I have two loadouts, one for hunting, one for pvp or free roam defending.
For Hunting:
Springfield with long scope
Varmint rifle with scope
Then I rotate between,
Dual Sawed off's
Dual Volcanic pistols
Dual Mausers
Plus Dynamite
For pvp usually:
Lancaster
Repeating Shotgun or Double barreled shotgun
Dual Mausers or Dual Sawed off's
Sometimes I will chose the Springfield in place of the repeating shotgun if it is a big map and use the sawed off's for close range.

With every passing week, we get closer to a big update, I alwasy look forward to Tuesdays, lol.
Lets hope tomorrow turns out to be better than last Tuesday, I dont have too much hope that it will hit tomorrow, but ya never know.
I am excited for it to happen, I hot level 88 today, I am very close to my goal of 100, so I have everything in game I want, when the game does land, I will be 110% ready for it.I even got better at pvp,. I got to my 3rd MVP tonight I went 17-4.
I never stop moving, unless IO am drinking a potion or something, no camping, just run, shoot, kill, it is getting more and more fun with every kill.
Now when I see a level 8 player or 14 I feel a little bad for them, lol I know the struggle and what lies ahead and if they drop the update anytime soon, those folks are going to be struggling, because everyone is going to come back for a few days to check it out after the update, whether they stay around after that we will have to see, but in those days, I forsee full servers, lots and lots of high level players, etc..

Me to, actually they had a deal where they lowered to level 40 I think when I was level 38, I leveled up, bought two of them, one in each color, only because I didnt need anything else and I figured they are going to end this in a few days, so looking back it was a waste of $950 but I do use them both.
Either way, great horse, mine is maxed out with saddles, saddle bags and stirrups, so its attributes are 100% very quick, very fast, long distance, he just runs, and runs, and runs.
PS I just added 2 Mauser Pistols, $1200 plus modifications, they are devastating, I havent used them yet, but took some target practice, cant wait to get in a close up fight now,

What item have you bought that you really enjoy and get a lot of use out of and are thankful that you bought, and how much was it, what did you do to get it?
Ill start.
For me it was the fast travel post at my camp., I think it cost $700, I went hunting with a few goals in mind, I needed $2300, this was one of three items I bought at once.
I love that thing, it has saved me tons of headaches while grinding.
What was your's?
My second would be my Missouri Fox Trotter or my large tent at camp both make me smile every time I use either, my cores fill in seconds and my horse is great.

Yes, 1 at a time, as I caught them, I walked up the rock I parked near, then stepped into the back of the cart and dropped them, it is touchy and takes a little tweaking, but you will get it.

I put 6 Pike in a 2 wheel wagon, and made it to the valentine butcher, as I engaged the butcher, the fish fell through the cart to the ground, so I had to pick them up one by one and sell them to the butcher that way, I made it but only because there werent too many griefers hanging around the butcher at that moment.
I then, got 4 more, and took the cart down to Rhodes and got a few Lake Sturgeon, it went well and I sold those too, then I went to Shady belle to get Long nose Gar and gator pelts, but when trying to find a spot to back up my cart so I could load it, it de spawned on me, and that was that

I thought I was doing well, at level 82 I have 6 cards I think, at tier 3, but 16? damn you did some grinding for sure.

I have both PIB and SB I got SB for these games, I figured when I grab whatever I am grabbing and run back to my base, SB migth be handy, But ive yet to get it to work properly, Im still working on it.
I got all my cards updated to tier 3, and I am thinking of adding S&S too so I have options to counter players with similar set ups, it is nice to have options all maxed out ready to go whenever you need them.

Sadly it is the nature of online games, peopel ALWAYS find the best way to get what THEY want out of it and everyone else suffers, (talking about spawn killing as a strategy) The other stuff, joining as a posse and playing in a group is part of the game, if they change that and make it so you can not drag your posse in with you then that would be another matter, but if Rockstar allows it, cant blame the players that chose to play that way.
Sure it stinks if you play solo, but best bet is to write to Rockstar and let them know how you feel about it and that it makes you not want to play it, this may not help or accomplish anything, but I think they should want to know about things that drive players away, they coudl easily make the game posses only and solo only to avoid this, so people that dont have access to a posse dont have to feel ganged up on, but it is ultimately up to Rockstar to address it, and they wont unless a lot of peopel voice a concern like yours.

