I had a similar issue in Van Horn where I antagonized someone due to the lip he was giving me. Thought I would get in a fist fight, knock him out and continue on my way.   .....well, as soon as he got pissed enough, he threw a punch and then several others joined in.  Guns inevitably came out and then I was in a fight with the whole town trying to get out.

I did the EXACT same thing...

Didn't notice too many women in the area, so I can't really blame them for being like that... That was probably the most action that dude has gotten in a while.

There's also a stage coach fence you can just take any stage coach you steal and sell it. I believe it's unlocked during one of the story missions (chapter 3 I think), it's at Emerald Ranch.

That's in chapter 2 (one of the last missions I did before focusing on everything else).

I found a good one, it's called the "cutter hat" and it's actually one that saves to my profile as "found/stolen hats"

That looks a lot like the hat in your profile pic lol

Before you start every mission make a new save. Do the mission, see what the goals are and the reload your save and do it again. Keep doing this until you get gold, then make that your main autosave file and delete the other one.

That doesn't sound like fun at all...

BUT they will deteriorate over time

I have never had a pelt deteriorate... I always just throw them on my horse as I go.

The carcass will, but not the pelts (unless I'm totally oblivious which isn't exactly unbelievable).

  6. @SolidGoldCrown he gave you the exact advice anyone else would've... He couldn't have known you ****ed up a mission.

You can read into it here: https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/red-dead-redemption-2-legendary-fishing-guide/

    Spoiler

" You’ll have to wait until the chapter two mission, “A Fisher of Men.” During this mission, you take John Marston’s young son Jack fishing down at a river near camp. This mission serves as the basic tutorial for fishing, and from then on, your fishing rod will always be available in your satchel. "

I caught that fish but got eaten by an alligator when I was about to stow it on my horse. When I came back to life the fish was back in the water and I had to catch it again.

Good to know. I still don't like risking it though.

I killed the legendary beaver yesterday, but dropped it in the dam and couldn't pick it up again. Rather than taking the risk, I loaded my save from a few minutes before I found it and killed it again.

Somehow I ended up with 2 legendary beaver pelts at the trapper...

Went to the trapper, the complete perfect carcass he paid $5.50, the skinned carcass he paid $.60 and perfect pelt he paid me $1.50 so it does seem like the complete carcass is worth more.

    That's a surprisingly large difference...

Sry for my Bad english, i did my best :D

    You did great!

I'd say this all depends on the child more than anything. Some kids are ready for stuff like this at an early age, some might not handle it as well.

I'd definitely say no to online mode though. I know how horrible some people can be there and don't think any 10 year old should be exposed to that. Plus you never know who else is in that server. Could be a bunch of other kids, could be adults yelling profanities, could be some creepy dude that can't tell the difference between a kid's voice and a woman's (I've witnessed that).

    Badgers, I was looking

You'll be able to find them in multiple areas. I think the panther (other than the legendary animals) is the only thing so limited. There are only 2 (SMALL) spots where you can find them.

    RANDOM EVENT SPOILER

Haven't seen them that far north, but I've had a few run ins with them.

    Another variation of that event:

    Spoiler

Second encounter, I caught them trying to set up a cross. I decided to watch instead of blasting them with dynamite. The cross fell down, killing 2 of the 3 and the other guy just walked away.

I love how stupid they made them lol

Riding through heavily forested areas is actually easy. Just keep tapping the run button but don't touch the joystick. Your horse will automatically navigate through the trees.

    Fact^

Though My Horse isn't all that bright, he still runs head first into trees sometimes... Must be a side effect from having his head spontaneously combust that one time...

Well, I got knocked off my horse and run down by a bear earlier. I used the knife to get it off of me, and was able to shoot it.

Ah, that's the other use I forgot.

Another tip - ALWAYS MANUALLY SAVE.

I save every few minutes. It always sucks to die and lose sh*t, and you can't always know what's going to happen up the road a bit. Every time I skin something, sell something, buy something, craft stuff, spot a new animal, or travel on horseback, I do a manual save.

@rick249kdr we all make mistakes from time to time, I certainly wouldn't hold this against you. I often make myself look like a turd (if I haven't yet, you'll see eventually).

This could've easily been one of those "I can't figure this out so the game is broken and I want a refund" threads (I've seen a lot of those). I always try to help them out anyway. They're usually just frustrated about something and really appreciate the help.

I'm having trouble finding Badgers and Beavers... I go to their icons on the map, ride around, eagle eye, sneak around, drop Predator bait for the badgers, nothing. I think I've only seen/killed 1, maybe two badgers, but of course, less than perfect pelts. Have yet to see any beavers...

Took me a while to finally spot a badger... I finally got one

    Spoiler

    north of braithwaite manor

The beavers were also a pain... Found them

    Spoiler

west of Strawberry by the Owanjila dam

You have to be quick with them though. Once they're spooked they swim away, so even if you shoot them you won't be able to skin them...

I just kept making laps around the lake until I got lucky. MANY lower quality beavers died in the process...
