I'd imagine the PC version is a daunting prospect for them, given how open the file system is. Modding must be a worry for sure.

Maybe the idea is that the press that viewed it will write reactions to it? Press report. Much like those invited to see the demo in May.
I would've thought that if it did happen something would have come out that day or at the latest the day after. So far... nada.

Do you ever actually complete the story?
Yes I always complete the story, and 100%ed RDR1. But like I said earlier in another post, I can never get that emotionally involved with the story. It just bores me, and it's difficult to follow when they're shouting it on horseback or in the case of GTA in a car while you're trying to drive. I know I'm alone in this, and I'm completely open to connecting with the RDR2 storyline, but my past experience leads me to guess that it will be the same. I wasn't even that bothered about the ending of RDR, the mission was just another obstacle to get past in order to progress.

As a side note, I'm in marketing and I ran a big competition on Facebook not long ago for people to win a piece of jewellery, and there were SO MANY comments from people saying things like "OMG I really hope I win this for my mum, she has cancer and she would LOVE something like this." as a way to try and influence the winner decision.
It was a $20 pendant.
It's like... why don't you JUST BUY YOUR DYING MUM A F****** PENDANT

I'm presuming here that by gameplay trailer people are talking about > 10 second shots of, say, Arthur riding his horse and interacting. At the moment we have already seen plenty of gameplay, shown in half second or so shots of fighting etc, but I'm guessing people are hoping for more than that.
When have R$ ever released a full-on gameplay trailer? Not for any GTAs, RDRs, not sure about Bully etc. Feel free to post one here.

Normally I only do the story to unlock things, so it depends on how open it is to begin with. If areas of the map are closed off then I'll probably just rattle through the story quickly to get everything opened up and then enjoy the map.

Sounds like all rumours and hearsay at the moment.

He never gets redemption/avenges his death
QuoteLater, during the quick-draw competition, which Annie Stoakes and Jack Swift both attend, Red learns that it was Governor Griffon who sold out his parents to General Diego. Governor Griffon orders Red to be killed by contestant Mr. Kelley (Joseph Melendez), but Red defeats and kills him instead and pursues Griffon back to his mansion with the aid of Annie & Jack. There, Red shoots Griffon in quick-draw fashion. For killing him the Sheriff offers to pay Red the gold he is owed and warns him to flee as murdering an official is a hanging offense, but he refuses to arrest Red because of all the good he has done for the people. Red, however, refuses telling him to give the gold to Annie to pay off her debts and help the Buffalo Soldier she rescued. He is disheartened to realize that Jack perished in the firefight to give him a chance to kill Griffon and takes Griffon's revolver, later claiming "It never was about the money."

Not sure why they would go to any length to hold secret demos at such a public event. Sounds backwards and the opposite of what they would do.
Doubt.

Was it you and I who were discussing the fact that the horse balls swing as they walk?

I know a lot of people would be mad but the thought of building up a relationship with my horse for like 30+ in-game hours and having it mauled by a cougar makes me laugh. I would imagine though if this is the case, I can get all my weapons off the dead horse.
Cold.

They should have two servers options... Ones that stay true to the old west, and ones that include unicorns, neon colored attire, and guns that shoot squirrels. This way they can have a server option for people who want to play true to the time, and another for people when they just want to mess around. I know this is very unlikely but this would allow them to sell to two different kinds of markets without merging them together.
Never gonna happen Murray.

I hope your right, rdr online on xbox360 was going strong even on ps4 then boom gta5 imerged then made the jump to ps4 and left rdr out of it all. I honestly think rdr remastered on ps4 4 years ago would have been a good move for the rdr series but that's my opinion.
They started development of RDR2 8 years ago...

Not sure why a development house would make a game worse than it could be so that another one of their games could look better. Sounds like the worst business model ever. Why not make 2 amazing games and profit?

Welcome. Wow, 11 days. You need to do some serious food planning, and stock up on water etc. Also remember to keep moving to reduce danger of blood clots.
It's an interesting point about your horse running off with your guns - not one I'd thought about. Although it does come to you if it is in earshot so I imagine it won't be too much of an issue. In terms of the mission planning I imagine you'll get into a flow and have a typical loadout that you use for each one, but maybe swap out a shotgun for a scoped rifle for the odd one.

This is a legit part of playing and not a triggered cutscene thing? I thought it was the latter. I will have to rewatch it again.
100% gameplay, looks cool as well.

I have a feeling they will just be copy/pasting the combat style from GTA V to RDR2. They put so much focus on everything else in this game that I can really see Rockstar just completely skipping over this one. I guess time will tell.
There are takedowns and things in the trailer so I don't think that is the case at all.

What kind of horse crap is that?? I have never heard of a collector's edition not including the bloody game. They have to change this.
They are doing it so people can still choose their edition of the game. Makes sense really but the price should be lower given that fact.

you'll only be able to see enemy players on your mini map when they're within a certain radius of you
I said in another post that it would be good if you can go off grid, and that leaked info (which sounds legit) would confirm that. I really like the sound of having to go searching for people — wandering into a town and seeing that somebody (your enemy, I guess, as we're there to fight, or collect sage of course) is in the nearby bar having a drink or playing Black Jack. You could park your horse, stomp in there and blow them away, like a real arch enemy. What I'm saying is I think this would be a lot more realistic for the time, and will slow the pace down a lot. It's not just a case of sniper fights in the street or getting wasted every 15 seconds by some kid in a Hydra.

As long as there's no f****** left-right-left-right-left-right-SHOOT-left-right-left-right-SHOOT-left-right nonsense then I will be happy.

RDR2 Gameplay At E3
in Red Dead Redemption 2
Posted
Just seems a bit cloak and dagger and a bit too unprofessional for a bluechip company to be doing all this. What would they gain by doing it for a few people at a public event, risking some kind of leak? Why would they not just invite them to a private location like they did before? All smells like fishy rumours to me.
