I feel if I don't start it straight away I'll be at an immediate disadvantage to the 12 year olds. Plus, I REALLY want to see what it's like.
I expect they won't launch online till later though like they did with GTAO right? What do you think?

I have been a fan of Xbox since Halo and its online services since Halo 2. PS has the better library, but for years my hands have adapted to the Xbox controller.
I know more people that play PS, but haven't had the funds to pick one up as a second console. Maybe some other people can join @Truth and myself on Xbox one day (cough @Cokeyskunk @BropolloCreed79)
@Benjo, I am real curious about this GT now

Correct me if i'm wrong but I don't think this has been suggested yet, but what if Arthur fakes his own death?
John says that he was 'left for dead' during the robbery, but what if he wasn't? Arthur could have found John shot down and helps him to escape with his family. John is indebted to Arthur for the rest of his life and thats why he never speaks of him in RDR1, as he promised never to reveal that Arthur is alive.
We could see Arthur riding off into the sunset and at that point we take over playing as John.
Check out the vid I posted earlier in this thread - they suggest that there.

Not exactly the worst thing. Familiarity, even if illusory, has the opportunity to blend nostalgia with the unknown to create a fantastic experience.
It's going to be a long two months.

I mean, look at the similarities between Vice City and Scarface.

Howdy Pilgrims!
I am Manco and I am from the Midlands in the UK. I absolutely adored Red Dead Redempton when it came out in 2010 and was a regular poster on the old reddead.net forum. Looking forward to chatting with you all about the game up to and beyond launch day!
Are you from Manchester?

The voice soundes super similar and what about the women sitting next to John at the fire with the kid on her lap? That's gotta be Abigail and Jack
Yeah those two are. She just seems a bit bigger than Abigail did, and why would she be talking to Arthur that way? John maybe, but not Arthur. Unless she was talking about John I suppose. I DUNNO

Making your way across the country making camp sites and moving on all the time really excites me for some reason.
And no, just enough to whet your appetite is by far enough info. Especially as there's only 2 months left until we get our hands on it.

Excellent point here and I noticed that too. Even how this series has helped set and raiseed the standards to GTA physics engines, gunplay, etc. IMO only Bethesda has done the same with their games. Constant progression in all directions.
There was one game, but we all kind of know how that one went; or is going depending on whom was asked.
NMS?

I've been thinking maybe I'd start the game as a ruthless son of a bitch. That's who Arthur is, right? Then I'll start to change my ways, create a character arc.
In RDR1 you could be a good guy or a bad guy but it didn't affect the story. Wonder if it will this time or will just be side-quest and general interactions that will be affected.

Knowing we actually get to choose how evil Arthur is. I think I may just have to go with a darker side for this one. We didn't get the option with John and I was fine with that but I tend to prefer to play the villain or bad guy over the "do no wrong Joe".
Yeah like I said earlier, you can be the good guy IRL. Why not be a badass?

Like a car in GTA. Somebody blows it up, they pay for it. They'll pay the vet bill. Anyone know how much horse insurance is?
I wonder if insurance even existed then. I'm gonna google it.
EDIT: Yeah goes back to the 1600s.

I would think there wouldn't be permanent death for horses in Online. For just this reason.
Yeah I agree. My guess online you could build your bonding but you don't lose that if it dies, so you can constantly build it up to a full bond. Dunno.

Isn't Abigail in the gameplay trailer? Isn't she the one that says "so you saved the silly bastards life now your out robbing sheep"
People have said that but I don't think it is.

I live in a small city called Posadas, Misiones province. North east Argentina. Right on the frontier with Paraguay and very close to Brazil. Really close to the jungle and Iguazú falls.
Sounds exotic!

Generally no real make up or other ingredients to help preserve one's appearance. That's why whiskey was so popular.
Everyone's a 10 after half a bottle of whiskey.

I think they'll show us part II of gameplay and then release an Online video just before launch in October. They did something similar for GTAV. In the next video, in addition to what they've already mentioned they'd be showing, I'd like to see them touch on safehouses.
Rockstar will never release a gameplay trailer.
EDIT: NEVER

You misspelled fun.
You always felt like it was a bit of fun. I think that's what you meant to say.
Yeah I'll grant you it was fun. Once I'd 100%ed I turned on the unlimited dead eye and used the sniper rifle, as you can keep AIS even while reloading, meaning you can take multiple shots in slo mo. Now THAT's fun. You should try it. My favourite trick was shooting someone in the kneecap first which shot them up into the air sideways, then seeing if I could get a headshot before they hit the floor.

That would likely be the route they go. I mean you can aim at a kid but it won't allow you to actually pull the trigger. It makes the most sense. I don't think we will see too many kids running around but the ones that are will need to be protected. Allowing us to still shoot them and not take damage still lets us shoot them regardless and that won't be viewed well. I would rather Arthur say something like "He's just a kid." or "Shooting a little girl, I can't do that."
They had this functionality in GTA where you couldn't shoot another protag. Although you could grenade them and they would essentially die. Not sure how they would handle that.

Nice video! To say they are the real life counterparts is a bit of a stretch - they're mostly tenuous guesses but an interesting watch all the same. Thanks for sharing.
