    hello from Spain!

I'm wondering if the motion blur is related to the differences between PAL and NTSC.

From an article in September (emphasis mine):

The number of vertical lines or pixel rows dictates the detail in the image. The larger the number of vertical lines or pixel rows, the more detailed the image. The number of vertical lines or pixel rows is fixed within a system. The two main analog video systems are NTSC and PAL.

NTSC is based on a 525-line or pixel row, 60 fields/30 frames-per-second, at 60 Hz system for transmission and display of video images. In this system, each frame is displayed in two fields of 262 lines or pixel rows that are displayed alternately (interlaced). The two fields are combined so that each frame of video is displayed with 525 lines or pixel rows. NTSC was designated as the official analog video standard in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, some parts of Central and South America, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea.

PAL has been the dominant format in the World for analog television broadcasting and analog video display. PAL is based on a 625 line or pixel row, 50 field/25 frames a second, 50Hz system. The signal is interlaced, like NTSC into two fields, composed of 312 lines or pixel rows each. Since there are fewer frames (25) displayed per second, sometimes you can notice a slight flicker in the image, much like the flicker seen on projected film. However, PAL offers a slightly higher resolution image and better color stability than NTSC. Countries with roots in the PAL system include the U.K., Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, China, India, Australia, most of Africa and the Middle East.

He didn’t though, not to my knowledge at the least! I took a train to SD from emerald ranch and I was reading my book to pass time for the train to start moving. I’m sure they were just standing there by the train like they always do.

Unless you hitch your horse or stable it, it more often than not will attempt to follow the train as you ride it.

The same thing happened to me when

    Spoiler

I got on the train to talk to Billy Midnight.  My horse tried to follow the train and died (probably from a fall).

Like @Truth said:  always, ALWAYS manually save your game either directly before starting a mission/activity/raid or immediately after acquiring a unique item/pelt/trinket.  Mistakes happen.  I was able to reload my game and my horse was fine.  Lesson learned: I tied him to a hitching post and stole a wagon to get back to him.

Hard to tell, but there are 2 people cowering in fear behind the corpse wall in the second picture.

    Ok4wotv.jpg

The Murfee Boys make for a fantastic corpse wall.  The photo couldn't be closer because it's at the entrance of a cave, and I couldn't quite get the camera close enough.

Pro tip: the bodies stack easier if you burn them first.

Maybe I just not being clear enough.  Tracks stop, horse GONE.  If you use Hunters Vision.  It stops with the tracks.  It is GONE.  No where to be found.  Disappeared.  Zilch.  No be there.  Totally not on the map.   I haven't seen it since.

There's a predetermined "Zone" for Legendary spawns.  The first time I went after the Coyote, I chased it out of the zone, and a little message popped up that said "The animal has been chased from this area and will not return for some time".

I had to spend the night at a hotel and try again the next day.  Great success.  Maybe the Arabian is different, but there's definitely nothing more frustrating than  missing out on something like that and not finding another opportunity.

  5. Everyone in my office was talking about this today, which is pretty impressive given our diverse demography.

His autobiography is fascinating before you even get to the Marvel stuff-- the world lost one of the greats today.

Always be on the lookout for things you need, and get them while you can.

I keep a running list of the perfect hides that I need for crafting in the back of my head, and you'd better believe I ride with my varmit rifle at the ready when I'm going cross-country.  Keeping binoculars in-hand works wonders, too.

When I got into its area, I got a message saying so. I took too long looking for it. I got a message saying it had left the area and that it will be a while before it comes back. Sometime later, I came back to that area. But didn't find any sign of it, nor message saying it was around. I'll try again later.

Two tips: use scent blocker, and ride back to Strawberry (the nearest town) to bathe and stay the night.  It worked wonders for me, and I picked up the trail pretty quickly the next day.

Same thing happened with the coyote (that little sonofagun made me run all over the map tracking him after I SHOT HIM IN THE FACE).

Get behind cover and take on one enemy at a time.

This works so well it isn't even funny.  For all the talk of how immersive the game is, when I'm riding solo into a den of O'Driscolls, I NEVER actually ride all the way in.  I get that little indicator on my mini map of enemy combatants, tie my horse off in the distance, and approach slowly by leapfrogging from cover to cover with a rolling block rifle, repeater, and dynamite, ready to party.

For smaller engagements, like at campfires, I open with dynamite and finish up with a shotgun.

When raiding a den though?  A lot of sniping and a LOT of chew to replenish my Dead Eye.  If you're patient, you can wipe out fifteen to  twenty of them without breaking a sweat.  They can try to flank , but it never seems to be an issue if I'm using a repeater (or two).  I love the tactical thrill of a good old fashioned assault with cover to cover movement, pop shot mechanics, and strategic reloads.  If I want to charge them like a maniac and do flying leaps with a rocket launcher, I'll go play Halo.

But these magnificent fools did an amazing job with the combat.

Edit: there's also times when the game feels like this, despite everything I just said:

That would make sense, but I didn't even have dynamite yet...

      Reveal hidden contents

that was from the train robbery in the beginning of the game (just before free roam starts)

    You can purchase it

    Spoiler

from the Fence.  I also find it quite often in O'Driscoll camps after wiping them out with extreme prejudice (and a LOT of lead).

There's a dude in the bottom left without a face, and another in the middle with some black smudge instead of eyes and a nose.

I get that a lot.  Dynamite doesn't always leave a lot behind to work with.

I'm usually careful about what I report (don't want to be a pest) but given your response, I'll submit these in the future if I run across them.

    Thanks Creed.

Absolutely.  The reporting feature is there to call our attention to things, so I encourage everyone to use it to flag content that violates the rules.

