take off on you. Another occasion hitched him in town and came out of the gun shop to see him on a dead run for the hills, lol. I think I earned an as*-master badge 😁 I might even do it again on my next run through the game

  8. I don't think we on Xbox can block anyone. However I have reported a bunch of griefers. And I think I am seeing the result: I had just entered a server and spawned the other night and notice some gamertags in the list were red. I hadn't had interaction with anyone yet and surmised they may have been griefers I reported. I hope so. I was able to choose to ignore or annihilate them

  9. SAFETY IN NUMBERS

Posse! RDO is to bring players together and I'm guilty of playing solo way too much. I bought a large camp and created a posse. While I've never had more than two other riders with me, I think  griefers pause before randomly attacking. The drawback is that I play at strange hours because I'm a night owl and because of that, changed the settings to open posse one night. What happened? Some guy joined and it turns out he was a griefer's griefer 😡

I'm retired and have all the time in the world to play. I just haven't done the time grinding and in truth need skills. I think I just hit level 26.

IMHO it would be great if high level players--especially from this forum--would join our [my!] puny little posses. Perhaps those high-level players could find new satisfaction in the game eliminating the griefers that stifle lower players' progress negating the rewards from hours of hunting.

Grateful shout out to @BurbonChaser who has help me understand opportunities I have been missing, especially how to make the game more profitable.

  10. The conversation seems to have gotten  as in contentious. So I am going to inject some levity.

It seems as if this discussion's edginess could describe an environment in which we could shoot each other 🤣 next, I'm not such a super achiever to get into the hundred plus level crowd who is bored with the current beta version. That said I'm going to let you laugh at how really lousy I truly am. So have a laugh at my expense! Please.

The Bible does say blessed are the Peacemakers [made by Colt firearms??]

  11. @HuDawg @Samplemygravy  if you have been griefed rarely as HuDawg, your perspective maybe muddied up from the experience of players like me: hunting for 90 minutes or 2 hours,  play Time wasted because some griefer head shoots you as you're jumping off the horse at the butcher. And when this happens to you five or six times, let me know you are okay with it. I don't get saying somebody is not smart if your experience has not been theirs. IMHO all Rockstar has to do is add trapper locations around the map as in the story version.

Proof-Positive that one with more than a few lights out in the old marquee [nut job]  can buy a game and go online. 🤯

  13. @Harlock1796 I'm a night owl and play at very weird hours Central Time, Mississippi Coast. You may or may not have read my main character was hopelessly glitched and so for fun and giggles I picked a silly name from my college days (late 70s) and made the character 😳 female. I'm sure that makes some people a little uncomfy when they ask me if I'm a woman and I say no, but my typical reply isto regard this as I'm working undercover 🙄 give me a shout or join The Grey Hares

@Kean_1 the reason I didn't report it as a glitches because I know that you can't run into your camp for safety if you are on a mission or in a fight with someone. They can certainly be active inside your camp. I didn't catch the gamertag but he certainly figured out a new way to be an annoying griefer lol.
