  1. There actually is a trick that enables you to pass all of Arthur’s wealth to John.

Just leave the incest couple encounter until just before the final mission, then go to the farm and let it play out as normal. Afterward, don’t return to the farm and instead go do the final mission. Once you unlock free roam as John (or is it already “unlocked”? I always focus on work at the farm until John leaves for Blackwater), just go to the pig farm, kill the incest couple, and collect Arthur’s money from the hiding place.

I believe this trick has been tested by at least one person here and is confirmed to work.

Do people in Cali typical hate Halloween now or something? I know there are a lot of very progressive people out there (not in the good way) and they tend to hate most holidays because it offends someone somewhere. I just didn't think it was a statewide issue.

No, not that I know of. I always thought Halloween was only an issue in heavily Christian areas, TBH. They have been trying to get Columbus Day changed to Indigenous Peoples’ Day for some time now, but outside of extremely liberal areas like SF, no one seems to care and Columbus Day continues sailing onward.🤣

  3. I moved. Because my landlord decided to be a royal asshole and evict me just for fun apparently. I have the misfortune of presently living in an area where Americans aren't looked upon too highly right now: California.

Now I'm having to jump through hoops just to get Internet and phone service installed at my new place (right now I'm getting intermittent Internet through my Galaxy and the occasional open wifi networks that pop up). Despite never before having any problems with my provider, they've now suddenly decided to be incompetent idiots by missing two scheduled appointments, putting me on hold for hours during phone calls, then afterward usually transfer me to the wrong departments which results in me being placed on hold for hours again.

So now you know where I've been.

  4. I'm not saying RDR2's and GTA V's story modes aren't good (though I do think GTA V's was a little too short compared to GTA IV's, but that's beyond the scope of this topic), but when I read a statement that they love single player more than multi player only for them to focus all post-release content on multi player, I can't help but be skeptical. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a lie like some of the more extreme gamers out there would do, but it does come off as a bit disingenuous to me. Not unlike Ubisoft "listening to the fans" in regards to Breakpoint.

New weapons and cars from GTA Online originally were made available in GTA V at least until the Heists Update and it certainly didn't stop the former becoming an unbridled financial success, so I have serious doubts that the LeMat and Evans being usable by Arthur and John in story mode would hurt RD Online in even the slightest.

And you're right, they did say they had no plans of expanding the game world. Seems I was reading between the lines on that.

If you care to see exactly what R*'s take is on all this, I would read the link in that article to the original VG 24/7 interview.  Here it is again:

    https://www.vg247.com/2019/09/27/red-dead-online-future-heists-villain-lawmen-business/

IMO, there is a lot more to it than what is being described above.  I'm not saying it will change anyone's mind about it, but it explains more as to why there is likely to be no additional content for the campaign.  ......and btw, they don't entirely rule out something like an Undead Nightmare 2.

They said it before but RDO is meant to be the extension of the campaign where players assume roles as themselves in the RDR2 game world.  They are trying to evolve and expand RDO into that reality.  With the introduction of the new roles and other content introduced (and planned), I can really see their vision taking shape.  They've really been catering to those who don't necessarily want to participate in PvP conflicts with other players.  In fact, they have noticed more interest in cooperative gameplay than PvP in the game which (IMO) is a good thing since that is right down my alley.  I also think that it will further encourage R* to tailor the game more with that in mind.

I know some folks will always be adamantly against the online experience which is fine.  .....but speaking as someone who loved the campaign and is also enjoying the online experience, I can really begin to see their vision taking shape now and (personally), I like it.  .....and this is from someone who hates GTAO public sessions.

I just can't buy this talk about how much they supposedly love single play when they aren't doing much of anything for the single player portions of their most recent games, though. Even if it was minor stuff like new weapons, outfits and horses we could buy at shops, it would have a ringing of truth to it. But it's all a matter of money. Even if they won't admit it, it's why they stopped making new cars and weapons from GTA Online available in GTA V. Why bother playing GTA Online for that fancy new supercar when I can buy it with the billions I've gained from the stock market as Mike, Frank, or Trevor in GTA V? They stopped making new content available in GTA V because it was cutting into their sales of shark cards in GTA Online and they're not doing it in RDR2 because they know it will cut into their sales of whatever RD Online's equivalent is.

I'm also taking any claims of expanding RD Online's world with a grain of sand. They said the same thing about GTA Online back when it was first released, but here we are today and GTA Online still encompasses the same Los Santos and Blaine County that it did at the beginning.

