The law said introduce yerself, here I am.
Shouldn't there be a sticky thread for this, rather than making whole new topics?
First and foremost, welcome to the wild west @houseofcantor
We like to see new members post in the "Introduce Yourself" sub because we like to get to know people better. Also, we feel it gives people a chance to maybe talk about their gaming career, or why they really love the Red Dead series, and why they are passionate about certain games.
Again, welcome to the forum, and we hope you have the best experience possible here at RDR2.org
Respectfully,
DylBandit 😎

Now that it has come and went, we are nearing the most "wonderful" time of the year. The nightmare known as Black Friday...
I do Cyber Monday stuff but I would NEVER go out on Black Friday. You couldn't pay me to. People are crazy as it is and it is like they take steroids in their coffee that day.
I haven't attended Black Friday in years. The very last time I can remember is going to Walmart on Black Friday when the PlayStation 4 first released. I was lucky enough to get ahold of the console and I walked out with hundreds of people looking at me. My town shares good people and bad people, so there was a good mix there, and good thing I didn't get robbed on the spot, knowing all I hear is horror stories on Black Friday.

Honestly this game is amazing but the hunting system is atrocious, you can go to areas multiple times where it says an animal should be and it never show up but i can get over that. Lets talk about predator and herbivore bait; the fact that these are even in the game is so frusterating especially since they dont work and when they do you just wasted 20 minutes of your life for a 1 star chipmunk. Ive dumped hours into hunting in rdr2 and its the only time im playing the game and not enjoying myself
Hello @Theflash1
First and foremost, welcome to the forum!
This post was moved to Red Dead Redemption 2. Please make sure you post in the appropriate category.
Kind thanks 😎

I'm starting to understand it was a waste of time to talk to fanboys. I'm here trying to have a dialogue. Not change peoples mind. I LOVE the game. I've praised it. All I'm saying is that outside of the story the gameplay was unfinished. And instead of talking to me about it, you fanboys are just praising the genius of the game and telling me I don't have to like it.
You're the reason that game companies cut corners. You don't care about the quality of the product you're paying for. When they cut corners you praise it. You'll praise anything with your fanboy logo on it.
I've been doing this thread for months now.. But honestly, I think I'm out. Thanks guys for the good times. I'll be taking a break.
This forum consists of Red Dead Redemption 2 fans, as the website name clearly gives it away. However, people will respect you, unless you disrespect others. Regarding the premise of this topic, you stated your opinions, and people stated theirs without engaging hate towards your opinions.
You then wanted people to counter your personal viewpoints of the game, which is just bound to start a war zone in the comments. I'm sure other people wouldn't like to be insulted for liking a game series.
Knowing you been on the forum for a month, you should be very familiar with the forum rules regarding section "4" and "5": Harassment/hate posts & Bullying/trolling, which can be found here:

Unfortunately, we are going to have to separate your membership, as hate speech or bullying and insulting others is NEVER tolerated here at RDR2.org either with context or intent, it does not matter. We try to keep conversations civil and friendly.

They even said that they wanted players to experience the campaign first. ....to get used to the game world, mechanics and controls before diving into RDO.
Exactly.
The online wasn't ready, and they made a point that we could have time to finish the story and learn the game mechanics before we play Red Dead Online. It's a valid point to buy Rockstar time to finish Red Dead Online, as they said they are still in the works of developing it.

Dyl, it's not about fun! It's about the quality of the product we paid for. We can all agree that it was fun. I myself praised the story and acting.
It's about the quality of the game as a whole. And to be honest, there were way to many features that were underdeveloped it's clear to see the single player was not the focus of the game. I'm willing to bet their primary revenue from this game will come from Online. Much like GTA5. We paid for a single player game and we were given an incomplete product. The "single player features" I listed above are so limited they may as well have been left out of the game entirely. As for you, I get you're a fan, but every post you comment on you say the exact same thing. You talk about how fun the game is and ignore any complaints. So, why don't you take some of my points and refute them. Tell me how the economy in the game isn't broken. Tell me about how I'm wrong about NPC interactions. Tell me the body weight system is actually genius and way better than the body weight system in San Andreas. Stop telling me the games fun. Look at my points and refute them.
Yes, I am a fan of the Red Dead series. Also, the game is very fun, I don't have to counter your opinions and viewpoints of the game, because that's honestly not my problem, and that's your opinion. I shouldn't have to counter and debate every little thing your complaining about, it's either you simply like it, or you do not like it. Are you trying to make me force you to like the game? I'm very confused...
Everyone is entitled to their very own opinion about the game, you stated your opinions, and I stated mine.

