    Kisses,
    - Skunk

    I hate earbuds. Always have.

I also like to hear what's going on around me, so I got this set. Nothing fancy (the older model was better), more comfortable than earbuds, and not a crazy price. This is what I typically use if I'm gaming with friends.

I bought this set when I got PUBG because it has a "superhuman hearing" mode that amplifies enemy footsteps and stuff (I feel like I've mentioned this). It's an amazing headset, charges with my phone charger, totally wireless, surround sound, blah blah blah. It's awesome, but it was totally unnecessary. I barely played the game, and the headset is rarely used. Still great, but that money could've been used more wisely in my case. This one is really only worth using in fps/ (maybe) open world games.

Realistically, earbuds will work just fine. They're just not comfortable for me and I wanted something better than the ones that come with and xbox if you buy it new. Those always seemed crappy to me. Main feature I wanted was the mute switch/volume adjuster.

In Settings/Devices/Audio Devices/Output Devices, I chose 'TV or Amplifier (obviously) and in Settings/Sound and Screen/Audio Output Settings I chose HDMI OUT.  (It had been set to DIGITAL OUT - OPTICAL)  I think that was one major issue.

This makes me think I should go through my settings on xbox...

Still contemplating just getting a cheap mic so I don't need a headset though. I never thought about that until you brought it up yesterday. I'm sure I could make it work (without being "that guy") somehow...

One thing to consider is being "that guy" that has the background audio from the TV coming through their mic.  I've had some people I've played with online where they were apparently using their PS4 camera mic.  Everyone in the party could hear the audio from their TV and even our own voices which can get really annoying.  With a dedicated mic, you should be able to adjust that though since it will be next to you instead of the TV.   ....if you can find a solution that works in your scenario.

That's a VERY good point that should be considered.

OOOOH man that last link made me laugh so hard!  I tell ya my wife would appreciate that!

Not even sure what I searched to pull that up, but it made me laugh and I figured someone would appreciate it as well. Glad I was right lol

Thanks! The reviews are pretty good on this product so that gives me a little more confidence in it.

That was just one of many that popped up. More of an example than a suggestion.

I might even be able to find a wireless one to hook up via bluetooth to the PS4.

Wireless is always better (as long as it maintains connection). I've thought about getting some wireless speakers, but I've already bought a decent surround sound set that I haven't hooked up in years...

Now, if I could only find a device that drowns out my cursing while gaming so I don't wake my wife.....lmao

I got nothing for that, but my searches came up with this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Gears-Out-Love-Stinks-Relief/dp/B06XCMXRJB/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1532551471&sr=8-14&keywords=let+the+wife+sleep

Unrelated, but it might come in handy! I'm sure @BropolloCreed79 could use a few of those!

Personally, I wish I could just through a bluetooth on the coffee table like I did with the PS3.

That's an interesting idea... You could probably find just a microphone with a 3.5mm jack to plug into the controller. I'm guessing that could work. Never really thought about that...

Edit: You can, and they're cheap.

Honestly, I avoid it by blasting through it.

Luckily, I tend to have all my work assignments available days or even weeks beforehand. As soon as I get in for the day, I check emails and messages, then DIVE into my assignments and finish them quickly.

That really leaves me the rest of the day to do whatever.

That's a good way to do it.

The way things work for me: I get an order for something. I have a certain amount of time to do it depending on the order. I get the order done (usually early) and I can screw around until the time is up. I punch out, package the order, and grab the next one.

Nowadays I'm more comfortable than I should be screwing around before and after doing an order. I can slack off and no one really cares. They know I'll bust my ass when I need to and I'm the guy they send out (rarely, but when necessary) to fix things in the field. A few weeks ago I got to go to a customer and swap out a joint on a robot. Most days I can screw around a lot, days like that I can barely squeeze in a smoke break.

I also work for a smaller (family owned) company that's made it very clear they have no intentions of letting me go. Besides that, The owner literally told me that they don't like firing people. They would rather have a shitty employee that barely knows their job than fire them and get someone competent.

Avoid it? I need it lol If I try to avoid work, I won't make money. I guess you mean slacking off? Not an option for me. I'm a driver so unfortunately, the only slack off time I get is at red lights or on my lunch break.

Slacking off. I can't afford to takes days off anymore...

