Anyone know where I can find a fishing pole, even a fisherman ?
Once you do the jack mission, which is decently early in the game, fishing will be available so you can catch fish and use them to donate to camp, or cook and eat them.

Not much to say really. Im not a big fan of gaming consoles but I bought a PS4 pro for Spider-Man and Red Dead Redemption 2. Hopefully if comes out on PC, I don't know why they wouldn't though. I mainly play on PC but most of my buddies have a PS4. Other than that, I program fire sticks and sell Decals online. If you ever need a decal done just let me know, I've done a lot for computers and consoles...Oh and my name is Joey
Welcome to the wild west @jmp7624

Prepare yourself for a LOT of steps 1-6.
I'm sorry you don't enjoy the game, that must suck. Well, some people are different I guess about what's fun and what's not. Hopefully Read Dead Online is more your thing.

Yeah so you're ahead of me right now. So far I'm enjoying the game, this game is a lot slower, and it's something you have to be really into. Sometimes the missions can feel repetitive at sometimes, but then we got missions that are different and that refreshes the mood, at least for me.

I said some time ago, in the depths of another post, that I've never been that interested in Rockstar's story modes and missions. This came much to the horror of some, but there's always been a reason for it, and sadly, RDR2 is no exception.
There's no doubt that their story telling is good, but their application of that story into a compelling mission-based game, to me, is very poor.
Here is the Rockstar mission template:
- Get an idea about a thing
- Ride 20 minutes to place
- Do the thing
- Thing goes wrong
- Have to cover behind a wall and shoot 80 guys to escape
- Have to shoot more guys as you ride to safety
It's boring. I physically rolled my eyes yesterday as Arthur so predictably ran to cover in a cutscene and initiated step 5. At that point you're just going through the motions – shoot some guys, reload a hundred times, follow the yellow dot, shoot some more guys, ride away, turn back, shoot the guys chasing you. "There's more coming from the left!" Yawn.
However you look at it, it's an antiquated method and lacks any kind of subtlety and grace. This may come as an unpopular opinion to some, but it's dull and tedious.
For a game that's taken 8 years to build and is supposedly "revolutionising gaming", for me it's no more than RDR1 but with better graphics and a few more features.
Shame.
Not everything is run and gun, there is a lot of other varieties in the game as well such as fishing, hunting, gathering supplies, robbing banks and trains, gathering animals into a certain area, and escort them, sneak around people and go to a certain place. It's a very long story so most of the game could seem somewhat repetitive.
May I ask what chapter you are on?

Ok so at level 2, you unlock the ability to rear your horse. Is there any point to it? All it seems to do is work him up. Then you have to pat him and calm him down... Is there some advantage to the worked up state?
Not sure.

I purchase the digital special edition of red dead redemption, both ad-dons automatically installed the pre-order and the special edition file. I started a new game after I disable the special edition, but it seems like I mess up and it was still in the systems. I delete it again, cause I don't want the free weapons from the gunsmiths, but they are still showing up as $0 dollars. Do I have to repeat the game again with the deleted ad-dons for those stupid 3 guns to have value again on the gunsmith. I only bough the special edition for the "Bank robbery mission and gang hideout in story mode. When I go to settings and I disable game-play boosts and cash bonus discounts it only affects the discounts to upgrade the camp.
What do I have to do to disable those 3 free weapons from the gunsmith : Volcanic pistol, varmint rifle and pump action shotgun. Without restarting from the beginning. Why do they make all the bonuses for the special edition come together in a single ad-don download. Should, I just get a refund and get the standard edition, since there is no option to disable all those early cheats when pre-ordering and getting the special edition of the game.
May I ask why not having free guns is good thing?

It's a marathon, not a sprint. Not 'fast traveling' everywhere at a moment's notice is part of its charm and reward.
Your horse isn't nearby? That's because it isn't, so you have to walk.
Enjoy the world, pick the flowers.
I think my horse was left behind once, I then stole another horse, and made my way near MY horse. But, now that I have unlocked the stagecoach, I can now fast travel for a small amount of money, and go to any town instantly. Once you arrive at the town, the horse is waiting for you when you get off. When you first begin the game, everything takes work, and somethings are a pain. You have to work your way up to get the luxuries.
It's the wild west. GOODBYE FLYING CARS AND MOTORCYCLES. (Yes that is a GTA reference.)

