Why not just have it added from the start? It would make no sense to do what they did in GTA and add it in later if they know a lot of people enjoy it. I mean I for one would love to ride around on my horse in first person at the very least.

New trailer went up for LA Noire
I know it isn't RDR2 related but it is Rockstar related so I am just sticking it here.

I sometimes wear a watch but only when I am dressed up for something. Other than that not really. Never been a fan of it myself. I do like the way it looks on women though. I love chokers and rings on women. Not a fan of piercings on either though, outside of earrings.

Now that I actually seen the trailer, the second one that is..
I have a feeling there will be something to do with the trains. Like maybe a certain way you try to hijack it or rob it, you can milk it for money or supplies.

I personally like the different land areas and while it isn't all about the desert, far less in fact from the looks of it, I don't see how that will take away from the cowboy factor. There will still likely be desert areas I am sure just not as much depending on where it is actually taking place.

Damn....memories!
I had one set of ideas (who doesn't want to be a fighter pilot growing up after watching crap like Airwolf, Topgun, etc). while my parents of course had similar ideas but in more practical routes (plumber, electrician, etc.). Then there was the ultimate option: live at home while Ma and Pa pay for everything, leave you to do whatever it is you felt you needed to do to "find" yourself and then just support you when you had discovered online gaming that allowed you to never leave the house.
I eventually chose neither option (because two of them were never really options anyway with the third being ruled out because I'm blind as a bat).
Back on topic I remember always wanting to get the N-Gage thing that was a mix of a cell phone and a hand-held gaming console. It was too expensive (and hard to get hold of locally) at the time but I still wanted one with a passion. It did appear to fail someone badly though so I should probably be thankful for living in a shit-hole country lol. It had bomberman dammit!
I remember these! There was something else like this. It wasn't a phone though it was a handheld something that can go online I think. I can't remember what it was called but it flopped harder than a box of bricks. My mom actually got me one. I only ever used it to play wheel of fortune.

I have the stupid barbed wire on my bicep. I do not recommend it. I wasn't thinking. I honestly just wanted a tattoo and that was a trendy thing to get at the time.
Avoid anything trending and you are less likely to regret getting one... Like me.
HA! Sorry this is funny to me because my older brother did the same thing. He was drunk at the time though. Just forget you have it. It isn't the worst tat you could have gotten.

With the 30 gang on this one. As mentioned, it is for obvious reasons. The map likely wont be HUGE but it will be plenty big to host 32 players.

Them bastards! We get a freaking update on WHEN a trailer will be? That is out "summer news"?? Wow... I have no words.

I was thinking about something with Sims (don't laugh) that could work and this idea would fall into it.
Basically, they could have maybe 3 different types of servers. One would be for casual players where they can remain hidden and do their own thing if they wish. Another would be for intermediate reward hunters, people looking to play it and complete things, not looking to screw around. The last one can be like the one you mention here, hardcore, anything goes, no one is safe unless you actual find safety (in your home for example).
This would likely cost them more money though. Do you think Rockstar will fork out more funds to host "special" servers like this? If they do... We will likely be paying for it be it in DLC (expensive) or "expansions".

is there really anything that would be negative about making this a mainstay franchise? Looking at GTA, that is like the "modern" story and RDR is like the "old west" story. You can constantly come up with great stories for both even though the old west isn't current.
I have no issue with it being a mainstay title for Rockstar either. Seems like a great thing to bank on since a lot of games out there tend to focus on the future and a lot of gamers like me, prefer to play with history.

I think it was the late 1860s that Native American Indians started acquiring guns.
But did they all start using them? In RDR they still used bows if I am not mistake and that took place in the 1900's. I think a lot of people, even in this day and age use them for at the very least, hunting wise like the OP mentioned.

Believe it or not, it is my middle name. I always preferred it over my actual first name with is Phillip. Most of my friends and some of my family call me Shawn.

Art is anything that you define as art. To me, it is like beauty. While we can all agree that there is a general appeal to whether something is beautiful or not, we all have our own taste. Someone or something I may find appealing or attractive/beautiful may not be the case to someone else.

The thing about the US is that while freedom of speech is being threatened, this country will never become a full blown Socialist country. The reason being is that another Civil War will stop it... And we all know the people with the money and power will win.

I am honestly not bothered by this when the core game is still good by itself or on its own. I think this was more of an issue back in like 2006 to 2012. They seem to have toned it down a lot and focus enough on the main game to make you not feel like you are missing out if you don't buy the extras.
Same here. I was getting into a rant about this with a friend and really, it is no where near as bad. I think they noticed what is acceptable and what is not by the actual people who buy and play these games.

Old thread but I wanted to say something.
What if games in general started doing this? Like instead of paying your console to play online games, you had to pay game individually. So if the devs decided to charge, you would be forced to pay BUT would not be paying a monthly fee to PS/Xb, would that change your minds?
Wouldn't that mean I had to pay for every game then? I mean if it is only like $1 or $2 a month, maybe but it would likely be $5 or $10 so that would end up being too much. I mean that is fine for people only looking to play one game at a time but that is not my style. I like to cycle through 3 or 4 at a time.

Bad red eye mechanics. I know it isn't entirely down to the story for that but it makes the epic fight scenes worth doing. If they don't do it right I will feel like I am dragging my feet through those moments.
-
Ehh probably comedy. I like a lot of others but comedy seems to usually be a hit for me. Specially with cartoons and animated series. I do like some horror now and then and some action films but mainly comedy. I like to laugh.

They will have something like this for sure. May not be what you said but of the same nature. I feel like they want to expand how the game plays and make it feel new but still like a classic Red Dead. Like feeling like the first one.

Being able to make your own guy would be a solid change for Rockstar games. I would openly love and accept that but if your character does transfer to the online end, I would imagine you could be male or female in the main story which would also be pretty cool. Would love to be a woman for once...
Not like that!

I don't want to reply to everyone but thanks for all your input on this. For the record, I am not playing WoW again because I don't want to pay monthly to play. I don't care if it improved or not. I was looking into Guild Wars 2 and it does mention a lot of bugs. Though for free, I may as well give it one night and see how it goes. League of Legends is okay but I would prefer a less "cartoony" game. I likely won't bother with that.
I will download Guild Wars and report back. I am off work for 3 days because of the 4th so I will do that tonight and plat it for a bit.
Let me know how it goes. I might try it. I just don't want to bother downloading it if it won't be worth it. I read it can take like 5 hours for some people

I feel like the sale could have been better. I think today is the last day. I honestly could not find anything I wanted to spend money on. Such a bummer.

Will the servers crash in the first week of RDR2's release?

The chances of them making this mistake again are very slim to none though but I am right there with you. I would laugh but I would likely get pissed after 20 minutes of them being down. lol
