    Hello Everyone,

I work at Rockstar and just wanted to clear a few issues up.

Rockstar has taken notice of everyone's complaints, but I can confirm that no one is working on a patch to resolve this particular problem as of today.

I was at a meeting today and it got brought up, and the general gist was that it wasn't a big enough problem to be considered a priority.

As an owner of a playstation, I urge everyone to spread this issue on social media to get the proper attention and resolution.

Quite frankly, with the number of copies sold so far, it's not a surprise Rockstar isn't taking this seriously, and I feel it's on us as gamers to stand up for ourselves sometimes.

     Good luck

    Proof of employment please.

    Hi

Yes i get the exact same problem on my PS4 standard on my OLED TV.  I've even tried to re-hi the game completely to no avail.

As soon as i enter valentine it starts to judder like its about to crash

I hope they fix it soon

I have faith that they will.

Yeah the FPS feels really low in the towns. Saint Denis feels the worst like 15 FPS...

If I remember right, they had this same issue in RDR1 and removed some of the people in the towns to smooth the FPS.

They would have to remove people, or maybe even remove the dust effects, or even lower the resolution if they have to.

Graphic options in the menu would be nice to have so we could lower the activity in these towns.

The frame drop is because they have to many objects and things going on at once with heavy detail and it's straining our consoles hardware, that's how much detailed this game is haha

So i bought a new one x for this game and the framerate seems Not so Fluid, like every test site teils it.

Some people say it runs better on a ps4 pro in 1080p that makes me sad.

I bought this console to have the best experiences. Hope they fix it.

Rockstar has a lot of things to fix, so hopefully they fix up all the flaws.

I'd be curious to view gameplay footage from those with the issue to see if it's worse for others or simply due to personal perspective. While I noticed a bit while spinning around in Valentine (trying to replicate the problem) it's nowhere near a point where it affects the game for me.  In fact, until this thread, I never really noticed it until I purposely tried to replicate it. I mean, I've played games where FPS dropped noticeably and made the experience frustrating.  .....but not in this case or at least not yet.

Yeah it's a minor issue for me.

I have the same issue when I am entering a busy town. The game is struggling when you are with a lot of people in a small place. The frame drop happens to me in Valentine but also sometimes in camp when everybody is there. Hope Rockstar have noticed it so it can be fixed very soon. The game is absolutely beautiful but the frame drop is my only issue

    Yes same

  7. Frame drop is common with the consoles because the game strains our systems CPU and graphics card device. Hopefully for the next generation of consoles, this issue will be resolved and we can hold a solid 60 frames per second.

If they trim out some of the extra stuff so our systems will run better, they have to take away somethings. There is just simply to many objects and things going on with heavy detail in which causes the frame rate to drop.

I have been playing the game for 3 days or so and am still in Valentine. The housing development below valentine is where I encounter the o Driscoll gang fighting some family, so I killed the gang and went to talk to one of the people. Unfortunately, I accidentally shot one of the family members and now they will not talk to me. Keep in mind this is after 2 full days of playing. Is there some way to fix this or have I permanently ended this quest? Also, there is a man in the main saloon who is cursing out the others and looks like he is someone of interest, is he? Or is it just an unusually detailed NPC (he were the raccoon hat I think). On a side note, I am loving this game. I have spent most of my time riding around with the mini-map off, which has made me memorize the local roads in and around valentine. It’s awesome,  and I have hardly touched the story. Instead, I feed the camp and go into town every few in-game nights to bathe and eat, it’s all so amazing. I never imagined myself enjoying this so much, since I am the type of player that usually likes to keep things moving but at least for now I am going for 100% immersion and it’s paying off. Hope you all are enjoying this as much as I am, and I know that the pacing of the game is not for everyone.

If you shot the people you are trying to help, and the game automatically saves, I think the quest is no longer valid. I'm not 100% certain.

Agreed. That, and no target cycling are my only complaints regarding this area. It most certainly seems though that all of these choices were intentional, so I doubt they do anything to change it.

They might by request from enough people, they will change something for the majority, not the minority.

