Without spoiling anything, are you able to roam the map right away?
Through reading around other threads, no.

One is the gun doesn't always fire even though there's ammo in it.
Sounds accurate to the guns in that period... I could understand that getting annoying, but it is realistic.

Yeah they sure are, like who even creates a web of lies for a review of a game?
Like I said:

What I REALLY don't understand is the people who voted those reviews as "helpful"... Those are the real di*ks.

How is someone running it on their laptop? Its not even out for PC... Where's Pravduh when you need it?
If you're referring to the review, the person is full of sh*t (I'm assuming). I wouldn't believe anything from a 0/10 review.

Take it to a specialist to see if they know what's up.
Other then that, you'd have to buy a new one.
A quick search on Ebay for used ones are usually $70-$200. Although i did see one on there going for $10...
I didn't explain that right lol
I bought it for <$60 on ebay for parts, but it works just fine. I did a factory reset and never found an issue with it. The power supply cost me more than the console.

If so, the benefit should be noticeable right?
I'm not sure that's accurate... As far as I know, xbox one is 1080p. (Looking into it)
I'm curious how different the S and X models are...1080 vs 4k (essentially)Edit: I have to stop reading, this is making me want to upgrade...
Original xbox one should be running 1080 as long as your display can.I'm finding a lot of conflicting information about this...Edit: https://www.polygon.com/2018/10/25/18022378/red-dead-redemption-2-ps4-pro-xbox-one-x-comparison
"The base Xbox One renders the game at a 864p resolution, which is by far the lowest of all four options. The PlayStation 4 version runs at a native 1080p; the PlayStation 4 Pro renders the game at 1920x2160, and then upscales it to 4K via what is likely checkerboard rendering, leading to a “softer” image.
But the Xbox One X is able to run Red Dead Redemption 2 at native 4K resolution, leading to the sharpest, highest-quality visuals of all four versions."

If there are no problems with your current Xbox. I wouldn't bother upgrading
What if the person you bought it from sold it "for parts only" but you could never figure out what the problem was...?
I have 2, I REALLY shouldn't be thinking about upgrading...

Well you know you can't take the money with you and there is only so much they upgrade on a casket, unless you got other responsibilities. Why not enjoy it now.
Yeah I'm only 25, there's a lot more than a casket I need to pay for...

Opinions are unless you upgrade both console and TV, no real reason to upgrade just one. Though those who have upgraded both, claim it is well worth the price to do.
Now you're tempting me... I bought a 65 inch 4k for my living room when I moved out, just in case. Now I feel like I should just give in and upgrade the xbox...
(searching amazon now...)
Edit: Still ~$400...

Damn, they REALLY want you to care for your horse... Watching your horse get hurt isn't quiet the same as watching your motorcycle fly into a building...

Yeah I saw that, sorry to hear man. Glad you got out of there at least, that's the important part.
My xbox is goofy sometimes with big installs. Sometimes it will install the whole game just fine, sometimes it installs 2g and stops.
Then again, you're installing off a disc... I have no idea. Is it getting hot?

A game should be reflecting real life
Maybe THIS game, I wouldn't say that as a blanket statement though. I'm not saying it shouldn't be in the game, I'm saying there are more important things to worry about. I'd rather them put more focus into the things I'm going to do often in the game. I'd MAYBE visit a brothel once, I plan on killing A LOT of people (in the game).

Hi
I currently have the original Xbox one, and a 1080P (non hdr) TV.
im not buying a new 4K tv anytime soon.
In the meantime: Is it worth upgrading to Xbox one X? Will I notice any visual and performance benefits on RDR2 on my 1080p tv?
I'd guess it would probably run smoother, but it would be the same (or close to it) visually. Probably not worth it in my opinion, but I also don't have my hands on the game yet...

Again, not needed, certainly. But why not include it? Because it’s too risqué?
Just think of it this way, the time the would've spent making those sex scenes (and all the extra animations and other bullsh*t they would have to code), was instead spent on:

and I'm okay with that. I can see/have sex anytime, I'll never be able to chop some dude up in slow mo...

Are you kidding me??
Lots of us ( @TheHansonGoons, @Truth, @Freddie Mercury, @BropolloCreed79, @NthnButAGoodTime) are migrants from the once extremely popular Friday the 13th: The Game forums.
There was about this much activity before the game was released, but when it DID release -- POW! The population absolutely exploded!
I expect no less with this forum.
I've noticed that we get a lot of "guests". Probably just waiting to see how release goes before making an account (or possibly buying the game). Whatever their reasons, at least there is decent traffic. Only a few members on at a time, but there's often 20+ guests on. WAY more than the F13 forums (I'm assuming).

Gamestop
I'd assume Gamestop is more aware of the problem (or cares more about it), and likely try to stay on top of it. They're barely hanging on as it is, for them to get busted leaking a game early would ruin them.
A place like walmart probably doesn't care so much. They don't rely on video game sales to stay open.

I won the Forum Giveaway (thanks again @Lonestar!!!), so I'm waiting for a physical copy... I just hope I get it in time, I don't mind having to wait all day for the download as long as I'll be able to play it the rest of the week. Otherwise I'll have to wait until I get home, which may get pushed back if we need more time... The suspense is killing me!

Shooting mechanics / gunplay
in Red Dead Redemption 2
Posted · Edited by Truth
Referring to guns not being entirely reliable back then (bullets not always firing). I can't say anything about the shooting itself, I haven't gotten home to play yet (or installed it).