These boards are for discussing things, if you have to be nasty because someone has a different opinion, maybe this isnt for you either.
Im sure there are many people who do not maintain an xbox live account and got one to try this game.
Personally if I was one of them, I would have looked on youtube and online first to see what is up with the online game, and after seeing how it is going I most likely would not have spent the money yet, I might have waited until the game was more refined so it didnt feel like a waste of money.

Heck, I maintain an xbox live account just for updates and stuff, the free games, etc.. I dont play much online, COD ww2 and sometimes Star Wars btfnt II, and now RDR2O.
When I buy a new console, and I bought the 360, then the xbox one, I grabbed a ps4, then an xbox one S, then an xbox one X, and which each, first thing I did was put it online, they both have way too many features to not go online, IMO so for me, I never look at that cost as part of the game, I pay it anyway. -
Ahh sorry about that man, lol after a few posts it gets confusing sometimes when I dont pay attention, my bad man, you are correct.
Im my case I read about that at the time I happened to be at that particular mission, the Angelo Bronte Mission where you go get Jack back, and so for me, it didnt feel like an exploit, I just did the mission, I realized that I was seen as I was leaving the cemetery the police saw me and I had to run for it, finished the mission and decided to try it and see if in fact it worked, well it did.
I crossed into the Blackwater area from Strawberry and nothing happened, I kept going and I went all the way to Gaptooth ridge, I got the legendary fish, animals, and dino bones while I was out there, then when I was done, I came back and kept going with the game. -
Yes, I know, but the post is about the time machine, and rock carvings, I am just trying to keep it on topic.
There are plenty of posts about the Dino bones and New Austin.

Exactly and the opposite is true also, if you have a daily challenge to kill people from horse back or with a particular gun, starting a mission in a populated area can provide you with that opportunity.
Or if you just want some interaction, fighting etc.. but dont feel like joining pvp, and dont want to be a jerk and just start shooting un-suspecting players who are doing their own thing, then start a mission in a populated area and have at it, I think these can be great for daily challenges, for practicing fighting, etc.. if you are doing them solely for xp then yeah do them in areas where there arent players so you dont get interrupted.

Im the same way, I play on the team I get put on, the only time I change is if I see Im on the stacked team, then I will join a more balanced team, but then I leave it, like I said it seems to shuffle anyway and I often end up on another team anyway, so.. Im just trying to understand why and what is going on.
So Pluck you said you can join together as a posse? thats both god and bad, I can see that being fun if you are in a posse, not so much if your not and if you are in a posse and have your chat on, does that mean that in game you can talk to and hear your posse only, not the rest of the room?

Im part of a Milsim group, it is similar I think, we have 60 members so far and we do lots of things together, we help out new players, we come in off discord to join a server where our members are being harassed, we have battles with other groups similar to ours that they negotiate terms before hand and stuff like that, it is a military simulator so we have ranks, uniforms, some discipline, although trying to have discipline with 60 people many of them teens or in their 20's is a serious challenge, but that is why we recruit the people we recruit, non toxic players who love the game and want to enjoy the experience as much as they can.
I know in the past especially on pc, games like Quake 2 comes to mind where there were so many player modified versions of the game it was crazy fun, my favorite was W.O.D. Weapons of Destruction, I would be interested to see what comes of rdr2 if and when it goes to pc, I havent built a gaming rig in many years, and I dont game on pc anymore, it is just too expensive for me these days, but if RDR2 goes to PC it might be the motivation I need to build a new gaming rig, ugg lol my wife isnt going to like that.

I agree and I think they could have been more specific with these challenges and made it so you HAVE to get them in pvp only, player kills in Free Roam dont count, that alone would stop a lot of the griefing, or player killing if you prefer.

