I think it is about time I upgraded. I am still using my Galaxy s5. lol
I was debating on getting the s8 but I really don't want to spend THAT much on a dang phone. Anyone know something for under $250 that is a solid phone?
I'm still using my S4 (the S2 was one of my favourites).
I do have a Huawei P9 Lite though (got it with a fantastic data package that I couldn't pass up on) that is pretty decent except for the fact that it refuses to notify me of any new Whatsapp messages when it has had the screen turned off for more than a few minutes. Good phone though overall (if the P10 wasn't so expensive I'd have considered that as an upgrade for my main phone).
Would also love the S8 myself but that price just makes me want to wait it out even longer especially while the battery still holds out on my S4...plus at least I can replace it fairly easily if it does cave.

Hoping they have a nice mix again in scenery with the next game. Switching the music, people and the general look and feel always helps break up a game.
Remember in the original GTA games where you had to wait to unlock other portions of the map (sure you could head there in some way but not without having the pigs on your tail)...I think RDR may have been the last game that did this from Rockstar?

So it looks like March, April and May are the spring months for Rockstar. Last time I voted as a typical pessimist so this time I've gone for March!

Hey Don, why not January 20th? Ha!

So I had to be the closest one with my vote? I think I jinxed it

We likely wont see another trailer for the game till the fall at this point since the game was delayed. The screenshots are nice but still...
We have nothing to go off of. It is all just sad... a sad day for me.
Yeah I think a lot of us were expecting gameplay at least at E3 (well I know I was) but it'll probably be a story trailer if any at all and then most likely a lengthy wait for a gameplay trailer.
Ah well I guess on the flip side I have some more time to finish Undead Nightmare now.

Well, a hypothetical one.
Who thinks we will be getting the game THIS fall and how much would you put on that?
Who says it is another time, and how much would you wager you are right?
Base this on Rockstar patterns. To me, I see it coming out in the fall of 2018. I'd put a few grand on it.
This sux though as it means we have to wait even longer now.. You were partially right (about the 2018 bit) but let's hope you're not right about the fall of 2018 and that they do actually bring it out in spring.

So getting pretty close to E3 now and still nothing new from them so I too would bet money on E3 showing some gameplay to stir the excitement. Sure they don't have to do much as I'm sure it'll gather enough steam just on name but at the same time I feel that they might want to show a sprinkle of gameplay in the next trailer.

Depsite what everyone else is saying in this thread I 100% believe that we will get something like this. I mean look at GTA Online, you have MCs, CEO/Corporations and all sorts of different apartments, garages, etc too. This sort of thing is actually quite easy for the ROckstar people to implement it seems.
You could be on to something here and I guess it depends on how Rockstar see the RDR world compared to GTA in terms of long lasting appeal. They probably won't have as much customization as most would want however based on what GTA allows they could probably add in instanced hideouts/gang saloons, etc. that have something a little unique compared to others (basic furniture, animal heads on walls, etc.).
However almost everyone that plays GTA I believe enjoys getting a new shiney sports car or flying a wicked jet, attack chopper however in RDR you're really limited to horses and possibly carriages so I don't feel it doesn't quite have the same catch that will last and keep people hooked when compared to what GTA offers.

Most likely a no from me but I'd be too cheap to even pay for the PSN sub anyway which will most likely be a requirement regardless. I had some fun with the online mode in the original but it wasn't quite as enjoyable for me personally. Also I have terrible internet so that probably explains why I also lose all of those races online in GTA V

1. TLOU part 2
2. Red Dead Redemption 2
3. @Jamesie has there been any news on a new Elder Scrolls game? Would love to see that too!
Sadly nothing yet (only Elder Scrolls Online seems to have the spotlight currently) but everyone seems to think it'll be announced at E3 (and knowing Bethesda probably released in November).