We love a good single player experience, more so than a multiplayer one

Pardon me, but bull ****ing sh*t. If there was any truth to that, they would be doing something for single player even if it was minor stuff like new weapons, outfits, or horses.

Joking aside, you can make $25 relatively quickly in the game. So, unless you expect Rockstar to decrease payouts in the game exponentially (something that undoubtedly won't go over well), expect the prices of new guns to be significantly higher than they would be IRL 1899.

  8. GTA San Andreas for free just for downloading the launcher, you say? *heads to link*

I do legitimately hope they release RDR2 for PC players though. I've said before that I believe that, outside of some certain exceptions, console/platform exclusives are an outdated concept that needs to be done away with. With the high production costs of games these days, getting your product out to as many different players only benefits both developers and players.

Edit: Aaaaand this version of San Andreas doesn't offer mod support. Way to go, Rockstar. 🙄

You shouldn't get your hopes up too much, and cap your expectations at a cool little Halloween event.

Yeah, I'm definitely not going to get my hopes up. As I previously said, I'm 99% sure there will never be any DLC done for story mode. Unfortunately, Rockstar's been bitten by the online multiplayer bug and, much like a zombie plague, there's virtually no stopping that virus from taking hold.

I found this outside of Armadillo and figured it was a plant for the upcoming un-dead stuff, Im not really sure, but it looks out fo place and has the mask.

Yeah, it's clear this is definitely leading into something.

Created a new community called Red Dead Mature

Rules are easy play online, back each other up, relax and have a good time

    Missions and Resupply

If you're busy playing RDR2, how did you have time to do that and register here?

Yeah, you're right.  I don't know why I completely brain farted on that one.  It was a DLC tied to the campaign.

.....but yeah, like you I doubt there will be one (or maybe any DLC) for RDR2.  Seems they really want folks to use RDO as an NG+ experience for lack of a better term.  They've obviously tried to make it a lot more PvE friendly.

It's a shame though, I would have liked a unique UN2 experience although it would definitely be fun with friends.  My memory is obviously crap...  Could you partner up with folks in UN1 or was it solo only?

Well, there has been DLC, but only for RDO. They added the Evans repeater and LeMat revolver, off the top of my head. Would have liked to have those in story mode. I missed the LeMat in particular as it was probably my second or third most used pistol in RDR1

Undead Nightmare itself was strictly a singleplayer DLC, but there were zombie-themed additions included in RDR1's online component. As you know, though, I'm not much of a multiplayer guy. I was soured on it by a bad experience with Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 where I mistakenly entered an MP round with the third person cheat activated which glitched the game to hell and resulted in me being banned from multiple servers and getting numerous hateful messages including death and rape threats over it. Obviously I'm not as thin-skinned as I was back then and can give just as much as I get, but that kind of experience was traumatic for me at the time and has stuck even after nearly a decade.

I am happy that they went the direction that they are going but unfortunately (for me), MW may still be a little a little too twitch-shooter for me.  The 2v2 was run & gun on steroids.  I prefer more team based tactical gameplay with squad-like tactics.  Something more methodical, deadly and realistic in relation to movement speed, etc. to help force players into thinking more rather than charging ahead.

I think anyone who expected CoD to change up their core gameplay formula had unrealistic expectations. It would basically be the same exact thing that Ubisoft is doing with GRB, just on the opposite end of the spectrum. They would be alienating their core fanbase.

And, in all fairness, I've yet to play any PvP mode that isn't run and gun on some level.

I stopped playing the Breakpoint beta on Saturday.  There were just too many things that irked me about the direction(s) they took this game.  Haven't heard from my friend yet but he'll likely follow my lead on this one given how we tend to like the same things in games.

I'll be playing the MW beta this weekend though.

The majority of Saturday and Sunday for me was devoted to getting screencaps for the game's IMFBd page rather than actually playing the beta. Though I did acquire a fondness for the G28 fitted with an ACSS scope during that period. I just wish I could have put it on the HK416 instead. Ubisoft claimed they would be adding attachments as DLC, so hopefully one of those is an ACSS with a piggyback red dot sight for assault rifles. With the seemingly improved bullet drop, I think higher magnification scopes now serve much better use on them. Minus certain details like exact placement, this is basically the configuration I'd like to run.

I expect the MW beta to be multiplayer, so I'm not interested in it.
