I don't really have any 'fears' (except my wife getting upset I am playing too much lol) I am not worried that the game will be disappointing, I think it will be really awesome. I worry about little things that will be more or less annoying than anything. Like horses....I hate in RDR when I whistle for my steed, and when I run over to get on it, it starts galloping until I get like 2 feet behind it, and then it takes off again. Also, I'm hoping they keep the 3 options of multiplayer. (Friendly, Normal, and Hardcore.) I always play hardcore because you don't have that stupid neon logo over your head, which sucks when someone is tracking you or following you....makes it kind of unrealistic and difficult to hide when there's a bright colored star above your head. Other than that, I have no fears.
I'm also hoping they bring back the different types of Freeroam from Red Dead Redemption, if Rockstar stick with their GTA Online model of one Freeroam for everybody I'm gonna be disappointed because that'll most likely mean the inclusion of some sort of God Mode again.

Just any gang with the name 'boys' in. I feel our gangs that murder and pillage shouldn't discrimiate against gender.
How about "The Billiard non-gender-specific-people-who-are-free-to-identify-as-any-or-no-gender-at-all"?
Kinda rolls off the tongue.
LOOOOL yeah, chose "Bunch" over "Boys" because it's not gender specific.

The Billiard Boys. To me, sounds better than "Bunch".
Was asked by a friend not to make it sound like it's exclusively for boys.

I've been playing Red Dead Redemption and it's multiplayer on and off since 2010 but I don't know if it'll make me any better at Red Dead Redemption II when it drops, the shooting has been described in previews by those who've seen it as a mix between Max Payne 3 and GTA V.

I have a feeling John was raised a good guy and had his own morals prior to joining the gang. I think he may have been desperate for money or in the wrong place at the wrong time and got roped in with them. You can't just be an upstanding dude and family man at his age without having some kind of foundation from your youth.
I don't think he was raised to be a good guy.
John's mother was a prostitute who died giving birth to him, his father was an illiterate and later blind Scottish immigrant heavily implied to have been his mother's pimp who died when John was 8 years old.
John was sent to an orphanage, he later ran away from the orphanage and fell in with Dutch van der Linde's Gang.

I was about to suggest something too. I like the logo and the name works. Usually, a gang with two words starting with the same letter sounds the best. My buddy started one which I think was for Max Payne as well. I think they were called Legendary Loners or something like that.
I knew I wanted a gang name which had two words starting with the same letter but it was difficult finding a name that worked, the logo took a while to create but I like how it turned out.
I'm pretty annoyed that I can't make more, for some reason I get an error message when I try to access the Emblem Editor on Rockstar Social Club.

I really like the sound of "The ______ Boys Gang". That will definitely be something I go with when I get my gang created, seeing as R* keeps the "crew" system.
It's a good template for a gang name, my original idea before I settled on The Billiard Bunch was "The Buffalo Boys".

How long was John out of the Gang?
The botched robbery occurred in 1906 so he was out of the gang for 5 years.
2 hours ago, YodaMan 3D said:Did the others know he was alive? Cause wouldn't the gang just come to Beechers Hope and try to recruit John back or use it as a hideout.
They might of assumed he was dead at first but after hearing no reports of his death or capture they probably knew he'd survived but I doubt they knew where he had decided to settle down unless they were told by Abigail, Jack or Uncle.
3 hours ago, YodaMan 3D said:How did they not cross paths before John started hunting them? John hunts in Tall Trees area all the time, at least when I played him he did.
After you capture or kill Javier, Edgar Ross and Archer Fordham tell you to make your way to West Elizabeth because they've received reports that Dutch van der Linde is in the area and some of their dialogue later on implies that Dutch has been recruiting and has only recently been spotted in the area.
3 hours ago, YodaMan 3D said:Maybe I just didn't remember the story well, but I thought John got caught after being shot after the botched robbery where he got shot. Was that correct?
John states that he was left to die by his fellow gang members after being shot but he never mentions being captured, Edgar Ross and Archer Fordham track John down by unknown means prior to the beginning of Red Dead Redemption and threaten to kill his family if he doesn't hunt down his former brothers in arms.
3 hours ago, YodaMan 3D said:So Bonnie saw John on the Train, assuming she got off at the stop at her ranch, what was Bonnie and Amos doing by the Fort when they found John? Not much that I could see a rancher and her ranch hand would need out there and it would have been way out of her way to just be driving by.
The train went past MacFarlane's Ranch but didn't stop there, after John got off the train it head South West so maybe Bonnie was meeting Amos in the South West region of New Austin to drive supplies back to MacFarlane's Ranch.
3 hours ago, YodaMan 3D said:Why take him back to their ranch? Wouldn't have been better just to drop him off at Armadillo on their way home.
Bonnie states that the Doctor in Armadillo is the one that saved his life so they obviously took John there first, when John first gains consciousness she tells him that the bullet was taken out a few days ago so maybe they took John back to MacFarlane's Ranch because they knew he was probably gonna be unconscious for a couple days and would need a safe place to rest.
3 hours ago, YodaMan 3D said:Back then $15 dollars was quite a bit of money. How exactly did John do to pay them back? John rides round the ranch, kills a few rabbits and coyotes. John helps them herd cattle a few times. John then helps them capture some wild horses, (supposedly, I mean you look that there is a ranch nearby one time and Armadillo the next), just saying they may not have be wild. Then Bonnie gives the keeper to John afterwards, ( which back then a good horse was worth killing over back then.) Saves Drew from the barn fire and Bonnie after she was kidnapped.
Although Bonnie appears to sceptical and wary of John, his actions and how he came to be shot in the first place I believe after spending some time with John she eventually came to have a fair amount of admiration for him. I also believe that after John opens up to Bonnie about his family, troubled past and his current predicament she feels genuinely sorry for him and probably didn't see the $15 or the horse as a major loss, especially after John had saved Drew, saved her and saved several horses from the barn fire.
4 hours ago, YodaMan 3D said:I appreciate and respect that John has so much love and loyalty to his family, but most people would have figured Bonnie is here, I can tap that and the wife would never know.
True, being a 21 year old male I can't comprehend the restraint John must have. I guess that could be considered a plot hole of sorts although I wouldn't share that opinion with your wife Yoda, she might not let you leave the house.

