Pretty much the same for me. I kind of assumed he was going to be in it anyways and they really didn't give away much at all pertaining to his role in the story so I am not fussed.
I think it's safe to assume Rob Wiethoff will be voicing him too, as everything around this has been hush-hush so far.

For me, personally -- I'm a total weirdo.
I haaaaaaaaate buying games as soon as they're released. Why? Glad you asked:
- Too Expensive - Game companies are banking on the hopes that their marketing will get us super-hyped about the game they're releasing so that we'll all run out and buy it at release, so they charge a ton for them. A month or two (or three) down the road, the price often drops 15 to 20%, especially right before the holidays. Which brings me to my next point:
- A Great Christmas Gift - I'm notoriously hard to shop for (unless it's a Darth Vader item. I collect those!). But my family knows I don't want only Vader stuff for the rest of my life. As this launches in October, that gives me about 10 weeks to look forward to it. Also, I often have the week between Christmas and New Year off, so I get that time to play my new game.
- I'm A Game Video Watcher - Having lots of free time at my desk at work gives me a good deal of time to watch videos. I enjoy watching gamers like Swiftor and Ohmwrecker play the new games. Watching them get better helps ME to get better. I followed this same strategy with Friday the 13th, and when I finally got the game, I played my first round and actually did very well. It was a lot of fun, and I was prepared.
Anywho, that's just goofy ol' me. I'm the one unimpressive vote for "Christmas" above. No one else does it like this??
I do this for FIFA games but for RDR2 it would be crazy for me to wait even a minute longer than I needed to.

I hope they do fix this. Like make it more of a challenge for us in the sense that animals are stronger, faster, or not as stupid. Heck, let us have the option to try to fist fight a bear! I would do that, even if the chance of winning was like 1.3% it would still be hilarious.
The ideal for me would be optional difficulty levels. As a task to replenish your camp I wouldn't want hunting to take more than a few minutes, but if I was bored it would be nice to ramp up the hunting difficulty so that it can take half an hour or more to quietly track a deer, then eventually position yourself for a shot. I imagine the adrenaline would be pumping by that point because if you missed then your whole time tracking would be a waste, meaning you would have to get the perfect shot.

an INCREDIBLE multiplayer universe.
I'd put RDR1's multiplayer as average at best.

Think how many peds there are in GTA online. Lots. Change ped to animal and you will have lots of animals in RDR online.
-
Option 1.5 which is just gonna buy it on day of release without booking the day off work.

I actually really loved using the bait. I just wish there was more to it. Maybe they will add a bit of detail to that in this one. I am not fussed over tracks. They may have some for certain missions but not for general hunting.
The bait in far cry was too successful. Every time you threw it a predator came so it was way too easy. I hope hunting is more difficult in RDR2, or at least with a 'settable' difficulty level so it can provide more realism when you want it.

This would just end up being a mess. Like if there was no where you could go to just be left alone by people, everyone would just be consistently killing each other and a lot of people would get sick of dealing with it and not even bother with playing online.

Can probably assume that it will all be very similar to how GTAO works.

I think this’ll be tricky. An 1899 tent probably had a lot less entertainment then a modern day, million dollar, high rise apartment. But I’ll give it a shot.
....whittling.
Yeah, I heard there will be crafting in the game so maybe this could be an activity in the camps/tents, so rather than just clicking a button and shazaam the thing is made you have to actually spend time doing it.

I sure hope we can do more things in our dang houses/tents/whatevers this time around. GTAV was just meh with our apartment options. Like they should have allowed us to do some more things.
Any thoughts on what these things could be?

Can it be hand delivered on horseback?

Camping isn't a thing in open world games, right? Not the gaming definition specifically.
I think what you are talking about is different - where a gang is chilling in their camp - you asking can someone come and take over that camp by force? I doubt it. R$ knows there needs to be some kind of safe place and if you can't go to your camp without the threat of being ambushed by some 12 yr olds every 10 minutes then that will get real annoying real quick.

You can easily avoid it too by staying in your apartment.
Digressing slightly but what was there to do in your apartment? I was bored within 30 seconds.

I am not fussed with this. I usually just default it. Just take whatever is given and change maybe 2 or 3 things. What would be kind of cool to see is what Madden did with the face detect thing and it makes your player look similar to you. That would save time.
Customisation is a massive part of a game for me and it always surprises me when somebody isn't bothered about it. I'm surprised.

Highly doubt there will be tracks. FC Primal had one of the most detailed hunting mechanisms and you couldn't track prey for more than 20 metres or so (unles you wounded it first where you could track the blood). Although I would like it, I don't think the hunting function in RDR2 will be that comprehensive, opting more for a simpler and easier way of finding your targets. Remember in RDR1 there was no way of tracking an animal at all but you could still hunt easily enough. I'm expecting a slight improvement to that but not all the way up to a hunting sim.

How many of you guys on here think there will be a PC version? Like without this supposed "leak" or accident above. I don't really hear people talking about it anymore like it is going to happen but maybe I am just talking to nothing but pessimists. lol
I'm 90% convinced and 0% bothered that there will be a PC version.

It is for the benefit of R$, and he directly covers why in his opening 2 sentences:
"I think a healthy degree of paranoia and insecurity about releases is probably a good thing. I'm fond of saying that arrogance is the enemy of continued success.
"We don't believe in our success until we deliver it. We never claim victory until it's occurred. We have very powerful, smart, capable competitors bringing great products to market and we need to win - that means we have to work harder than the next guy."
He continues: "I don't think this is a numbers exercise around attach rates - I think this is a question of how phenomenal is the product, and does it capture people's attention and imagination? The answer is clearly it's going to do well, but it's very difficult to say how well. It's going to be a big success, but it's a question of how big?"

Here's my problem with that: PS4 breaks, now what? All your downloads are gone?
Na your purchases are logged under your PSN account, same for XBL. You just login on your new PS4 and download them again.

yikes, i mean physical. They don't have a physical copy yet, only digital.
I would be getting digital wherever I lived I think. Although I like the experience of opening a new game and having something to look at, within a few days the disk and box and everything inside it just becomes a pointless ornament, never to be looked at again until it comes time to sell it for $0.50.

Sucks for Black Ops. That's tough competition.
Battlefield V also. I won't be buying that purely because RDR2 comes out the same month.

I know the whole gambling thing would be an issue but it would be cool to bet on the two guys dueling cause you know damn well some people back in the day bet on this kind of thing. lol
Yeah this was my first thought, but it would be way too open to boosting for them to even consider it.
