Worth a shot, just make a NEW save at that point instead of saving over the existing one.
(I haven't gotten that far yet, so I hope someone can answer this before I get to it)

Wouldn't work for animals you can't carry (bears, elk, moose, etc). I'm happy with skipping the animation. I wouldn't mind the ability to toggle the animation either. I'd guess that a lot of people are put off by it.

Take it as a lesson and do frequent manual saves!
I ****ed up a few things before I decided to do it. The sooner you get into the habit of saving after anything important happens, the better.

Some one have this issue?I've only encountered that when there wasn't room for the animation (too close to a rock or my horse).
I'm alright with this "bug", since it just cuts out a repetitive animation and saves some time. How many times do you really need to see him skin a deer?

I still had 5 crows from an encounter, that did it for me (surprisingly). Unfortunately, I had already gone through the effort of killing 5 other animals to meet that...

I've ridden around with skinned animals for days and never had them decay. I think they only decay if you leave them on the ground. I've had a turkey decay before I got to it because I killed like 5 in a row and skinning took too long, but that's it.

I never played the first 2, but I'm loving this game!
I was going to hold off on buying it, but ended up winning my copy. After playing for over 24 hours, I know I definitely would've paid for it. I actually just ordered the guide from Amazon earlier because I'm enjoying it so much. Absolutely no bias (I joined this forum to keep in touch with a few people, not really for the game) here. In my opinion, it's like a combination of skyrim (or fallout), assassins creed, and gta.
Just plan a couple hours of limited game play in the beginning. It plays out like a interactive movie and could be rough if you're not expecting it. After that it's all open world fun.

Anytime you pick up a new weapon and drop the other, it will be available when you get back to your horse. I always check to make sure before leaving the area just in case.

I do that every time I find them. It's a perfect way to cut them down quick!

I'd think it nice if the game counted stats for you - like numbers killed, how, with what weapons etc.
When I notice I'm in a part of a mission where I'm free to roam and won't have bounty hunters shooting at me, I take the time to send a message (and loot). These were before I got that camera, so now I have a few selfies with the stacks lol
I was unimpressed when I checked the xbox stats. It only shows time played, story completion, total completion, and # of gold medals. I would love to know the body count!

@methodrik it's the same weapon wheel as GTA... You should've expected that...

@huningtonbbb Not sure about the exact mission you're referring to, but I've noticed certain missions will force certain guns.
I did one last night where I noticed I only had 1 gun on me. I hopped back on my horse to try and get another (wouldn't let me do it from the side) and it made me fail the mission (said I abandoned the gang). I did a retry and it wouldn't let me hold another gun. Forced it back to the horse before I got off.

Always do a manual save after anything important happens. This has saved my ass more times than I care to admit.

Quit restarting missions, and play the game... It's a lot more fun that way.

When your in the loading screen and your stuck do the following exactly as I explain it:
- Hit pause button
- Hit the down arrow 4 times
- Hit X or A (4 times) slowly. NOT FAST.
Once you do this, close application and restart the game it should work.

It's easy to get distracted, isn't it? I still haven't touched a lot of the side things (treasure hunting, challenges, etc). There's so much to explore.