For me, that goes double for spoilers and "click bait" or Solicitation.  Please Report these items IMMEDIATELY if encountered.  Nobody wants to be deceived into opening a thread for Youtube or Twitch pages.  Embedding a video into a post is one thing, but external links should be informative and not a blatant attempt to drive traffic to profit.

granted, you only need 70 medals.. but i don't want to ****ing tryhard all ****ing 106 missions just for 70 of em,

Fair point.  Personally, I find it ridiculous that we can't review the criteria for a gold medal performance BEFORE starting the mission, to avoid multiple attempts, but I also understand the reasoning for the decision; R* was clearly trying to give players as much creative freedom as possible (I tend to abuse that creativity and use sniper rifles and dynamite to excess) in attempting missions to avoid feeling constrained, but it'd be nice to be able to pick and choose which missions you'd like to "try-hard" on your first pass.

"this game is awful, so I sold it after playing for 100 hours"

    What?

I'd advocate that paying less than $1/hr to play ANY game is a great ROI, but that's just my perspective.

It's also curious as to why anyone would trade in or sell this game before the online portion is released.  Maybe the mechanics don't work for some, or maybe it's something else, but even if I HATED the story (which I don't), I'd at least wait until I'd played more than half the game to make a decision.

It's just occurred to me that I could be conflating two different weirdos:

      Hide contents

There's the bayou guy who knocks you out then rapes you, but there's an incestuous couple who drug you and rob you (maybe more?) and dump you in a grave hole.  Either way, they all end up being deaded - usually by melee weapons, which are more satisfying for revenge kills :)

It's an easy mistake to make.  The game is chock full of weirdos.  Did you happen to find:

    Spoiler

Watson's Cabin, northwest of Wallace Station?  Not as overtly creepy as everything else unless you read between the lines, and a little more overtly hostile towards you when you initiate the encounter, but still...

COD WWII is pretty fun.. split screen couch zombies kinda fun but still fun

At this point, I have about 50GB of useable space on my PS4 HD.  I don't plan on upgrading for awhile, so a hefty COD install is out of the question right now.

Plus, I'll need to start making some hard decisions in March when TCTD2 comes out.  I almost cried when I uninstalled the first one to make room for RDR2, so I'll probably bite the bullet and get a larger HD after the holidays.

The last REAL Call of Duty game that was SO fun was Black Ops 2.... the series pretty much ended there

    A-freaking-MEN!

That was the last CoD game I was heavily invested in.  I can't even play Destiny.  Halo: Reach was the last time I fell in love with a shooter.  Now, I gravitate towards ARPGs (God do I miss Marvel Heroes Omega).  RDR2 is basically a sandbox ARPG from my perspective, and it's so damn immersive, I lose myself in the game for HOURS at a time, literally doing NOTHING but exploring, hunting, and fishing.

I’m not talking about the legendary. I don’t give a flying dung about that right now. I’m just trying to make potent predator bait but I keep getting rock bass and those tiny peckrel fish things. I am using cheese bait at the river directly south east of Braithwaite Manor, next to panther spawn

Anecdotally, I've had success with Bluegill in standing bodies of water, like lakes or ponds, as opposed to moving water (rivers and streams).  Cheese definitely works, too.

    Spoiler

The Elysian Pool is where I got mine.

I'm going to go a step further; your conduct is blatantly rude and uncalled for. It takes just one small iota of common sense to realize you shouldn't be  posting results of missions in the forums for other players to read.

In fact, nothing was gained from your ridiculous post, not by the community and certainly not by yourself. In the future, perhaps you should stick to Reddit and the comments section of popular YouTuber's.

If this were the saloon, you'd be thrown out. Good day sir.

The "report post" feature flags content as reported by users.  Nobody flagged this, but I try to keep an eye on things.  When things get flagged, Moderators receive email reports, so we can fix the problem much quicker if reported.  I've edited both the title and OP of this thread, and will continue to do so as things like this pop up, but the response will be much quicker if things are reported going forward.

That goes for "soliciting" posts, too.  If someone creates a thread or post to bump viewership of their private Twitch or Youtube channel, a Discord server, or other service, please flag and report IMMEDIATELY.

    Obviously, as a free-speech fundamentalist liberal/libertarian I'm very biased!

That's not bias, that's being an American.  The First Amendment is kind of a big deal, that's why it's the "first" one, and not seventh or eighth.

Unfortunately, because ISP's are not regulated like utilities, and because companies/corporations are considered "legal individuals", they retain fundamental rights as well.  Among those is the right to restrict speech on a platform due to First Amendment privileges (which is convoluted, I know, but these are the times we live in).

EDIT you post and use the spoiler filter before a bunch of people rip you apart, Joking of course.. kinda

Simply titling a post "Spoiler Alert!!!" is baiting.  The question inside said spoiler was valid, but that's a "clickbait" title if nothing else.  We have the Spoiler Tool for a reason--a better title may have been something along the lines of "Potential Endgame Spoiler discussion".  Still broad, but with enough detail to give people a reason to click if they already finished the story.

Instead in this game I find myself starting something, traveling all the way across the map to complete that task and then have to travel all the way back to do the next task.  Like the Lord of the Rings novels, I spend more time traveling then enjoying the story.

I get it.  It's the main reason I'm still in Chapter 2.  I'll get a quest and start cutting cross-country (instead of sticking to roads), and suddenly, I"ve stumbled across an O'Driscoll hideout, or entered a Legendary Animal hunting ground, and the next ten to twenty minutes are gone in a blink--then I have to remember what I was working on like some sort of stoned out hippie.