I did say, "Nothing even remotely similar to Hot Coffee." That incident was in San Andreas. In GTA V, they had plenty of relationships and "suggestions". I'm just hoping for something similar to that. (Obviously not on the "hook-up" side -- more along the lines of something a bit more romantic than you'd ever see in GTA.)
I highly doubt that because the "dating feature" was where the "Hot Coffee" issue sprung from that Rockstar would never allow in-game dating again. That would be like removing the money-accrual system because hackers found a way to give themselves unlimited in-game funds. Annihilation of an entire function because of one incident is not the answer. The answer is fixing the game mechanics so that similar incidents cannot happen again.
Yeah, no one said Rockstar would throw away the idea of dating features in their future games just because they accidently left some extra code in one game back in 2004.
I wasn't denying that you said "Nothing even remotely similar to Hot Coffee", I stated that Rockstar wouldn't make that mistake again in my first comment. I was simply saying that the dating/relationship options in GTA San Andreas were easy and made it worth your while because they offered you special rewards.
I get your point though that you'd prefer something more romantic than the wild west equivalent of going to Burger Shot and returning to their house. I personally wouldn't care for anything more romantic than what's found in GTA, I also wouldn't wanna have to make much effort with side activities like dating as it's a feature that can on occasion be a time consuming drag in real life so I wouldn't wanna go through that on a videogame. The only thing I'd want added if Rockstar were to reintroduce dating mechanics would be more dialogue options which are already confirmed to be in Red Dead Redemption II.

Yes, that's pretty much it. It might be fun to have Marston date a few other women before meeting Abigail. The first ladies could be rather obviously "flawed" for him, then when he meets Abigail, we see why she was right for him. I just think it would make the immersive experience all the better. Life isn't all about missions and money -- John Marston has a wife and child in the first game. As this is the prequel, I'd love to go through that courtship experience with him. I think it'd make it an epic game.
Oh now wait, I'm not suggesting we get to play mini-games on their wedding night or anything! Nothing even remotely similar to "Hot Coffee." But they can certainly have a tasteful suggestion of "nighttime activity." Even Assassin's Creed has done that, and quite well. I just think it would deepen the players' connection to the characters. That's why I'm hoping for it.
Nah dude, I stated "I'm sure Rockstar have learnt their lesson from the Hot Coffee controversy and wouldn't make that mistake again." It's obvious that they wouldn't include anything like that again, I meant the features that they didn't cut from the game.
You were able to hang out with them like you did with friends in GTA IV and GTA V then you'd be rewarded with special vehicles and outfits.

Do you already have an existing crew you use for GTA:O?
.....curious about that RDR image in the background of the error screen you shared too.
I made my Crew back in 2012 for Max Payne 3 and because I enjoyed messing around with the Emblem Editor, I still use it these days for GTA Online and publishing Emblems.
https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/crew/pool_sharks
The error image appears to be a mashup of some artwork for Red Dead Redemption and filtered screenshots. The artwork in the foreground was used to promote Grab The Bag and RDR Multiplayer Rockstar Events, the faint background image looks like a red filtered version of a screenshot I've seen before that shows Deputy Jonah, John Marston and Marshall Leigh Johnson but John Marston is covered by the artwork in the foreground.