Illusion. Perfect description of modern open world games. The illusion of players having choice and freedom.
I have to disagree on the game being overhyped though. The story is well deserving of the hype. It's the blatant lies about the open world that gets under my skin.
I went into this game pretty much with an open mind, and I really enjoyed it. Rockstar has really pushed the boundaries of the Red Dead series with this title, and I really think this game delivers a lot of cool options. Some people may find all these little features not fun to use, but honestly, it's very fun for me in my own personal opinion.

I love it. I don't think the maintenance of yourself and your things take that much time. I think it's great that you have to work for what you get.
The controls were a bit much to start with but I've got the hang of it pretty well now.
Some also complain that there's no fast travel (both ways at least) but I love riding through the landscape. So much is going on and I think you'd miss so much if you chose to fast travel. I will certainly not use it (very much) when it unlocks.
Personally, I think the Red Dead series needed to make progression, and this is why I think Rockstar added all of these features into the game. I think Rockstar really wanted to push this game to be more advanced for players because as a gaming community, we all want innovation and new ways to play. If developers keep on releasing the same exact simple thing, it would get boring very fast. This system is awesome because it makes you concentrate on many things at once, not just one simple thing, which I love about the game considering I love to actively do stuff and multitask.

I am guessing we won't know the exact day and time it will launch until a few days before it happens...
Or maybe they will just spring it on all of us out of nowhere. I think I might prefer that. Be like a surprise.
Finished or not, I think it was a good move to wait on the online because of the story mode. I feel like if both were to come out on the same day, I would feel rushed.

There are certain games that I enjoy playing online. Ones built for it at the core of the game. I think the reason I get put off by these kinds of games is the community that tends to invade them. Not you guys but like the raging children and the try-hards who treat online gaming like it is a job when they make $0 for it.
There's only one community that really pushed me away long and far, and that is the Call of Duty community.

I'm trying to play as a good guy to keep my honor up. But I was wondering, if you decided to play as a bad guy and killed everyone you saw in farmhouses, towns, roads, etc, would all the NPC's in the world stay dead? Or do they re-spawn?
The eventually respawn.

Gold duplicate glitch, instant $15,000 everytime. Ruins the game of earning money though. You can find the glitch on google.com

They better fix quick those glitches, blurry visuals and missing dlc - that's a lot of potential complaining buyers.
Indeed. Hopefully, they can at least give us a confirmation that they are well aware of the issue and fixing it immediately.

During the actual first playthrough of the game, I never punched my horse. However, once I discovered the funny events that occur after doing so, I tried it for a laugh.
Very enjoyable. Sort of?

Exactly. You have to figure it is a two-way street too. A bug, glitch, or issue may be happening because of the system it is running on and not the game. I am thoroughly impressed with what they did here.
Strongly agree.

In case anyone is wondering, Rockstar confirmed the beta for online will go live at the end of November. I am assuming this will be after Thanksgiving.
So there is no official date, but at least for anyone wondering, you now know when to expect to be able to play. 👍
EDIT: Can one of the mods please move this... I just posted it in the wrong section after telling someone else they posted in the wrong section... ffs lol
Moved thread to Red Dead Online.

He keeps being referred to as old by the younger characters, and keeps moaning about his age all the time himself. But he hasn't got grey hair, which seems anomalous.
I believe offically he's sooposed to be 36, but I would have pegged him at 42 (though oddly without any grey hair).
He's around 50-year-olds.

im on One X and I have had no fps problems in towns...at all. Im using a "premium" (high speed) hdmi cable instead of the one that came with the console....tv is tcl 5 series with game mode on. Dont know if any of this will make a difference for you....or if it even matters...just putting it out there
Does not matter, It's strictly a CPU thing. The game has so many things going on that it really puts the CPU to the test. Are you sure you're not having any FPS drops? This problem is still a thing for both PS4 Pro & Xbox One X, there is a video on YouTube testing both consoles for frame drops. Every console on the market both PlayStation and Xbox are having this issue when going into towns. The consoles simply do not hold a solid 30 frames a second when entering towns, it usually dips roughly to the 25-28 fps range.
Here is a video by Digital Foundry testing all consoles when playing Red Dead Redemption 2.

Starting in Beta phase
in Red Dead Online
Posted
I highly believe that your stats will not be reset, and I think Rockstar is smart enough not to do such a thing. Honestly, I think the Red Dead Online will be the REAL thing, but the updated version name will say "Beta" and they will keep making updates to it. Once they are a month or so in Red Dead Online, the version of the patch will no longer say "Beta" rather the actual version.
For example, The beta versions will say "version 1.00(beta)" and the final version of Red Dead Online will say "version 1.02" (without the word beta in it) if that makes sense. This is just my guess on it.