Also, I noticed targeting cycle isn't in the game, but I changed my targeting from "normal" to "wide" and I've noticed the auto-aim selects the enemy from a wider range. This helps because you don't have to aim near the enemy to activate the auto-aim, it can detect the enemy at wider ranges, so its a lot easier to take out lots of enemies.

I am new to RDR and I am signing up here to help increase our Red Dead Online experience. I am with a GTA crew that has been playing together for five years in january. I know our leader signed up here a few months ago as well @JustHatched

Most of our members will be playing RDR2 as well so we are now looking for new people to play with and against :)

We have been doing everything from our daily/weekly events to series and tournaments for the last years, all in GTA. We hope to carry our mature and respectful fun over to the wild west as well.

I am happy to have found this place and cant wait to see what we can do together once online drops!

Hey everyone, my name is Melissa but everyone I know calls me by my childhood nickname of "Moosh". I recently turned 29 years old and I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. I am also physically disabled and use a power wheelchair. I've always been a big gamer, I'm the youngest of 5 kids and I mostly gamed with my brothers growing up.

I live somewhat rural with my parents. Growing up, my Dad and sister had many horses, with both of them competing in local rodeo events, my Dad as a chariot and chuckwagon racer for many years and my sister as a chariot and barrel racer and recently roping or team roping. My Dad recently sold all of his horses and returned to his first obsession, motorcycles. It was getting to be too difficult to manage a rodeo career by himself as chuckwagon racing requires a large number of barn hands and relief drivers/holders.

Back in 2009-2010 I was eagerly anticipating Red Dead Redemption. I was a regular member on the IGN RDR forums. The day my brother drove to our nearest EB Games/Gamestop store to pick up my preorder for me (a 1.5 hour drive one way), I had the game spoiled, 2 hours before I even got it in hand. I was pretty miffed. I played it for a week or so but it also felt really depressing and there was a lot of dark/creepiness to it, which bothered me. I ended up shelving the game for about 2 years before dusting it off and finally forcing myself to finish it. I was gutted since I waited for it with such enthusiasm and was severely let down. So when RDR2 started picking up steam in development, I was VERY cautious.

So far, I haven't had it spoiled yet and I'm really enjoying it a lot! There's some creepiness here and there but the game seems much lighter in tone than RDR1 which is great.

I'm really glad I found this forum as the IGN boards are dead, and there seems to be a very active effort to shield spoilers around here, which is a HUGE relief!

I think I'll like it here...

Welcome to the wild west @Moosh89

Yes, and at best its just an “issue” that wouldve needed addressing all along, dating back to gta v. I do hope they do something about it, therefore I acknowledge it, but these people pretending its a new issue and spreading misinformation about it are just wrong and trollish.

I'm glad they used the RAGE engine in this game, I couldn't see a Red Dead Redemption with a different engine. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the weapon sway because it's just so annoying when your trying to take large amounts of people out.

I found one panther down by catfish Jacksons, apparently I didn’t shoot it with the right weapon and it’s only a “good pelt”. Now I can’t find another panther. Is there only one?

Go to this location and look for a panther.

Lol, as you can see from what Ive posted before, that does not apply to me. I am far from a fanboy. I just quoted the part about this “clunky controls” which makes no sense seeing as how it feels nearly identical to recent rockstar games such as gta v.

It very much is identical, the only difference is, Red Dead Redemption 2 has more weapon sway when your walking and aiming.

This game is epic in scope, but horribly flawed.  80% of the game is simply manual riding, the movement is clunky at best, and much of it is simply a waste of time. That being said, most great games address these issues immediately. I've already sparred with the rdr fans who cannot see fault no matter what. The game has such potential...why not patch up the leaks and make it an actually great game?

Again, the game is massive, everything isn't going to be perfect at first. The same thing with GTA 5 had like 6-7 years in development and that still wasn't perfect at launch. The game has plenty of alternatives to manual riding. You have fast travel and the cinematic mode. Also, if you really don't like the game, just don't play it. 🤷‍♀️
