That won’t mess up me going thru the main storyline will it? And by that rationale, for every gold medal I get, I’ll hsve to create a save? Or would I be able to overwrite the current save so I don’t have a lot of saves taking up space?
You will be able to keep overwriting the save without a problem.

How do I keep a gold medal once I get one? I got one and when I went back to replay another mission it went back to the medal I originally got on that mission which was silver. Any help or advice on making sure I keep credit for doing them would be much appreciated
Did you try saving the game when you had the gold metal before you started playing another mission?
Try that.

You cannot prevent Arthur from passing away unfortunately, and there is nothing to prevent this. Just enjoy the game and it take it slow, you never know how long a character has in the game.

Thx, I was guessing around november 20th but can't find nothing official from R*
Hopefully very soon, I already finished the game, and I need more!
But right now, I'm just free roaming, so it's fine. I'll just hunt and complete challenges for now 😎

OK so I was riding south to Rhodes at night and:
riding along the rail tracks. I heard a low kind of train whistle somewhere in the distance, so I moved off the track but then rode through a patch of smoke. Suddenly a ghost train passed right through me. It was virtually transparent, almost looked like it was made of smoke. I managed to watch it disappear into the distance too.
Scary.
You know what's really creepy? Try finding the naked wolf man in the cave, he's so weird and creepy.

Kind of reminds me of Walter White in a way.

I just want to be able to go on group missions with other people and play all the mini games they have to offer. I think it will be a lot of fun just messing about with your own gang.
Yes, that would be fun.

I am just generally most excited to see what they have done that will set it apart from GTA V. Like I know there will be a lot of things that are similar but given the feedback and tinkering they got to do, I would expect it to have some really cool new features.
You and I both!

Howdy there partner! I am around 50% as well. I been so busy with work that I am surprised I got this far. I wasn't expecting to beat the game till December but I have to be close to the end of the story. I will have to go back through and do all the side missions and what not that I skipped.
Welcome to the wild west @Stackcluster
I completed the story and epilogue already, what an amazing game. Once you reach Saint Denis, that's when the story starts getting crazy good. Also, don't forget to watch the ending credits when you finish the game, I nearly bawled my eyes out.

Ok, so I literally just walked out of this thing 45 mins ago, just got home. Got tired of my wife making excuses to not go, so I went by myself. And, I was the ONLY ONE in the theater! hahaha Was kinda cool actually! I mean I've been to movies with like only 6 or 7 people in the theater before, but never by myself! Sat in the back row dead smack in the middle.
So, now, the movie...I really really enjoyed it! Now, being a fan of Michael Myers for about 35 years or so, I know how The Shape walks, and acts in every movie. Obviously the original is the best, but I thought that the actor playing him was little too robotic. He still did a great job though, better than most of the guys that played him. Was nice that he wasn't 7 ft tall and 300 lbs. I thought that the story line was very well written. And it wasn't a typical cheeseball horror plot with dumb blondes, etc. They focused on the cool kills and the story. Was very impressed. Now I have to act surprised when my wife finally gets around to saying we should go lmao I used the change jar to pay so no traceability. Shhhhhh lol 😆
I really enjoyed the movie, glad you enjoyed it yourself as well!

Best game i have ever played, hands down. I'm 42 and played alot of games in my years, looking forward to the PC release to replay it (i'm 90% done in the story). I do see a number of negative reviews on a number of sites and i simply put it down to individuals expectations. Some people like to play games where you aim and shoot repetitively (im not saying there is anything wrong with that) and some people want a deeper more meaniful immersion but it all comes down to how well it allows the player to escape, to immerse themselves into the game and enjoy it for what it is. I can't recall any game giving me as much enjoyment as this game has so far (on XBOX One X) but can't wait for the PC version where alot of the glitches will be fixed and the graphics will be pumped up to 100% with my RTX2080 !!!
Your not alone mate, if people can't see the effort and worth in this game then i feel sorry for them because what i got from it was astounding and gives me hope for what is to come over the next 20 years in gaming.... Be grateful you enjoyed it so much and feel sorry for those who don't.

Playing the first 70% of the story as Arthur Morgan is a nice twist and closing out going back to playing John Marston from RDR was a great change of pace.
I'm nowhere near as informed on RDR as i would need to be to argue with your comments regarding 1 v 2 but would be interested to know the details that dragged it down for you.
Haven't had this much fun on PS4 in a long time.

My weapons of choices in hunting is bow or tomahawk. These weapons are quiet and will help you keep the animal near so you don't scare them away using a loud gun if you miss.
The tomahawk is a great weapon to use when riding on the horse, and you see animals passing or running away. One clear throw at the animal and they are dead instantly and you can retrieve your tomahawk.

Is it just me or is getting the 2’nd deer killed successfully in this mission pretty tough? For those that have done it successfully could you tell me what you did?
The 2nd deer, I just slowly followed the trail to where the deer is, and I got close enough with the bow and I got it. If you hold the bow way to long, you will struggle and miss. Get into position far enough away, but not to far, draw your bow, and make a simple clean kill. Don't over complicate the shot, or you will miss.
Also, don't try and kill the bear towards the end of the mission, you won't kill it, and it will most likely kill you because it's wicked fast.
Good luck!

