Punching suffragettes promotes violence

According to YouTube.  They closed down a whole channel, shirrako gaming, which had a clip of Arthur punching a suffragette in the game.  One clip, whole channel deleted!

Be careful what you upload, folks, rdr2 is getting heat for allowing violence against women (killing men seems totally fine, weirdly).

edit: more detail - punching, killing and then feeding her to pigs.

It's not "The Left" it's a small amount of idiots who claim to be left wing.

It *is* pretty tasteless to go out of your way to upload a video of carrying out your anti-feminist fantasies, but it absolutely 100% makes no difference to me. To blame Rockstar for it is absurd too. The dude making the videos is baiting the super-liberal and they have fallen for it. Non-story.

Reminder: There was an achievement in the original RDR for hogtying a prostitute and putting her on the train rails to be hit.

Regardless, let's stop regulating 'how' people choose to play a game, especially a Rockstar game where, pretty much, anything goes.

From what I read, he did much, MUCH more to her.  He basically built his channel (temporarily) around finding creative and inventive ways to kill her, like putting her on train tracks and tossing her off bridges.

Not saying it's right or wrong to censor him, but there's more to the story.  YouTube is owned by Google.  Google is a very... progressive company, so I could see them closing the channel for that.

I don't know.  WIll PETA have enough pull to shut down my channel on YT over the multiple "Suicide by Horse" videos I'll be posting soon?  (I've already started).  I mean, I"m punching the horse on purpose to initiate suicides, but if I don't get too many views, I should be fine.

I found them last night! Tossed a stick of dynamite into their meeting and watched them scatter. Only had to use 1 bullet after that!

Two nights ago, I did the EXACT same thing.  It was glorious.  I almost wish I had Sheriff Bart with me when I crashed that party.

What's annoying, apart from the obvious odious censorship and gender based hypocrisy, is that R* and RDR2 are getting blamed for allowing such a feature - which is especially galling given they've already bent over backwards to appease the censorious (removing schools, no sex, heavy pro-feminist and anti-racist storylines, etc etc).  There's simply no pleasing the hand wringing moral police!

I'm more irritated that she was in the game to begin with ... this game is FILLED with SJW nonsense.

That said, nobody seems to care that you literally killing hundreds of men in the game ...

I made this same statement about the decision by DICE to put women in Battlefield V.  I mean you mix teenage boys with female character customization and Youtube .. what could possibly go wrong ?

One of the funniest statements I heard in reaction to DICE deciding to put women in a World War 2 game was ... "DICE is brainwashing me to be violent to women!" lol.

One of these days feminists will have to decide if they are 1) as strong, capable, independent, and powerful as men ... or 2) fragile creatures that retire to the fainting couch and reach for the smelling salts every time someone says something that could offend them.

Non story except that people's livelihoods are literally being destroyed, people are being assaulted in the street for wearing MAGA hats, Tucker Carlson's house was surrounded just a day or two ago and antifa terrified his wife yelling and breaking the front door, etc.  People lose their jobs over stuff like this, get kicked out of college, etc, just for their speech.  This isn't something you can just hand wave away as being a non-story - it's indicative of a trend.  Youtube has been banning conservative channels left and right (and some leftist channels too).  This is becoming the issue of the day.  Infowars, which is like the national enquirer or the U.S. News and World report, a channel that literally talks about alien conspiracy theories and theories about making frogs gay ... was banned on all major platforms.  It's a thing.  This guy that had his channel banned, he was pulling down about 20k$us/month with that channel, that's his livelihood ... whether he eats and has shelter rests on who is outraged by his comments and whether Youtube will delete his channel or not, and he's not alone.

Well he needs to find an income that doesn't revolve around him being a childish loser. Like it or not, youtube is OWNED by people who have their own ideas about morality, ethics etc. So if you want to post videos on their platform you have to take into account their rules, and their own accountability to populism.

I don't know who Tucker Carlson is. I don't much care either. Antifa are a bunch of arseholes same as the MAGA arseholes. If you elect a moron then your country will suffer.