Yep, there are 3 or 4 that you can only do with low honor, I did not know this, but a little investigating showed me the way.
That kind of stinks, I mean they could have at least put a note in my online window telling me to complete the story you must lower your honor or something, what about players who never have low honor, they wouldn't have figured this out either, unless someone else showed them.
It never occurred to me that there were more missions, I had a 75% complete in there, but I never thought twice about it until a friend asked me what my % was, then it hit me, ooohhhhh DOH!
Anyway Im glad I was able to figure this out, I did story missions while I was new, level 5 to 14, now I am level 80 and finding out I still haven't completed the story was a little distressing but made me happy to find I still have new content I havent seen, I just dont want to lower my honor so I dont know when I will get to see them.
Maybe once I am over stocked on gold so I can do it quickly, first though, my list is, buy the $700 tent, get to lvl 95 and load up on pamphlets for explosive ammo, dress up my guns with brass, gold, and various metal combo's, get the saddle from the "Special saddle" list, then maybe, as I cant think of anything else I would like to change or get, so.. in a few weeks I will have all that and then rather then spend gold and cash as it comes in I will let it build up, so I can jump in, do the 3 or 4 missions, then change it back, Id like to do this before the Spring update hits.When I see players over level 100 and they have thousands of dollars and dozens of gold bars, I think, soon, very soon.

I hadnt experienced any of this and then yesterday I found in one lobby I found no animals, nothing, actually for a time, I was alone in the entire map, there were no players, it was amazing but yet empty, Then I bounced and came back after a while and I was in the Bayou and I saw more gators, more fish and more pelicans and herons that I have ever seen before, I literally shot down 6 pelicans, 4 or 5 herons, killed 6 gators, fished and caught 20 bass plus picked a few up, and killed 4 to 6 boars all in a 10 minute span in one small area, it was crazy over populated with every animal from the region, I was loving it.
I also went to Colter, once nothing not a deer, rabbit or crow, nothing, then a few other people spawned or traveled up there and all of a sudden like someone flipped a switch, I found a herd of bucks, BUCK's they alwasy run solo in my experience, I found 6 in a group on a mt side, they couldnt run I shot all 6 of them, plus a few mt goats, so I dunno what is going on, maybe they are working on some balancing technique for animals per player or something?

Well hopefully by or before June 11th we will find out, and hopefully the new system will help prevent some of this stuff, we can only wait and hope, but it is close, iwthevery passing day we get closer to the final product.

I went and I tried this last night again, I joined the showdown series small, instead of large and it was great!!
They ran spoils of war, up in smoke, plunder I think, etc.. all games I hadnt seen in a while, and I really enjoyed, I actually had some good rounds, I won MVP twice, and our team won a few times, that was really fun.
I wasnt joining small showdown series anymore because when I had it was just a smaller version of last man in tall tree's but I never really gave it a chance, or maybe it changed recently, either way it was great fun, I am glad I tried it.

I've been noticing the lobby almost completely empties out when the solo hunt and kill matches cycle up. You would think that would be sending a clear message to Rockstar. Eventhough I'm getting better at those solo maps, I still don't like them. I prefer to work on a team. For those, I wish they would fix up how the teams get sorted out though.
Funny I am the opposite I prefer the solo stuff only because nobody uses a mic, there is no TEAM your on a team, but nobody listens or says anything they scatter like roaches and it is very stressful to try and make any headway by yourself, or if you decide ok, ill just follow my team mates, they dont even stay together, so I do not like it.
I had a few times where others used a mic, one or two other players, anyway and together we kicked butt, but then when the map changed and game changes I get shuffled again.

What the heck is up with the people all scrambling around when you try to play a team game, you pick a team or the game assigns you one, you wait, and ready up, then in the final seconds, it all gets shuffled, I almost alwasy get moved to another team and I cant help but feel like this is play manipulation and if so, then wtf, ugg its tough to do anything with others, people all have their own agenda's and plans and trying to work together even when I am 100% willing to follow, you can not get any team action going.
Especially the territory maps, it would be great to talk to my team mates, I can hear their mics, but they dont say a word!!!I want to choke someone LOL, so whatever I usually quit once it goes to these, I mean I join, get moved to another team try to get anything going, see nobody will talk everyone is just scrambling and loosing so I bail and then thats that.

I like them both, after owning them both I chose the Trotter, although the Turkoman has a better disposition at times.
However the Trotter is faster and quicker.
Even if you dont go all out with an upgraded saddle and stir ups.
I hit level 89 tonight and I was thinking about this again.
I think I still love my fast travel post the best, then the Trotter, then maybe the Dual Mausers, they are nasty in a fight, I rapid fired three guys in a gun fight, all at once, they came at me in a group, it was amazing, that combo is deadly.
Once I can buy the dynamite arrow pamphlet that will most likely replace my favorite purchase, a few more levels, only one more level for the repeater explosive ammo, it is starting to get easier everyday.