Hey all,
I wanted to make this post to get things off of my mind, and I wanted to do this thread so people can discuss about this. Okay, so I've noticed a lot of people are targeting Rockstar and criticizing them and pointing out their flaws. Honestly, I don't mind the talk of things Rockstar did wrong in the game, but why not talk about the things Rockstar did right? I am so tired of people pointing out flaws, and complaining more than my 3 year old sister does. This game is amazing, is it perfect? Absolutely not, but neither was Grand Theft Auto V or Grand Theft Auto IV, which both are LEGENDARY games. But, let's stick to the parameters of this discussion. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a great game, and most people can't see past the minor issues this game has and it's an absolute SHAME. I see more people criticizing rather than embracing this game. This game has so many more positives than negatives, yet people are complaining about them like it's the end of the world, and won't give Rockstar a chance to improve the game.
Yeah, this game has been in the works for a very long time, can't you see that in the craftsmanship and detail in the game along with the amazing story? The Red Dead series has improved in so many ways. The hunting is far and beyond what it use to be in the previous Red Dead title, the customization is far more better, the motion capture is amazing, the gun play and horse riding experience is absolutely phenomenal. All of these good positives in the game, and yet people complain over how long missions take, and how horses can't run in between trees? Come on guys, half of the games these days can't even meet half of the expectations Rockstar's games has from their fans. Most games now a days are released with the same exact thing with almost no improvement in their own series, filled with micro-transactions, and HELL some of them don't even contain a FREAKING campaign with NO beneficial message.
Before people start saying I'm biased and I'm only defending the game, well I hate to break it to you, I AM defending the game. Most people walk all over this game because they have complaints everywhere on the littlest things, and it's a shame how the littlest things ruin the game for them, when this game beats and demolishes almost all of the games released this generation. Not every game is perfect, and I understand videos games are subjective. Some people may not like the game because of the change in pace, that's fine. Some people may not like the game because theirs so much cut scenes, and you have to be careful about the lawmen attacking you, and you have to keep an eye on your health, and you have to hold medicine and things so you can revive yourself and help your horse, that's fine. It's a different type of style of game, this isn't a fast paced Call of Duty shooter, or a Fortnite game. This is a wild west game where things are slow, traveling takes time, and things are way different. But, when people walk on this game for the smallest little detail of error, they automatically hate this game so much to the point they start jumping on forums, bashing the game, and start attacking people with rude remarks, and hate filled comments, that's when things REALLY gets to me and shows where the gaming community has landed. Whatever happened to the appreciation of innovation? Unreal.
I've been playing video games all of my life, and I will continue to support studios and games that are actually good and worth playing, because that's the heart and soul of gaming. Most people are so into fast pace, super competitive games, so much to the point where they can't respect a different genre of games. I would always give credit where it's due, even if I don't like the game. I honestly didn't like Skyrim when it came out, but I still gave it credit for being a super amazing game that changed everything for RPGs. Just because it didn't reach MY expectations of the game, doesn't mean I'm going to sit there and bash on it like its the end of the world, and kill my fingers typing on forums talking bad about people, and shout out the minor flaws saying it's the worst thing that ever spawned on earth.
Okay, now that most of this is off my chest, I could hopefully make my views clear to people, and maybe convince someone who hated the littlest things about the game to maybe look at the bigger picture.

Damn. Well, they should know better but at least some good came of it. I had no idea this even happened. So Rockstar was the ones that donated it then?
Yes and no, Rockstar made a case, TrustReview's payed, Rockstar gave the funds to charity.

every mission sucks.. you set your gear up, save, start the mission, then reload for whate ver reason and you have to set your gear up again, you die on a mission you have to wade through hours of pointless cutscenery for a 2 minute shootout with ****ing stupid criteria. im so close to trading the game in i've wasted the last 6 hrs of my life doing **** all but getting silver medals and i don't even know why so... the game doesn't tell you, doesn't give u any hints at all, you go to the help section, combat and it says "you can use melee combat" LOL seriously made by a gang of monkeys. you can grapple and throw and do **** tons of sh*t, where the info? why force us to figure all this sh*t out during story missions with time limits lol. i'll just trade it in, like i have every rockstar game i've ever bought, i knew it was a waste of both my time and cash.
Set up gear? Each mission is so easy I can do it with my eyes closed, you don't need any gear except a few guns, and maybe health boosting, which almost costs nothing that the general store?
Cut scenes are what we like to see, the story is great if you pay attention. It's super easy to learn the controls if you think it's hard to play and if you keep dying on missions, maybe go out to a empty spot on the map, and learn the controls and how to play before you enter missions. I only died like 3 times during missions the ENTIRE game, it's really not hard. Cut scenes don't last that long, and even if it does, I embrace it, because I love the acting and story.

Hey guys, I've never played Red Dead & contemplating buying it. However I'm curious, do I need to play the first one? Just I hate missing storylines or are the two independent of one another? Thanks in advance. Also is the game honestly worth it? I know this is a biased forum but I don't delve into new franchises often.
Also, welcome to the forum!

You can play Red Dead Redemption 2 first because its a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption. After you beat the new game, then you can play the original Red Dead Redemption.
Also, yes the game is worth it, its a must buy in my books. The story is amazing on its own.

I'd love the co-op idea more than split screen but I get the desire for a couch co-op option. The only problem isn't that devs simply don't want to explore "old school" idea s like this but as @BropolloCreed79alluded to, it would be heavily taxing on your system especially with a game like this.
The 2-4 player co-op in campaign would have been awesome though. I still hope RDO has more of a focus on co-op gameplay than their previous titles. I prefer co-op PvE over adversarial PvP.
Yeah same here.

No main missions went away from me, however side missions will go away in my experience.
