  1. So all the R$ trailers contain gameplay, albeit little snippets with different camera angles than the standard 3PS view. To answer your question, I know exactly what you are getting at. Another game I am looking forward to is Dual Universe, and I have seen a LOT of gameplay walkthroughs for that game, so much so that I am not as hyped about it as I was before. That's not to say that the gameplay put me off, far from it, but there is a sense of mystery about all Rockstar games that you are only able to satisfy by playing the game. What I think you are referring to are gameplay walkthroughs. These show you everything, like how the player walks, the sights, the sounds of the world, the lighting, how clothes hang from people, how the ground interacts with your steps. For me that is all stuff that is pure magic when taking your first steps in a Rockstar game, especially one as rich as this, and I believe a walkthrough would kill that magic. I want to marvel at the atmosphere and the detail, and experience it first hand, not through some Youtube video. I for one absolutely agree on R$'s approach to their marketing and although I would LOVE to see the game in action, I know the wait and anticipation between now and October will be more than worth it, so that my first steps in the game will be that much more special.

Again, if it’s all true- I love the idea of having to go hunting for the whereabouts of a bounty. Heading into town reading a poster and having to question NPCs, get a last known location and then start the search. Could take an hour to actually find them, and then the climactic conclusion.

In GTA, you get a bounty and everyone knows  it in 2 seconds. You're easily spotted on the map and soon everyone’s after you.

A lot of the time people in GTA message someone to get their bounty off them for them because having one on you is annoying. One time someone msgd me when I was in a Hydra, so I flew over to them, tried to kill them but missed and crashed instead. I just quit the session.

    Hey Benjo,

Is there a way to include some sort of indicator that could show what platform these clubs are established on (e.g. PC, PS4, XB1)?  As it is right now, I have no idea how to determine that.  Unless everyone includes their platform in their title, I don't know how folks will be able to tell.

    Thank

No, as these are general clubs for the forum, not just game specific, the club owner would need to add any console information into the title or description.

That is so funny. I remember my parents having trouble keeping my mouth shut with surprises. You really couldn't tell me anything unless it was the day it was happening or I would spoil everything.

I was the worst as a child. I used to spend hours secretly searching for my presents, and when I found them I would then hint about wanting whatever they bought me for the next week, like if they bought me a football I would be like "Oh I really want a football" just randomly when I entered a room. Seems like a nice thing to do but I just cringe when I think about it now.

    I have a few questions...

Does this mean we will have our own sections where anything can be discussed? Cause it sounds like we are basically being handed the horse and being told to go wild otherwise lol

Also... Are these basically forum user groups? I have been part of these on other forums so I have an idea of what this may be but I could be wrong.

Yes so they are basically mini-forum areas where you have your own message board, and members to whom you have given sufficient permissions can create and reply to topics.

I'd like to see mines in more detail as well as have TNT freely lying around for online fun. Could you imagine messing around in a mine with your buddy and some random player just sets off some TNT? They can make it where the mines stay blown up for a set amount of time before "regenerating" as well so they can have the full effect of a collapse underground.

Actually having TNT would bring a nice dynamic to the game, if you could blast mines and then root around for gold or silver to sell.

  7. Howdy you pesky cotton pickin varmints. You can now create Posses right here on the RDR2 forum, which allow you to create and control your own areas of the forum for whatever topic you may wish.

Looking for like-minded players who enjoy rolepaying? Add or join an existing Posse. Want some players who are around your age and who take the game seriously? There's a Posse for that already.

    https://www.rdr2.org/forums/clubs/

You can give users certain access levels, upload a cover photo for your Posse, and also give it an icon, as seen below. You need to have at least 20 posts to create a Posse.

    image.png.2fdbb85fecf64b7b41188b804ad1be55.png

    Posse Types

Three types of Posse are available:

    Public Posses
Posses that anyone can see and participate in without joining.

    Open Posse
Posses that anyone can see and join.

    Closed Posse
Posses that anyone can see in the directory, but joining must be approved by a Posse Leader or Posse Moderator. Non-Posse-members who view the Posse will only see the member list - not the recent activity or content areas.

    Posse Users

Each Posse has three levels of user:

    Leader
A leader has all of the permissions of a moderator, and can add other moderators. They can also add content areas. The Posse owner is automatically a leader.

    Moderators
Moderators, as the name implies, have the ability to moderate content posted within the Posse.

    Users
Anyone else that joins the Posse.

Well now, this is something I kind of like. It adds a nice sense of realism to the game. I am hoping this is true. I really wanna see online be true to the old west as possible.

IMO it needs this in order to separate it from GTAO. I really don't want just a rehash of GTAO on horses.

Hell yeah! I actually plan to do this anyway before I go anywhere near online. I understand that a lot of people prefer online and the interaction with others but for me (at least in RDR) it was about enjoying that beautiful scenery and just going wherever you felt you wanted to (well except where the story prevented you from going lol).

I'm hoping that we get that same feeling again with exploring and moving about solo from one place to another between campaign missions without too many annoying side-quests to keep our "camp" happy ("Let's Go Bowling cousin!").

Haha good old needy Roman. I used to enjoy hunting in 1 and was always left a bit lacking that there was no actual use for it other than for selling stuff. As I had about $30k that incentive went away pretty quickly, so I'm actually pretty happy that they've managed to come up with a mechanic that actually gives hunting a proper function, especially as you can just do it at your leisure.

Just don't screw us over Rockstar. I don't want this to become a profit monkey that you dance around on us with. Also don't want to see this become a pay to win online game either.

I spent hundreds of hours just roaming about offline in RDR1, so if it does become a grindfest with squealy 12 year olds online then I'll just do that instead. I imagine there's 100x more to see and do in 2 than there was in 1.

  11. Personally I much prefer horror that is more realistic. Someone mentioned the movie Bone Tomahawk, either in this thread or another one, which is about a tribe of cannibals which hunt people. I would really like this kind of thing, where you're wandering alone through a dark, quiet forest at night and you hear rustling, then maybe some footsteps. This for me instills much more horror than a farfetched zombie or vampire. The threat of being taken down by a wild tribe and having your horse killed or eaten would really get the adrenaline pumping.

preparing/outfitting my character with better equipment, etc. before tackling more difficult parts of the game.

    I think this is important.

I usually don't go from mission to mission. I will do the first mission as they often chuck you straight into one. RDR2's map will be so big and so in depth, that it would be hard not to explore and play around with NPCs and see how much you can do within the world outside of missions. I get distracted quite easily in video games and find enjoyment out of all sorts of things. I'll want to just go riding, seeing the landscapes or go hunting and chill out with the gang. Then when I feel like I've done a lot, then I start focusing on missions more for a while. I'm quite a relaxed, casual gamer but R* is always enjoyable to play. I need to remember not to leave big gaps between missions otherwise I'll forget the story line lol!

This is exactly how I play. When something needs unlocking or I just fancy doing something other than wandering around, that's when I tackle the story.

A friend of mine on another forum was talking about this and it sounds legit to me. I mean, I don't think they got to see much but this kind of meeting is likely for business purposes, no?

The only reason they might do this is if there are some big bods at E3 that they can't get to come and view the game personally.
