I'm taking a break from RDR2 and browsing. I have been wanting to buy a camera for some time but I have no clue what is considered good or bad anything. I don't want anything fancy. I like taking pictures of the animals and insects we get around here. Looking to spend like $400 to $600. Brands don't matter.

The next person to post a topic about the damn DLC horses is getting a permaban.
Why is this such a big deal? People have questions, we have answers.

I'm going to write a full review on this forum once I finish the game. Spoiler free of course 😎

Lmao, cause I IS AWESOME .. seriously though, no idea, just keep playing .. a lot ...
Oh I have been, to the point where my eyes are tired of being open for so long haha. It's a long ass story, impressive how your plowing through the story already. I believe there is only 6 chapters and 2 parts of an epilogue.

My major issue is .. too much riding .. missions take out to god knows where, mission ends leaving me miles from anywhere, have to ride for 10 or 15 minutes to get back to camp etc ... fast travel is locked at the base camp, stagecoach locked if you have a bounty .. I am fed up already .. really want to do the next thing, but yet again, have to ride from the swamps to base camp, has taken nearly 20 minutes
Just traveled back to camp again, only to find I have to travel back to where I just came from to speak to Dutch .. that effin ridiculous ... 10 minutes each way .. rapidly getting pissed
Yes it is a lot of riding. I have got to the point where I unlocked the stagecoach so I don't have to do heavy traveling. Also, if you go to the post office you can pay off the bounty so you don't have to worry about other parts of the world attacking you. The bounties aren't cheap so be ready. Once you get farther in the game, it gets easier to get around. Also, make sure you be smart on doing missions. For example, I ignored a Micah mission all the way near Valentine, and then the gang moved camp somewhere else in the map which I'm not going to spoil just in case you haven't reached that part, so now I had to travel all the way back to finish Micah. Make sure you don't procrastinate on missions or else you have to go back and do it.

I second this. Take away the trophies but allow us to replay missions and save.
Yeah, I don't give a rat ass about the trophies. I haven't punched any cheats in yet just because you can't save your game.

So, trying to be nice guy I stopped to help a stranger, and he ripped me off the horse and rode off. I tried to shoot him but was attacked by bounty hunters. I kill them but by the time I was able to get close to him my horse was gone a saddle was left behind. Wtf!? I go to the stable and now I have to purchase a NEW horse?! Is that right or am I not getting something here? Why do I have to pay for a preorder bonus?!
Incorrect. My horse got killed many times, and stolen, and I didn't have to purchase a new one. However, I have the thoroughbred so it came with the special edition of the game, so it's free to begin with. You should be able to get your horse back, it should say you own that horse already rather than buying it again.

Hello, so I bought RDR2 because of its western themed gameplay which I know it's in NH but it's so cool!!! I never played the first Red Dead so I'm new to all the style of this game and its gameplay (which we are all new at on RDR2). My gamertag is DamDaniel56 I know its corny.... don't know what to change it to yet. And that's a brief talk about me. I also play on a Xbox One S
Welcome to the wild west @DamDaniel56
Glad to have you on board!

So I bought Red Dead 2 on a Xbox one s and the graphics are under full hd, I heard it runs at 864p on Xbox one s!!! I know it just released so hopefully it will be fixed in the coming weeks.
Welcome to the forum @DamDaniel56
I think Rockstar has a long way to go with fixing all the bugs in the game, because almost every release has bugs, including frame drops, weird objects and defects, and overall polish of the game, considering Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive world. I think in the next coming weeks or so, Rockstar will try and knock out all the bugs to maximize full stability and quality of the game. Make sure to send Rockstar feed back immediately so you can submit your issue, and they can fix it in the next patch, or at the very least, as soon as possible.
Again, welcome to the forum, and may I have you consider checking out the "Introduce Yourself" section of the forum? https://www.rdr2.org/forums/forum/5-introduce-yourself/

I love this game so far, but does anyone else feel like it's copying a lot from the Assassin's Creed franchise? Obviously Arthur can't climb building and stuff but the birds eye view, the way strangers greet you when you walk buy them, the way you loot, and the running all remind me of Assassin's Creed. Not a bad thing to me because I loved Assassin's Creed but wanted to see if anyone else feels this way too.
Hello @jmp7624 and welcome to the forum.
Yes, I sometimes do get the "Assassins Creed" vibe, especially when the pop up sound in the game when it alerts you. The way people talk to you has that same feeling Assassins Creed does. Maybe Rockstar got some inspiration from the Assassins Creed franchise with the way you interact with people, who knows!
Again, welcome to the forum, and may I recommend you to the "Introduce Yourself" section of the forum? https://www.rdr2.org/forums/forum/5-introduce-yourself/

Anyone else having this problem? Especially mountains and trees are flickering all the time. At first i thought it was the snow, but apparently not. Check the video: https://streamable.com/5e53g
It's really bothering me to fully enjoy the game. Any ideas? Thanks guys!
PS: I have a ps4 500GB, bought shortly after release, so it's not 'new'. Tried playing with brightness and sharpness and even color blind settings, but no effect.
First and foremost, welcome to the forum @sakklote
I have yet to see this problem in the game, that is very odd. First thing I would do is report this to Rockstar immediately. Knowing the game just came out, their will obviously be bugs on the first day launch patch. Report this issue to Rockstar so they can handle it in the next patch!
Regards.

Ok, I visited Valentine on a few occasions tonight and really didn't notice any frame rate issues. Even with pedestrians, wagons and horses all moving about. Maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention as I admittedly forgot about this conversation while in the game. If there was some stuttering, it was not that noticeable (for me at least) otherwise it would have bugged me as well. I'll keep an eye out though.
When you go into the town with your horse, do a spin the with the camera and look around fast, you can see the frame rate drop major. I just looked this up, and this is a common problem for pretty much all consoles. The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X is also having a little frame rate drop.

I have a 4K LG OLED. Strange thing is after a while it’s gone and ends up looking like the best game ever made. So it’s either a lighting issue at certain times or the PS4 checker boarding is taking a while to kick in
Yeah I'm honestly not sure.

I have yet to play RDR2. "Why D3x!?" you may ask yourself... Well....
My internet provider has been having issues in my area. I had them out here 3 times since Monday. Apparently, some of the wires got damaged so my internet has been coming and going. Soon as I started to download RDR2, my internet dropped. It would come back on and then drop again. This happened for a good 4 hours and I finally gave up and went to bed. I woke up to find that it DID come back on but my POS Xbox decided not to continue the download. I had to run out so I started it and figured it would be done, surely, by the time I got home.
Soon as I get in the door, I go to check and guess what!? THE INTERNET MUST HAVE F'N DROPPED AGAIN! So I am just now at 50% with downloading it and praying to the Rockstar heavens that I don't lose connection again. I am so pissed off.
If anyone else has yet to play for any reason, I am with you. It sucks. I been tempted to sign on here but I was worried about spoilers happening. Glad to see you guys don't allow that here.
Yeah network drops are cancer.

If you are using a PS4 Pro, make sure your using the right TV for the display. If you have a standard 1080p display and your trying to get 4K out of the game, it will look funky.

I have the digital version and the latest version is Update 1.02.

Damn that was fast. I love me some good cheat codes but I won't use any until I do one complete run of the game. Then I will mess around with some of these after when I start a new save.
Good idea.