I’ve been trying to hunt the legendary buck, north west of strawberry and every time I enter the area of the animal, instead of allowing me to track it it says there is too much activity to track the animal. I figured it meant there were too many other animals around to pick up a clear trace. I killed every living thing in sight and still got the same message. There was also a gang hideout so I killed the guys there and then left the area and returned, the camp was gone but still the same message. I have no idea how to get around it. Has anyone else had this problem? And gotten around it?
Nope, haven't tried it to hunt the buck yet. Maybe it's a bug?

It's a party out here in my house. Beer, snacks, pizza, and Red Dead Redemption 2. What are you guys up to tonight?

You're right
FYI
I think I realize whats happening. I think I am in Third Person, but my character is invisible, so it appears to me that I am in first person. I know im invisible because as I play, i am not getting shot by any of the driscol gang even though im right in front of them. Also when I loot dead guys, they appear to be levitating off the ground rather than my character lifting them off the ground. Also, when I interact with objects, they appear to be floating in the air and moving on thier own,but really my character is guiding them.
Hey At least I aint gettin shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's very weird. Yeah, your touch pad should change you into 3rd person, I haven't had a problem. Maybe check your controls in settings make your your on default? Or maybe you have a fault in your touch pad button.

Hey, so I figured out the issue by testing and you’ll hate the results but your controller is probably busted, I had the same issue as you did. You can switch the control schemes to test for yourself by going to controls and switching it to a different layout (example, if you use standard FPS, use Southpaw). This can also affect shotguns, bows, and lassoing so it’s a good idea to check. Rockstar Games uses pretty sensitive controller schemes when making their games so most likely you’ll need a new controller. Hope I was able to help!
Yeah it worked fine on my game. Lightly hold R2 until it's filled up, and then pop a shot.

I watched the 6 movies or "episodes". I never seen any of the new ones. While I did enjoy the first 6, I was never a huge fan of the franchise like I know many people are. Don't get me wrong, the movies are good and I see the appeal but it just isn't something for me to fangirl over.
Yeah, that's understandable. Most of us grew up with Star Wars, you have people that were teenagers or little kids going to see the originals when they came out, or you have this generations youth growing up watching Star Wars. In my case, Star Wars has been apart of me when I was growing up, and I still like them today, as I'm 20 years young. I guess it's a sense of nostalgia in a way, and brings back lots of memories when I was kid, watching all the movies, playing all the Star Wars games on the PS2, and playing with action figures when I was a young one.

Hello,
I really think Red Dead Redemption 2 could well be game of the year. I really think the story mode is great, lots of eye candy scenery, great graphics in general, awesome game play, horse dynamics is amazing, so many options and customization from the previous Red Dead Redemption, and I think Red Dead Online will be the icing on the cake. If the Red Dead Online is legendary and better than GTA Online, this game would destroy everything that is out right now for the consoles. In my honest opinion, Rockstar is far away from done with this game, this game will just keep getting better and better and I cannot wait to see how Red Dead Online plays out to be.

Red Dead Redemption 2 in my opinion so far, not entirely done with the game, and the online isn't out yet. But, it's way more advanced, and you can do so much more in the new game, and it looks a million times better, with a great story.

As much as I love the first one, this is well on its way to top it for me. I won't say it is better yet overall. I know graphics wise it is but I will give my thoughts on it fully after I finish it. I'll start a thread for this actually. I know it will be some time before any of us finish it but it will be fun to discuss it along the way.
Usually game developers fool the gamer with their mistakes with graphics. NOT ME! I SEE RIGHT THROUGH IT. Haha, but no seriously, my main thing isn't the graphics, it's mainly gameplay and the story. I love the story and gameplay so far, and I have definitely recognize the graphics. ITS PURE EYE CANDY. Which is why I think this game deserves game of the year.
Plays good, story is good so far, and it looks good. The most key elements in a game, and most games come half way. It should go story, gameplay, graphics. In that specific order.
If the gameplay is sh*t, and the graphics are sh*t, AT THE VERY LEAST MAKE IT HAVE A GOOD STORY!

See Bethesda this is how you innovate a franchise in this genre. And this is how you make a sequel to a pinnacle game title. Thank you Rockstar! You have no idea how relieved and APPRECIATIVE i am. I hope everyone gets what i am from this. And anyone trying to scratch that damn itch so many of us have been stuck with after New Vegas, this is the first game I've played that can do it.
Yes, I'm very happy about how this game turned out. I love everything about it. A few minor bugs here and there, but very minor flaws, pretty much a perfect game for a wild west themed open world game.

Trying going to your gunsmith and go to customize, then hit equip weapon. Once you do that, you should be able to walk out of the gunsmith with your weapon. However, if you do not own the weapon, or you did not purchase it, you can't get the weapon back.