I doubt there'll be an option to romance women or pursue relationships in Red Dead Redemption II but I wouldn't say it's completely off the table as Rockstar have done that sort of thing in previous games with varied levels of success so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
The only Rockstar game where I found the romance/relationship options to be worthwhile was GTA San Andreas, you put in a little effort and in return unlocked special vehicles and outfits from your various girlfriends across the state. If Rockstar were to implement something similar to this where you can unlock special rewards then I believe it would be a worthwhile addition to the game, I'm sure Rockstar have learnt their lesson from the Hot Coffee controversy and wouldn't make that mistake again.

Hey Arch,
I just checked and I was able to get into the editor for my crew emblem that I use in GTAV.
Damn, must be something on my end then. I've tried everything I can to fix the issue with no luck so hopefully it'll fix itself eventually.

So do we make our requests for clubs here then? I have a few ideas. I just have to decide on which one I want to go with. I would imagine once you pick the name, it can't be changed?
You can join or make your own Club in the Clubs section of the forum, the Club's name, description, logo, background and platform can be changed if your not happy with your initial choices.

I'd put RDR1's multiplayer as average at best.
What made RDR Multiplayer average for you? I'm very curious as I personally thought it was near perfect and the only improvements I would've added were character creation/customization and in game money along with things to purchase with said money.

I would like the online options to be the same as RDR, where I can just PvE or PvEvP. My son and I tried once to play GTAO, he had asked for a booster pack where he got the CEO, Hanger, and MC Club. 1st mission we did, I invited some friends was doing well in the mission and another player showed up with a tank during our mission and we failed. The other two just laughed it off and made comments like funny that was. My son didn't play for about a month. Just saw he had logged on about around the 1st of the month. Sorry not a fan of griefing and not a fan when it happens to my kid. Hoping this weekend he will want to try again and we find a few good players that will want to roll with us. He has been sticking to the MC Club and doing the easier missions there.
Rockstar have added so many features and vehicles to GTA Online, a lot of which can only be described as a griefers' wet dream and because of this GTA Online can be really demotivating for anyone who's just trying to make money.
What platform do you play on?

1 hour ago, YodaMan 3D said:Most gangs back in the day used the name of the leader. It may be lazy to you, but it was a sign that people that follow you, wanted to be like you. So lazy or respect depends on your point of view, but great leader leads by example. Good Luck!
I did think about naming my gang "The Archbell Gang" but I just preferred the idea of using something other than my name, my Crew that I started in 2012 for Max Payne 3 and later GTA Online is called Pool Sharks but seen as Pool wasn't invented until after 1900 I wanted to go under a different name while keeping the vibe of my Crew so I settled on The Billiard Bunch.

Do you guys think the hunting in this one will be more detailed and realistic? Like if a bear leaves tracks, you will be able to track them for at least a 24 to 48 hour period (in game time)? Or if there are snakes around, you will see their trails in the sand of desert areas? I know this kind of stuff isn't important in the actual story but I think it would be aesthetically pleasing.
I loved hunting in RDR but the problem for me was that it's difficulty ultimately depended on how difficult you made it for yourself (traveling on foot, using free aim, using a slow firing weapon etc) and I'm hoping Rockstar adds more of a challenge to hunting in RDR 2.
They didn't put a huge emphasis on hunting in GTA V but they did give you a device to mimic deer/buck sounds and you had to stay downwind of a dear or buck to insure it wouldn't be alerted to your presence and this made hunting quite realistic but at the same time very limited.
I despise IGN but Rockstar saw fit to show them and some other "game journalists" a demo of RDR 2 back in May as you probably know but if you haven't seen IGN's video recapping their experience yet, it's worth a look.
Skip to 7:13 to hear their impressions of hunting in RDR 2.

Going off all the information we currently have, what is your biggest fear concerning Red Dead Redemption II?
This could be a concern you have about how Rockstar are gonna handle the story, DLC, Red Dead Online but it could also be a game feature or style of gameplay that your worried Rockstar will implement in Red Dead Redemption II.
Voice your concerns if you have any, whatever they may be.

How long after the release date will multiplayer be available?
in Red Dead Redemption 2
Posted
Grand Theft Auto V was the first Rockstar title where there was a gap between the initial release of the game and it's multiplayer component, I don't know whether they'll do the same for Red Dead Redemption II.
With GTA V, the gap insured people were familiar with the controls, map and mechanics before they played with others. It also might have been done to provide time to make changes and fixes for GTA Online even though GTA Online was a mess at launch anyway.
One of the problems with releasing GTA Online later was that everyone jumped on at the same time, when you release SP and MP side by side your gonna have some people go straight to SP and some people go straight to MP meaning there's less stress on MP. Hopefully Rockstar realize this and release them side by side.