What you should ask yourself is this: Why does somebody feel the need to broadcast their sick fantasies like this? If it is just to annoy people, there is something wrong with them. If they believe that feminists should be killed-there is something really wrong with them. If they are just doing it for a laugh why are there SO MANY similar videos form the same person?

The channels being taken down by youtube are hateful bile spewing nonsense for the most part, so i don't blame a company for not wanting to provide a platform for them. You can say and do whatever you like but don't expect a huge company to broadcast your own peculiar brand of pathetic hatred. De-platforming, in my opinion, is not the answer to bringing people together, it is usually education. But how do you educate people who will never, ever question if they are right?

From an outsider point of view I think America has regressed so much in the last couple of years, the name calling and general unpleasantness seems to be more and more each day. Also-the whole world is laughing at you for electing that nasty, lewd, racist, serial bankrupt clown.

If we're not careful this will turn into a political debate rather than an RDR2 thread.

But, since i can't resist nailing my own colours to the mast, however briefly,

I'll just say that I mostly disagree with PZA because I tend towards favouring something like an internet bill of rights because I feel that tech monopolies (like YTube and Twitter etc) are de facto public squares/utilities more than private companies at this point - and when you factor in de-personing by internet hosts, search engines, and tech payment options (Google, Paypal etc), as well as politically motivated physical/financial de-platforming/censorship by mob veto, then you have entered the realm of unacceptable large-scale censorship and the erosion of free speech.

Obviously, as a free-speech fundamentalist liberal/libertarian I'm very biased! :)

That's not bias, that's being an American.  The First Amendment is kind of a big deal, that's why it's the "first" one, and not seventh or eighth.

Unfortunately, because ISP's are not regulated like utilities, and because companies/corporations are considered "legal individuals", they retain fundamental rights as well.  Among those is the right to restrict speech on a platform due to First Amendment privileges (which is convoluted, I know, but these are the times we live in).

But I'm very jealous of the American Constitution, esp 1st and 2nd amendments.  Again, I'm pretty liberal.  for my own country I'm an anomaly.

Could you please use the spoiler tool?  lol

Red dead is an open world survival game and one of the primary game mechanics is the ability to hunt, fight, or kill any entity. The fact that he chose to execute a feminist multiple times is not evidence of any underlying hatred or bigotry toward that group in the same vein that if I upload a video of me massacring every man I find; that is not indicative of any underlying misandry.

If you declare any group to be a protected class, say feminists then you set in motion a slide down the slippery slope of complete and utter censorship. If Youtube removes any channels that kill feminists, what happens when someone uploads a video of themselves murdering every Black person they find and the media have an equal reaction? Surely the same arguments apply, surely rules should be applied universally? Then women? Then who's left? Complete and utter freedom is always preferential to restricted freedom, you're advocating for the former.

A while ago Pewdiepie dropped the N-Word while live streaming and as a result of that; a hit-piece from the Wall Street Journal bemoaned Youtube's promotion of racist content. This resulted in a lot of advertisers pulling funding from Youtube, putting even more financial pressure on a site that is one of Google's biggest financial sinks. Considering you're not even aware of who Tucker Carlson is I doubt you would have heard of the recent controversy surrounding an alt-right podcast that ran a charity stream for Children with cancer.

During the stream close to $30k was raised and some of the guests made edgy jokes about the holocaust, again the Wall Street Journal wrote a hit piece, attempted to get advertisers pulled and also pressured the charity to refund the donations due to "hatred and bigotry", which they did. Youtube likely concerned about avoiding another PR nightmare immediately terminated the channel and banned him on all their platforms. The controversy surrounding Red dead 2 also surfaced at the same time as this, as did the ban.

Removal of his channel was not due to TOS violations, it was to avoid advertisers pulling even more funding. It was a purely financial decision not a principled one. If you search on Youtube right now not only can you find ISIS propaganda, promotion of terrorism, pornography; but pretty much all content which is in violation of the TOS. The TOS is little more than a tool to remove of any liability from youtube in case of legal action.
