I checked the fridge, I checked behind @BropolloCreed79's toilet, I checked around. Couldn't find the beers.

Thanks to @Truth, @Freddie Mercury, and @Cokeyskunk for the invite to a new community! Feels like a new season of the Walking Dead.

Hope to meet some new characters here, sharpen my spurs, and turn a 10 gallon hat into a beer funnel.

See ya guys at the saloon!

    Heeeyyyy!!! Now it's a party!!

Welcome, Goons! Glad to be discussing a living, breathing game with ya again! (Well, in October, that is . . . )

So true, in today's society. It doesn't matter how talented you are, if you're not "relevant" or if you don't have a "trendy" look. Nobody gives a sh*t about you and what you do.

It's kinda sad to think about...

Apologies for neglecting to add @Freddie Mercury to that list. The man was an icon.

Can't we just go ahead and say most newer "artists"...? They're popular for 1 song for a while, then they're only popular because of the dumb sh*t they do to stay relevant... Hell, I'd go ahead and say 95% of the entertainment industry as a whole.

Totally agree. Everyone liked "All the Single Ladies," "Umbrella," and  . . . whatever the hell Nicki Minaj sang. Moving on. Next!

Sorry if I just sound like an old-fart Gen-X'er ('cause I am), but what happened to performers like Lionel Richie, Elton John, David Bowie, Billy Joel -- hell, even Neil Diamond? These guys SANG WHAT THEY WROTE, and kept crankin' out the great music.

    Where is that these days??

I see it panning out a bit differently. Arthur walks away from a life of crime on land and takes to sea as the Captain of his own pirate vessel (with a penchant for rum, no less).

I'd like that, too. I just meant I think it's correct that you play as Morgan for the first half (ish), then as Marston for the last part.

Anyone remember my sidequest? Didn't think so.

Anyway, I loved RDR...I replay it a few times every year and I achieved every single legend tier in online. Pike's basin, never 4get. Can't wait to team up with you all and discuss this amazing game. If anyone has room in their posse for a 'chinaman' (I know that's an offensive term, just thinking in 19th century society terms here, don't mean to actually offend anyone), hit me up!

    Howdy, stranger. Welcome.

    Help?

    Kill?

The way he's sauntering around, it looks as though he has a real score to settle with Mr. Unfortunate here. (aka, "Man from Blackwater.")

    Easy answer:

If the guy's a stranger and I know nothing about him (or I know he's a good guy) - Help.

If the guy's a child murderer or a rapist or tried to kill me - probably a Kill.

Granted, I too like to play honorably, but there are certain things that would make me want to step on those fingers.

It's all up to the storyline.

    Hey everyone.

Really looking forward to this release so I decided to see if there were any dedicated forums and sure enough, here we are.

Spent the better part of the last fifteen months on the F13 forums and there's not a whole lot to do over there anymore. I've noticed a few transplants here from there that may or may not know me. I was/am rickyount02 over on that side.

Went with my PS4 gamertag this time.

Firm believer in Occam's Razor and very skeptical of anything said online.

    Glad to be here.

Welcome, Rick! Glad to have you! Thanks for dropping the great intro, and good to see a fellow F13 forum member here.

I'm sure you know the drill. Have a quick peek at the forum rules:

    https://www.rdr2.org/forums/topic/807-forum-rules/

At that point, you are encouraged to begin posting and commenting.

I highly recommend visiting the Gamertag thread and posting your info. There, you can find many other players on your platform who would be happy to ride with you.

We're glad your here! Enjoy the forum!

  9. Howdy, folks.

As a community, we often like to ride together. As such, this here topic's dedicated to allowing our users to find other folks who have their same platform and locate them in-game so they can join up and raise a ruckus together.

So, here's where ya do it.  Drop yer platform and gamertag here to let others know how to find ya.

Me? I'm on the PS4 as (shockingly) Cokeyskunk.

    How's 'bout you?

    Much obliged,

RDR1: John Marston dies. You continue to play as Jack.

RDR2: Arthur Morgan Dies. You continue to play as John Marston.

That was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw the main character wasn't Marston. I think you're right. And the story probably ends when John is shot and "left for dead" by Dutch, Bill Williamson, and Javier Escuela.

I've done some more thinking on this. It's been a while since I played RDR1 storymode but doesn't it start with John at Bonnie's ranch immediately after the "left for dead" event?

My guess would be that RDR2 story will lead up to that and include it, so continuing to play as John wouldn't make sense, as that would take you straight into RDR1's storyline.

Nope. It starts with John approaching the fort where Bill Williamson is holed-up, trying to convince him to let him in. They discuss Williamson, Escuela and Dutch leaving Marston for dead. Marston takes an aggressive step forward, and one of Williamson's men shoots John in the ribs.  He passes out, then wakes up at the MacFarlane Ranch.

P.S For those that want to bitch and complain how they don't want first person in this game, please keep in mind if it is it's only an additional option. No one is forcing you to use it and more options doesn't make the game worse, I know there are many who are for it and many who don't care and just as many against it, but please keep this in mind. Thank you, please don't flame me.

Listen, I always say "to each, their own."

I, personally, hate first-person games because they make me nauseous when I play 'em. But my son prefers first person.

We BOTH love Star Wars Battlefront II because you can TOGGLE between first and third person views.

I hope they do the same here. That way, we can all play the game the way we'll best enjoy it.

One of the things I've noticed about Rockstar overall: they tend to build upon their successes as a company when it comes to game design.  Every iteration of GTA has improved and tweaked little things (as well as some big things), and the polish on the physics engine has shown consistent improvement across their titles.

    Indeed.

If the multiplayer is anywhere NEAR as awesome as this single-player footage appears to be, I may have a hard time doing anything else. Much to my wife n' kids' chagrin.  ????

This was even more than I'd hoped for. Just wish we could have seen/heard some from Marston.
