It is just marketing to the people who need to have things first. I really don't care if I have to wait a week or not.
There will be plenty to do within that week too.

i dont even play it anymore. havent for like a year. it's boring. when a new car comes out that i want, maybe i'll jump online and buy it. but thats it.
I'm exactly the same. There's a collective groan when they release another crappy adversary mode. All this doesn't bode well for RDRO, if we're already bored and sick of GTAO, especially if the same dev teams are responsible for it.

I didn't even know people buy these kinds of books still. I get it for maybe games like Minecraft or WoW. Maybe that is just me. I never got one for any game. I just to figure out my own ways to do things.
Plus there's like, Google

I will likely get one though I am not sure if I will get the big one (with the box) or not.
Remember the big one with the box doesn't actually come with the game.

Agreed, I hope Rockstar keep it authentic and if Red Dead Online does indeed use GTA Online as a template I hope that further down the line they don't start giving the community everything they want because they know they can charge big bucks for it.
I think they will be symapthetic to the time. They've gone all out on realism so I strongly doubt they'll go against that.

These horses really are tanks.

The worst month they could have picked. I was actually considering this as well but I can't get another game while playing RDR2 fresh. That is going to be the only game I play for a good 3 months.
Problem is we'll then come into BFV late on and be way behind the 12 year olds.

Wouldn't they allow you to have more than one relationship with a horse?

Is this still a legit thing? Like I know PS3 had lesser quality graphics than the Xbox 360. I thought Sony was on par now.... I mean if not, what the hell are they doing??
No idea, i was just being edgy

The sheer fact it's been confirmed that you can buy individual hats tells you that full customisation will be available.

They have John Marston as an option for your GTA Online character's father, which I did lol. I guess my Red Dead Online character will be somehow related to Marston if the heritage tree thing is true.
I imagine they will have the Marston family tree as an option, so you have to feel bad for the other ones who will literally never get chosen. They probably put the work experience kid on developing those knowing no one will ever look past Marston.

It is unclear what the Environmental Awareness skill entails
This has to be the same as Far Cry which lets you see nearby animals for hunting purposes.

I'll be pre-ordering the game, but not using this horse. Won't using the War Horse or any special edition horses ruin the relationship building and training experience with a regular horse? We'll be feeding, grooming, and spending time with it, all in an effort to strengthen the bond and performance. Each shootout and race across the plains will help to build a companionship. The War Horse, Dappled Black Thoroughbred and Black Chestnut Thoroughbred are bigger, faster, and more courageous. If they get shot and killed, are they gone forever? Most likely not. And so that emotional permanent death is now gone too. You're thoughts?
It's the stats that you lose, not the horse design. My guess is that they will die but you will still have access to them, but you then have to start the bonding process again. I imagine this is the same with all horses - say you like a light brown with a white mane. Your next horse could be that as well but zero bonding stats.

Battlefield V was an absolute solid buy for me until I saw the release date. Now I'm not going to bother.

they have to be performing a certain action that would trigger loud sounds... Using an unsilenced gun, traveling on a horse, using dynamite

Are you talking about having the three characters or how the game progressed cause it still felt the same to me, like how you completed and played through the storyline (aside from having 3 stories come together)? I still think they stuck to their core.
Both the 3 characters and the completely open map from the start.

OK Maybe I'll preorder.
So this looks like the leak has forced R$'s hand so they have had to release this information early. It confirms a lot more than we knew - camp customisation, saddle customisation, outfits (although that one was obvious), 3 weapons confirmed, talismans you can wear which give you perks, ranking up system.

The way the radar/map is supposedly gonna work would definitely be a departure from how it works in Rockstar's other online games and I've personally never seen an online freeroam game where only players in your vicinity show up on your map, I've also not seen any game use an online bounty system that is anything like the one described in this supposed leak.
If all this were true then it would make sense in realism terms. I said in another post that I don't want my blip just showing on someone's radar when I'm 5 miles away up in the mountains. I want to be able to relax without some nonce coming and griefing me because they know exactly where I am. If I did want to get in a fight I could go looking for people in towns etc, which would make it much more interesting, as you're searching for people, rather than just setting a waypoint and travelling there.
In terms of the bounty system, this too would make sense from a realism perspective. It's how bounties would have worked then and it wouldn't detract too much from how you do them, in fact for me it would add to the immersion.
Remember, just because other games don't work like this, and just because R$ haven't done it that way in the past, doesn't mean they won't do it now. They didn't have perma deaths for horses either.
