  1. Yeah... as much fun as I occasionally have playing these online games, I’d give it all up in a second if we could go back to having regular releases of kick ass single player games like the good old days...

  2. Honestly, I’ve never found the servers all that bad other than a few days some time in the past... they seemed to fix it. Granted, I haven’t played in a while, so things could be bad now and I wouldn’t know... second, I’ve spent $5 or so on micro transactions, to buy the special one time offer of gold bars. So I don’t feel like I’m being ‘charged out the ass’ on micro transactions... I doubt this is the type of situation that calls for mass refunds or class action lawsuits or the likes. But I can get how having a series of disconnects can be very frustrating. Bet even when I’ve been disconnected the odd time in the past  I’m pretty sure I’ve only lost a few pelts and the likes, nothing to go panicking about.

  3. I still think people complain to much. It is just a game after all,  not a world changing treaty or piece of legislation... But that’s just me. I find it fun to dabble in now. I anticipate having a blast after the summer update comes and the -40 weather keeps me confined to the basement more often. That’s all I can really ask out of a $60 piece of entertainment software.

  4. Well, Not that I overly dislike the game as is, but life got in the way a little for me and it’s just not worth making the extra time until I have something new to do. So in my case, the longer they draw it out, the longer I stay away from my basement. And the longer it is before I even consider the possibility of buying any gold bars to get some must have cool sh*t that I just can’t be bothered to grind for...

But I do believe your hunch is right. We’ll likely be waiting two or three more weeks.

I was using LeMat's but when i tried Mauser pistols ill never go back to revolvers.

Fast, accurate, super fast reload.   Combined with PiB fast tap and Winning streak they are the BOMB. Both pve and pvp.

I like the mauser. But, going semi-auto just takes a little something of the flavour away from the game for me...

    It's hard to beat @Kean_1!!!

    Great name/avatar btw!

I’m of the opinion that Dunsworth played the best chronically drunk antagonist of all time... Unfortunately, actors can die, but The Liquor is immortal (and possibly immoral, depending who you ask).

as for the newsbot thing, I just kind of found it funny that the articles always seems to post right in the middle of the discussion thread. Not a criticism exactly.

So basically the only solution to avoid the hostility level change is to not fight back at all...? Okay. I'll keep this in mind, thank you very much for the info, this was really helpful! I guess next time I'll just leave the session if a griefer wants to play. (I have absolutely ZERO love for griefers, I would much rather just leave than to acknowledge their presence by fighting back. I do applaud the idea of Defensive Mode - it made me come back to the game, - but I still wish R* allowed Invite Only sessions.) And yes, I have the highest honor, which is probably why my hostility level was back to low after just a minute or two. The game did also knock me into Offensive Mode tho, I think it's supposed to do that once your hostility level rises.

I have that happen to me as well, twice in the past three weeks or so, once when I just passed an NPC on the "road" and once when I got on my own horse in Saint Denis the game suddenly claimed I was a horse thief. I was like "lolwat?".

I jumped on ‘my’ horse a while back and got called a horse thief. Turns out I had jumped on an NPC horse that looked a lot like mine. I realized when I accidentally whistled when trying to open my satchel and my trusty steed came running after me. I figured since I was already accused of horse thievery I might as well make a couple runs of double sturgeon to the butcher.

What about storing crafting materials in your camp, like herbs, feathers, animal fat, moonshine? You can still only carry 10 pieces on you but what if you could go herb picking and deposit them in your camp, or hunting, looting, etc... It would give another reason to use the camp.

Not a bad idea. Also something likely to take shape down the road I think.

Regardless of what the games have been, there is certainly nothing wrong with evolving, especially with the way online was advertised. There were people that bought in to what Rockstar advertised, came to the game and saw what a crapshow it is and left.

I realize there are people like you that get their enjoyment from the PvP aspect and being able to kill anyone you want whenever you feel like it.  I think that you and those who feel like you should be able to do that--but only to one another.

I wonder about people who don't want a passive mode. It  wouldn't affect them. It would only cut down on the number of  potential victims.

Honestly, passive mode is a tool employed by griefers quite effectively. I’d rather not give them the tools myself. I personally like the defensive mode. You know your still vulnerable, but it’s just that much harder to get the drop on you. You also know you can’t fully trust someone in defensive mode, because they just might be a snake and be trying to get the drop on you.

With the radar blips the way they are now, the game is relatively griefer free, without being completely gutted of the PVP elements in free roam... @Netnow66, I believe your definition of griefing is just an extreme one, where anything another player may do that impacts you in the slightest is griefing... I just can’t get behind that kind of idea for this game.

  10. I use borderline derogatory language frequently... As one of my basic training instructor put it all those years ago... ‘the army taught me how to do three things very well. Drink, smoke and swear.’

Is it my imagination, or has horse bonding slowed down significantly?

I have been a 1 horse cowgirl since about January, when I bought my Nokota, and had only owned 3 horses in game - the one you get at the start and a black thoroughbred, each of which I sold soon after upgrading.  Maybe my memory is playing me false, but it feels like all 3 of those bonded up to level 4 very quickly, without even trying.

Last week, as a result of several occasions when my Nokota was shot out from under me, I decided to buy a backup horse, to avoid the curse of the scrawny nag.

However, my new pony (the red Arabian) seems to be bonding ridiculously slowly.  I must have at least 10 hours in the saddle (with a reasonable amount of brushing and feeding), and I'm barely half way to bonding level 3.  Anyone else noticed this?

To be fair, I did think that they bonded too quickly before, but curious as to other peoples' experience of this.

I rode the red chestnut since day 1 (my day 1 anyway). It took ages to bond. But for the longest time I was resetting to level one bonding constantly, so I can’t say if it takes longer or not...

    Shoot 'em!!!

The 5 cents is worth it. Kill them. Or, just let them rob you I suppose. This situation isn’t griefing in itself... but it could easily turn into griefing if either party decides to take it overboard.

  13. That would be more thieving than poaching... poaching is what you’re doing loading your horse with as many dead animals as you can and stuffing your satchel full of fish lol.

honestly, it’s annoying. But fits more in the line of being a thieving outlaw than riding around and murdering people for no particular reason. I’d just stop them, myself. Either with my fists or my guns, situation dependant. And if they get the upper hand and get away with my stuff, oh well. They won fair and square (assuming they don’t just make it into an excuse to grief you endlessly. Then they’re just being di*ks)

  14. Just to be picky... if the 7.62 round missed Johnny Taliban completely, but he got so scared he keeled over from a heart attack, he’d likely fall off the back of the galloping horse as well LOL... it’s the physics of the galloping horse more than the bullet... Sorry, I’m just kind of teasing now.
