Looting bodies/homes, and missions pay the best, IMHO.

Although I might have phrased it less harshly, I tend to agree with most of your points - many elements of the game were over-hyped and left under delivered, the economy and shopping quickly becomes almost redundant, and some of the rpg mechanics, like weight control, seem poorly implemented.
But still, it's an amazing game which I have great fun playing, and it will give me many more hours yet. I have high hopes for online, too

Just have character perma death like horse perma-death. One life. Then start a new character!
This would be too boring in a game with missions, no one would redo them again and again if they died. However, if the game was entirely free roam with a super huge map and loads of stranger quests and encounters, then I could see it working. Every new character you create also has to have a different name and appearance from the last ones you had. Random start location.

What's annoying, apart from the obvious odious censorship and gender based hypocrisy, is that R* and RDR2 are getting blamed for allowing such a feature - which is especially galling given they've already bent over backwards to appease the censorious (removing schools, no sex, heavy pro-feminist and anti-racist storylines, etc etc). There's simply no pleasing the hand wringing moral police!

I've got more money than I know how to spend. No glitch, no treasure hunting. Just following the story and free roaming. Money starts off very tight, but by the time you hit chapter 4 you have plenty (if you've bee not king all the mission so nde behaving yoursel).

I don't think can missGil, he's not time sensitive afaik. Just go to the correct location at the right time of day to trigger the stranger quest, I think.

Anyone else on social club? The best thing is that tracks number of gang members you've killed. Oh my! Who thought gangs could get so big

They better fix quick those glitches, blurry visuals and missing dlc - that's a lot of potential complaining buyers.

He keeps being referred to as old by the younger characters, and keeps moaning about his age all the time himself. But he hasn't got grey hair, which seems anomalous.
I believe offically he's sooposed to be 36, but I would have pegged him at 42 (though oddly without any grey hair).

According to YouTube. They closed down a whole channel, shirrako gaming, which had a clip of Arthur punching a suffragette in the game. One clip, whole channel deleted!
Be careful what you upload, folks, rdr2 is getting heat for allowing violence against women (killing men seems totally fine, weirdly).
edit: more detail - punching, killing and then feeding her to pigs.

It should teleport itself to the trapper. Legendary pelts cannot be lost.

I believe legendary pelts auto go to trapper if lost.

Hmmm... The guide only mentions two ways: use (riding/swimming etc) and better tack. I think different tack has different properties.

If you don't pick up the gun then and there it is gone for good, there is no way to obtain it anywhere/any time else. Sorry.
It is not needed, afaik, for the completion of the mission/quest (only photos).
My final review. Feel free to roast me.

Marketing = sales.
And, maybe, to give them the benefit of the doubt, they might have tried - I do think there's a decent illusion of a moving world most of the time for the first however many hours. Of course, the longer you play the more repetition, NPCs on tracks, and stud you see, and the illusion fades. But it's still not bad.
Its a great game, but one with flaws, and it was overhyped.