So was just reading this rather interesting prediction from Eurogamer: we might still see a Playstation 5 this year.
QuoteCould Sony be releasing its next-gen PlayStation in 2018? That's the notion put forward by Maquarie Capital Securities analyst Damian Thong, cited in a recent edition of The Wall Street Journal. But is the time right to replace PlayStation 4? And what kind of hardware could Sony conceivably deliver next year?
First up, it's worth pointing out that Thong is credited with predicting PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, making him a creditable source. However, a comprehensive look through Google's news archive doesn't appear to show any prediction for the Pro that predates Kotaku's initial PlayStation 4.5 exclusive. Also worth pointing out is that Thong's prediction is nothing new - he made the same claims about a prospective PlayStation 5 launch last September. Did he predict the PS4 Slim? It certainly looks like it, but then again, Sony has made physically smaller iterations of every one of its previous consoles. That said, his CV certainly looks first-class and clearly, he knows his onions.
Of course I doubt it after reading recently about how well the PS4 is doing so while I have no doubt they're working on the next console I don't think we'll see it as soon as this year yet.
Now as I don't have a PS4 yet I'd love to see a PS5 release before Red Dead Redemption 2 (so that I can get a new generation console and a new generation game to play on it at the same time).
BONUS ROUND: Some crazy concept images just for kicks

I think the Far Cry games are decent but they are not comparable to RDR for its fan base. I know they will have the same feel but I don't think it will take any shine from RDR2... then again... I hope not.
Yeah I think the two games play quite differently even if Far Cry 5 does come along with a Western Theme. I'd really still just prefer a Blood Dragon 2 myself only because it was so over the top and awesome at the same time.

Hobby horse championship (yeah, you read that right

The treasure Hunter challenges in-game with the Treasure Maps were pretty cool so having something similar again but perhaps a bit more involved would be something I'd like to have included.

Campfires with more stories and even meeting up with the same folk you've previously run into around a campfire and then later if you meet up enough with the same strangers often enough (and hear their full stories) they should have a side quest or something just to kick things up.
So many possibilities, don't get me started on some cowboys vs aliens bits that could really add something special (or just perhaps be a bit too much though).
We'll probably get more funny text on tombstones, etc. again like from the original too, found some interesting ones in looking them up now which I'd not actually ever found myself in the game:

I've voted Dec-Feb only so that they can prove me wrong (and it had better not be post Feb!).

Having that would make it worth it. I wouldn't mind getting a poster and a figure even. Maybe have a few options in the figures as well.
Yeah I still have a Big Daddy from the original Bioshock and it's a thing of beauty. Maybe a USB stick gun or something similar would be nice (I also have the dog-tag USB drive included with the SC2 CE and even though it's tiny it at least included the original game...even if it is free now anyway).

I know a lot of people who aren't fans of online games. It isn't that uncommon. Some people prefer campaigns. I like a mix of both. I have a friend who only cares about online play as he gets bored playing by himself.
Yeah it's nice having the choice so I hope they bring a game along that includes a meaty campaign and online play for those interested.
I guess some online interaction is nice now and then but I guess it also depends on what that interaction is. I've played a bit of Ark Survival Evolved online but most of my time has actually been spent playing in a LAN environment with my better half (she tames them and I tend to get them killed lol). Online however goes south pretty quickly with people just raiding your stuff for kicks and then the rest of it ends up feeling like a second job. This is why I enjoy Ark though as I have the choice of playing purely in single-player, in a more controlled networked environment with just very close people or even hopping online.

Sad but not exactly unexpected. Consoles are obviously big bucks and with Sony/Microsoft willing to pay to keep exclusivity there was very little doubt that they'd also be holding back the PC release if one ever does come along. Couple that with the fact that piracy in general is still more rampant on PC even with heavy hitter Denuvo DRM being incorporated heavily in most recent AAA (and not so "AAA" games) and legit PC gamers get hit hardest for just wanting to enjoy a game that "griefs their rig".
This is however a console seller (I'm most likely going to buy a PS4 purely for this game and/or The Last of Us 2) so it does make sense financially for Sony/Microsoft to keep it in their park for as long as possible especially if they can also add a few subscriptions on top of the hardware/software sale.
