Was curious as to what you guys go to method for making money is. I've been hunting mostly but I've been interested in finding more effective methods.

There are many ways to make money.....the best way to getting a lot of money is finding gold bars.....don't want to spoil anything, but they are scattered through out the world🤑

Fairly new to the game, but gold sounds very interesting. 🤑

Gold duplicate glitch, instant $15,000 everytime. Ruins the game of earning money though. You can find the glitch on google.com

Yes I no about that glitch....its hard not to no about it when its plastered all over the net and youtube.....I have not tried it, besides there is so many gold bars, gold nuggets and ways to rack up more money than you will ever need?

Cheating shouldn't be the answer.  Especially there are other ways to earn more then enough money to play.

Trust me, they'll patch that out when RDR2O launches.  Dupe gold glitches would crash the in-game economy quicker than I can down a pint of Guinness.

Personally, I have no interest in the exploit.  It takes away from the gameplay.

Funny enough, I've found that looting provides a wealth of valuable tonics, jewelry and other items I can sell to fences for a tidy sum.  I actually try to seek out gang camps and ambushes because of this.

I've got more money than I know how to spend.  No glitch, no treasure hunting.  Just following the story and free roaming.  Money starts off very tight, but by the time you hit chapter 4 you have plenty (if you've bee not king all the mission so nde behaving yoursel).

I ran out of things to buy, so I donated all my money to camp and got myself arrested. No way in hell was I paying that $325 bounty. Still have to take care of the other 2 though...

Bounties.

Really?  I find that's there's not enough of them and they rarely pay well.  The only reason I do them is because I enjoy that part of the gameplay.  I really wish bounties were more, well, bountiful in the game.

I currently have about $4k and am able to maintain that amount even with paying off bounties, customizing weapons, buying ammo, etc.

Hunting, in a smart way.  If you are selective about which animals you shoot, use the correct rifle so you don't ruin the pelts, etc, you can make good money hunting.  Also ... always riding with a varmint rifle out so you can always land a turkey, bunny, squirrel, etc, along your path is a good idea ... never enter town without something to sell ...

Fishing.  I find fishing an easier way to make money.  You can carry a lot of fish, of each type, they don't go bad on your horse, and they are worth a good bit of money.  The best (most valuable) fish are generally the harder ones to catch.  It's a good skill to learn for making money.

Just to see how much and report in this post ... I just sold about 15 fish for $50 in the game at the butchers.

Yeah I feel like looting and receiving the pocket watches, etc. is overlooked.

That's not really a lot...

Couldn't agree more. My camp was fully upgraded by the time I was collecting any real money. I just donated all the "valuables" I came across.

You can make some good, quick money from that stuff.  After an ambush I can hear the faint sound of "cha ching" as I look at the dead bodies around me.

Also, the tonics......   I don't hold on to those.  I sell nearly all of them except for a could potent health tonics and the horse revivers.  You can only hold on to so many and these things are frequently on dead bodies I loot, in homes, etc.  It's a waste otherwise as those too bring in some decent cash.  .....it all adds up.

The tonics are also trivial to make if you've learned how, using herbs that you find while hunting, another source of money.  Same for herbivore and predator bait.

Capturing, breaking, and selling horses can also be a source of money, but not much if you take them to the stable as soon as you break them.  Once you've ridden them a little and upped their stats and love, then you get a little more for them.  I'm surprised, however, that you don't get more for horses .. especially given as much trouble as they are to capture, break, and deliver to the stables compared to something like hunting and fishing - I would assume the low money is because of how easy it is to STEAL horses lol.

I've made most of my money by completing bounties and hunting. Made about 1k just by doing those two things.

gold glitch doesn't work anymore, at least on xbox,  tried it yesterday to help pay off my 2 bounties (450 and 400) and could only get 2 bars.  Didn't think it was really worth it so i reloaded my game before then and just took the 1 bar to pay off my $400 bounty in Strawberry, since my favorite hunting at hte moment is just north of Lake Owanjila (sp?).

I hunt and rob lonely people out in my hunting areas for cash. Before the gold bar i got yesterday i had just under 1500 cash.  I think I had in the neighborhood of 1800 after the 100 profit of the gold bar and hunting/robbing last night before i shut down the game for bed.

train robbing gets you big bounties on your head, but last one i robbed got me just over 200 in cash and valuables pretty quickly.  Going to try robbing stores tonight after work, see what i can score there, and how big of bounty i get :)

I don't know if it's just me or not, but I never felt I needed to 'go out and make money.'

This game just doesn't have expensive things that require me to grind money outside of a few treasure maps I hunted down... I even bought 4 horses from stables and still don't have money problems.  I have paid plenty of bounties as well and still have plenty of money.

What is everyone buying with all this money?

Paying off my bounties trying to get the birds from a moving train lol.  $835 just tonight in the almost 2 hours I've been playing.
