  1. It might be easier to think of 'best' in terms of specific sub-genres - computer game is too broad!  I have favourite RPGS, favourite beat 'em ups, favourite FPS', favourite tower defence etc

If forced to smash all the genres together, then I'll say that RDR2 will likely make my top 10 on the only criteria that matters to me - 'how much have I enjoyed it?'.  In the 'personal pleasure' rankings I'd put RDR2 up there with Morrowind, Street Fighter 2, North and South, Destiny, Phoenix, Asteroids, Double Dragon, Resident Evil, General Chaos, Operation Stealth, Millenium 2.2, Jade Empire, Kung-Fu Kaos, and many other games over the years I've got a lot of fun out of :)

  2. Different people enjoy the game in different ways.  Different people get different things out of games.  There is no bad/wrong fun, just personal preferences.

One can argue for one type of play style offering perhaps a richer or longer or more aesthetically pleasing experience than another, sure - but ultimately folk will subjectively decide for themselves.

  3. I'm pretty sure there no clear causal link between texting with net-speak use and illiteracy.  Indeed, I think I came across some research one time indicating the opposite - somewhat akin to the myth of swearing being a sign of linguistic ineptitude.

Probably far more a simple correlation between stupid kids in dysfunctional environments spending lots of time on a phone.

I imagine that they had a right to report murder, even of  racists, back in the late 1800s.  ;)

It might not be illegal to murder racists in America these days, but we must remember the game is set in a darker time.

Edit: Actually, I think I lost honor at one encounter because I just watched rather than intervened???  shame, because as noted above, they are quite funny.

  5. I feel as if I've already responded to this ...??

Many stranger missions are time sensitive and go only be done during certain main story chapters, after certain prerequisites and before certain cut-off points.

There is no way to go back to them after you've passed certain points in the game.  Sorry.

Basically, if you want to do every missable mission in the game you have to play slowly through the main story chapters, with high honour, activating and completing each optional mission as you go before moving on.  Having the guidebook really helps you plan this out.

Even then, it's still hard to do everything in a single playthrough and most people will likely have to play the game at least twice in order to do everything (you have to play through more than once in order to see the dialogue and ending variations anyway).

That poor guy... I'm glad he sticks around. I always enjoy seeing him again!

Further disturbing spoiler about one arm man:

    Spoiler

He never gets over losing his arm, his wife leaves him, he turns to crime, and you watch him get hanged.

  7. There's a difference between stranger missions, stranger dialogues, stranger ongoing events, random encounters, and quests.

For example, a stranger mission series is indicated by a question mark or letters in a white zone on the map.  These are missable and time sensitive.  Some of these optional missions arise from camp members.  Some are unlocked at only set chapters, some have prerequisites, some only open at set honor ranks.

A random encounter is a white dot echo on the map, and some/many of these respawn or reoccur.

stranger dialogues are when you have non-mission interactions with weirdoes across the map.  They are usually multiple staged and change post epilogue.  In that sense they are time sensitive.

ongoing events, like the home building, follow set time/place patterns and you can either join in at that time, or at a later stage (it will be different), or miss them.  It's hard to do all theses without knowing them in advance.

some camp member item requests are only available at certain chapters after certain interactions - like playing poker with person X during chapter 3 - they are easily missable.

easter eggs vary between places of special interest, unique items, unique documents, and time sensitive events (being at certain place and time).
