Even if there is some drops in major towns, we only have the day one patch.....this is Rockstar biggest games and we will be getting many patches for the next couple of years....they will iron out all the bugs, glitches and performance issues.....be patient cow punchers.

Yeah hopefully they will clear out the bugs, and frame drops.

Hey Dylan,  I just got into free roam last night so I'll check tonight when I get on as I'm sure I will want to go into town to check it out.

....and yeah, ping has nothing to do with it as you mentioned.  One other thought....  Do you have Netflix, Amazon Prime or another app running on your PS4?  I've noticed that if I don't use the option button to close one of those applications after I exit, they will still run in the background and sometimes cause lag in some games.

Just throwing out ideas.  I'll report back on my own experience as well (regular PS4 here).

Yeah I have the regular PS4 and everything is closed in the background. When you get to the town, move and look around in a fluid motions, the game will get a little choppy, once you leave the town into open terrain areas, it will be butter smooth again. I know it's a big game, but the console struggles in the busy areas, hopefully they will release a patch to trim some of the strain on the console.

I have yet to play it but it can be a few different reasons. Usually dropped frame rates are down to your internet, not the game or the console. Is your ping going up and down when this happens?

The story mode has nothing to do with the internet speed, the full game has been downloaded and my download speed is 100mbps which is fantastic speeds.

Don't get me wrong here, but ............................Rockstar has been working on this game for roughly 7 to 8 years.  There shouldn't have to be 100 hours of work required per week.   I have had those jobs where I worked 100+ hours because deadlines was coming up.  You can't really play the whole Rockstar is the superstar of the gaming community, so it's ok for them to over work their employees for the sake of the game.  Especially when they have 7 years to go this done.   Logically there shouldn't have to be a big push at the end, when this should have been planned and there should be no unexpected surprises.  This isn't Rockstar's 1st rodeo and this isn't the 1st time Rockstar has be accused of over working their employees.

I expect a great game because of all of the hardwork and I am sure people aren't chained to their desks till everything is done, but at this point Rockstar shouldn't be in this position where they have to over work anyone.  They know the game too well.

I think Rockstar was pushing the release to get it here early because of sales. If a company waits to long, their money earned from their previous game starts to eventually fade away, and then the company needs to make more profit.

Yeah Rockstar takes their time, but they can only do that to an extent before they have to start making funds again. With the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, they have more funds to pay workers, and run the business. I think that's why they may have pushed the game a little early than expected. I don't work at Rockstar, this is just my guess, a gaming company eventually has to make a release to keep people paid, and keep the business going. If Rockstars funds were infinite, I think the game would of took a little longer to release, so they can properly polish everything without hurrying, and release the game with Read Dead Online, because we have to wait for that feature during November and December, which is very unfortunate, but at least we can play the game now.

I can not figure out how to draw in duel fights..  The screen says lightly press R2 to fill up meter and then fully press R2 to draw. I have tried this over and over and my character will not draw his gun. What am I doing wrong????????

Not entirely sure, haven't gotten a chance to duel. Make sure your not reading the instructions wrong if the game says lightly press L2 instead of R2, double check that's what the game says, if your doing everything correctly and it's not working, report it to Rockstar as you may encountered a bug.

Yes, we have gained control of the account long enough to download it onto his PS4 and he is a few hours into the game.  Now, my husband also owns the disc set, but we didn't know if we threw the disk in, if my son would be able to access his already saved game that was saved off the downloaded copy.  We are not very techy...but we are sure learning.

Yeah if you downloaded the game before getting your account locked, you will be able to play it. If you didn't download the game, and your account is locked, you will not be able to download the game because the account isn't available so you can't access the store.

My suggestion would be get your account situation figured out immediately, as that's the most important first, because it has all of your purchases, then play the game.

  7. Not sure if your far into the game yet, but I noticed when entering towns, the frame rate drops big time, and everything starts to get a little skippy when panning and looking around the town quickly. Once I leave the town, everything becomes smooth again. I know the PS4 or XBOX isn't a powerhouse performance when it comes to gaming like the PC is, but have you guys been experiencing the frame rate dropping when going into towns. This is really my only complaint of the game so far, let me know in the comments below.

I know this is more and more common with this but did you all notice on Twitter they are using a tiny Arthur emote or "emoji" next to the tag?

I think it is pretty dope. They know how big of a deal this game is man.

The intro made me feel like I was watching a classic old west film. The way they do the chapters as well is a nice touch. Dutch actually felt more human as well not just like a heartless man. Just being thrown out into the middle of a massive snowstorm for the start of the game… I did not expect that. I haven't even gotten far in the game yet and my jaw is sore from being on the ground.

Yes I was a huge fan on the intro. I have a super good pair of Sony headphones over the ear, that have deep bass and clear sound, and everything in the start of the game just sucked me into the situation, my blood was pumping and everything was really creepy. The snowy night was super dark, the sound effects were spooky, the acting was great, it was just a great intro, I loved it.

Love the new game and the graphics are amazing,

I have put a Youtube video up with the introduction of the game and some small game play, to show my friends how good this game is and why they need to buy it. First time i have done live video, please excuse my nervous voice. Below is the link to the video if you need to show your friends what they are missing.

GameStop prerung everyone starting at 1500 hours Yesterday.  Then, they lined everyone up by number starting at 2045.  At 2100, they started giving them out if you were paid up.

It took 90 minutes to install, and I was playing by 2300.  Just stopped now at 0400 to get some shut eye so I wouldn't be a complete trainwreck taking my kids to school in three hours.

The Best buy stores had releases at 2100 as well.  A couple of attorneys at work picked it up too.

Yeah my local gamestop was giving out the game around 9pm

  13. Okay, currently I am 8.9% into the game. I have to say everything is going great, I loved the intro, as well as some of the missions I am currently doing. I think that the graphics are also very great. This game is really addicting, and I cannot wait to explore more and see what happens with the story. I'm hoping I can take my time and enjoy the story and campaign and then focus on Read Dead Online.

Anyways, let me know what your thoughts and opinions are about Red Dead Redemption 2. Is it what you thought it would be? Was it better or worse?

Third party shooters always feel like this, a bit cumbersome and separated, it's just a quirk of third person mode. Until I've spent some serious time in first person I'm going to reserve judgement.

I love the 3rd person shooting, seems good to me!
