  1. It's funny.  I'm at work, and I've accomplished nothing because I've been building my character in my head all day, and drying to figure out which voice (Ultimate Warrior, Lennie Small, or Forest Gump) to use....

I suppose I better brew a whole pot of coffee when I get home.

I agree but Polygon and Kotaku are going to crow from the rooftops for some sort of PVE mode until they get it. Blips or not.

Well that's because you're reading Kotaku and Polygon.  That's like reading CNN or Fox News for unbiased political coverage.

Kotaku is... gross.  And Polygon is as irrelevant as a Nintendo Wii.

I don´t know if I can argue with you because I just got a warning for my previous post (Ye because Wild west means you just randomly shoot people to their backs without reason/warning ... ) for verbal abuse :D

That was a mistake--I  selected the wrong post.  Your warning has been removed, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

I say around 30% of the player base would want free aim.  Maybe more..

GTA O forums red dead section and Reddit is already getting people going to the support page and asking for free aim.

It's really the only way to balance the game based on skill.  AA and Deadeye are over-powered in this environment.

Many parents are fine with buying an M rated game for their kids, they might be put off by an AO rating.

You're funny.  You know damn well from Friday the 13th: The Game that there's parents who actually encourage small children who are barely outside of being toddlers to play inappropriate games.  A digital boob or a more, authentic expression of the "fun stuff" isn't going to deter these walking, talking arguments for population control.

How often would you go visit a prostitute in the game? Once? Twice? Is that worth the time and money to add?

I've been to her twice already. Granted, it was part of a "Stranger Quest" but still...

More layers of realism and immersion never hurts, and those complaining about sex in a R* game are people that would find other things to complain about anyway . Just like how the thing with the youtuber murdering the suffragette went way out of hand since the reactions from people shows that a lot of humanity lacks brains.

False equivalence.  I can turn off the game and "immerse" myself in the things consenting adults do without violating the law or another person's rights.

What I cannot do is go out and hogtie a woman and murder her.  The law, and common decency tend to frown on that sort of behavior, so save us the "immersion" argument.

My perspective is if it really adds to the game, fine.  If not, there isn't any loss.

Agreed.  However, I also posit that I'd much prefer the "real thing" than simulating it.  I play video games to do all the things I can't do in real life.  I can't ride a horse and fight rival outlaw gangs in the real world.

It's the reason we don't have a bestselling "parenting simulator"-nobody wants to play it.

Maybe that works for some, but I fall in the catagory where I stop playing this and go play something else.  I spend money for me to have fun.  PvP or Trolling what ever you want to call it, is becoming less fun, cause most players don't care to be the best, they just want to bully others.

I don't even have an issue with people ganking me (because it's SOOOOOOOO impressive when four guys ambush a solo player, that's some 1337 skills, right there) but this notion that everyone is viewable on the map constantly is nonsense.

Even The Division learned from that mistake with their PvP area, the Dark Zone.  Hopefully, R* takes note.

It's 1899.  Nobody is carrying a cellphone for the government to track.  There aren't any spy satellites.  And there's no surveillance equipment, apart from people's eyes, o I would think that unless people are in your field of vision, or part of your party, it would make more sense for them to not appear on the map or minimap unless they're making enough noise to be heard (like gunfire or dynamite).

Make sure you're just using regular ammo. Never had a problem using that.

You can also lasso most larger animals (with the exception of Bison) and walk them down while tied.  You get a prompt for a kill ("O" on PS4), and Arthur will knife them for a clean kill.

On a three star animal, it works every time.  No degradation of the hide.

Best ever made?  I wouldn't say that because there are other games I like for other reasons that don't really compare to RDR2.  .....they provide a different gaming experience.

I don't think I would consider any "one" game as the "best" but RDR2 will certainly go down as one of my favorites especially in this genre.  .....but then so did GTV5 and RDR1.

Halo: Combat Evolved is still #1 for me.  So perfectly ballanced it makes Thanos have to adjust his codpiece.

Ha ha, a few years from having a phone? Mine's 9 and has to have a phone. At least she texts in English and with punctuation.

He's going to have his own .22 before he has his own phone.  I need to see that he can be responsible enough to respect his possessions and treat them with the care they warrant.  Next summer, I'll take him to the farm and he'll get to shoot for the first time.   He already helps me clean my gun and pack my kit when I go deer hunting every year, and he should be ready for the increased level of responsibility.

  9. I don't think it's a fair comparison at this point because we have only experienced half (or less) of the game in that we haven't seen RDR2 Online as of yet.

Folks will have their reasons for supporting one over the other, but for me, the pacing of the story mode in RDR2 is vastly superior.  With few notable exceptions, the pacing is languid and allows me as a player to just soak in the ambiance that the game creates, enveloping me in it's atmosphere and titillating my appreciation for world building, story telling, and taking advantage of my appreciation for small nods and winks--there's so many of these that I couldn't even begin to elaborate on them here, but I play almost every day at this point for multiple hours a day, and I'm STILL only in Chapter 2, but still finding new things.

    I mean,

    Spoiler

The Evil Dead cabin being in the game?  Jesus, that's just blatantly pandering to my tastes.

what bugs me now is they can't put more than a few words in a text.  I get 10 texts for something they can do in 1 or maybe 2.  If i do it back to them I get "DAD! STOP!" lol

My oldest is only 8, so he's a few years from having a phone, but Ground Rule #1 is definitely going to be, "Thou Shall NOT Use Internet Slang Nor Colloquialisms When Messaging Thy Parents."

Neither Mrs. Creed nor myself use shorthand when texting.  Mrs. Creed's biggest sin is emoticons, but otherwise, we "Habla Ingles" and avoid shorthand because as former athletes (decades ago), we adhere to "you play how you practice".  It's solid advice for just about everything, and we stress it for our kids even when studying:  sit down and relax when studying, because when testing in school, the instructors don't allow you to walk around the room, use the restroom, eat, or glance at your phone/device.

The same can be said of writing habits.  If 75% of someone's communication is done via text, full of acronyms, shorthand, and emoticons, they will be functionally illiterate when they need to produce papers in an academic environment.  Practice how you want to play, indeed.

That's where i saw him first, up at the legendary fish spot near Annesburg.   you might have something there.

I feel like there's an opportunity here for a youtube series whereby you grab this guy with a lasso and toss him off of a bridge while saying "I think he's down there" or putting him on train tracks, dropping him over ledges, abandoning him at gang hideouts, etc...

And it does potentially get more complex with using scent concealers and bait, to help find it.

Anecdotally, I've found scent concealer to be a HUGE benefit, in that I have far less tracking to do than when I don't use it.