Can't imagine how you COULD slack off... Like you said, you don't really have the option. Now I kind of feel like a dick lol

Yeah, it does make sense. While both RDR and F13 are Rated M games -- the likelihood of having younger players interested in an Old West/Cowboy game is much greater than them being interested in a 1980's-era horror game.

I'm just glad I didn't get suspended lol

I have to say, I'm starting to miss some of those people. It's nice here and all, but it's so quiet... You should make a post on the f13 forums telling everyone to jump to safety before the ship sinks!

Plus, having you and @BropolloCreed79 is great, but you're still missing the 3rd stooge! Make sure Nthn gets the message! The guys at work are starting to think I'm depressed since they haven't heard me burst out laughing in a while!

See @Truth, now we're gonna have to be frickin' ROLE MODELS . . . *sigh!* If only they didn't admire us so . . .

    I'm a GREAT role model.

  9. I'm on xbox, so I can't help here too much. I would suggest going through your settings though. We have an option to play game chat (only other players, not your voice) through the tv AND headset, I would guess you probably have something similar. A cheap option (if that doesn't work) is to buy a splitter and a spare headset. I'd personally go with turtle beach. If you want immersion, go with a nice wireless set.

I carpet bombed the General section of the forum by necroing the oldest threads with timely responses.

Alright, I did see those. Didn't realize that was the reason for the suspension... They were pretty entertaining and definitely not worth suspending you for... Nothing that I read (from you) was a lie by any means. You dug up some dirt though, I'm sure they were very thankful for that. Can't have bad press when you're trying to squeeze every last penny out of a project, right?

Ben called my thread "abusive behavior" and I got 30 days. To be fair, he warned me (after I pmed him about it) that if I posted Alder's TEASER video again that he would suspend me. That's why I never posted the actual (full) video. Still not sure how that was "abusive behavior" though... His video wasn't even that bad for them. He kept it very respectful and only mentioned facts (that he could back up with proof).

I literally just go in there and take pot shots with the truth, that it anymore.

That's the only reason I hope I didn't get a permaban. I made another account (Lies) to f*ck around for a biut before they caught me, THEN realized they ban both accounts if you get caught. I got caught, but I never got an email saying I was banned. Now when I try to view the forums it says "banned" instead of "suspended"...

You have to turn them on under "Account Settings". Unlike F13, they're not on by default. But also unlike F13, this forum allows you many more options for customization.  I switched mine on and now I get all the notifications I want.

I had accidentally set that one to email. I was very happy to see all the options we have here.

My little "timeout" on F13 was the first time I was reprimanded in 20 years of online forum participation across dozens of games.  I think that little factoid speaks for itself.

I'm curious what happened there. I know things were pretty hectic for a while, but I missed whatever post(s) got you banned. Most posts got deleted...

Mine was for posting a thread asking "Who's interested in seeing a great video made by a member of this forum?"... Didn't even post the video.

As for the beans, I hear that the first 100 preorders for the "Ultimate Slasher Edition" comes with a bag of them! I can hold out another month! (that mask looks like shit btw)

  13. How do YOU avoid it?

Sometimes I get a shitty order at work and don't feel like doing it right away. I used to go to the F13 forums, but now I try to kill time here instead (not that I have much of a choice). Not very much discussion going on though, so I've also spent more than I should have on amazon lately lol

Let regular RDR Single-Player be your meat and potatoes. Let Undead Nightmare  be your "dessert".  ????

    Ugghhh... FINE...

I'm more of a "desert BEFORE dinner" kind of guy. How can you have any meat if you don't eat your pudding, right?

Disclaimer, if anyone takes offense to anything I have to say now, or in the future, blame @Cokeyskunk and @Truth, it's their fault I'm here.

    I didn't get a notification for this...

    Welcome, glad you made it!

Please don't look at my participation here like some sort of ominous sign

But the F13 forums aren't dead! They're as active as ever and the game is perfect!!! We're getting dedicated servers soon!!

If it helps, F13 is the only forums I've been active on. I got banned from SoT forums (literally for saying "GTFO") in the first few days and never really got back into it, so I don't really count that.

You're playing single-player now? I completed it when I got the game in 2010, and just started it over this month for a refresher. Can't believe how much I'm into it again! How far along are you in the campaign? I'm already working with Irish to get the gatling gun.

Got far enough that I was able to play poker lol

I just haven't been in a gaming mood lately. I'm trying though!

Also, it turns out I got the GOTY edition (which includes undead nightmare). Might give that a spin tonight.
