HooverRAD
I prefer a female horse. I guess because I'd rather ride something without a big pair of hairy boys.. 1

Diss
The white Arabian that you can get for free, north west of Isabella lake. This is horse is fast, handles really well and ain't afraid of hairy situations. I bonded to level 4 with her and got attacked by 4 wolves and she didn't buck me. She looks really nice too. I bought a horse with better stats than her later in the game but only as insurance in case she got killed.

Kormath
Used the white Arabian from just after game release when i started chapter 2 until a few days ago when i was able to buy the black arabian in St. Denis in chapter 4. Now it's my favorite.

Same. lol I mean I do give them a pat on the back for realism here but when you have to look at the back end of a horse for hours on end, you just don't want to see some grapefruit hanging out. Lajnus
I used the White Arabian for a long, long time. Towards the end of the main storyline I had 4 awesome, fully bonded horses but switched back to Snow White for maximum feels for the ending. The only problem I have with the Arabians is that they're so small, not really a cowboy's horse. During the epilog I've mostly used Buell whom I saved for this and Silfver, my silver Missouri Fox trotter. The best horse in the game stats wise is the Rose Gray Arabian. Small? they're the same size as the quarter horse, one of the most popular breeds of horse in the wild west. Quarter Horse, Morgan and Apaloosa were said to be the most favored in the old west. Arabians were first brought to America in the 18th century, some claim the first one in America was a gift to George Washington. In the US during the wild west they were mostly ridden by the 1%, you didn't see many cowboys on them, so i'll agree there they're not really a cowboy's horse. Kemasus
Black Standardbred. No matter how many horses I have tried the Black Standardbred shines through. Its fast enough but more important, it has a quiet disposition.....great for hunting or just putzing around. Also it falls into the larger class of horses. Jaskier
I really like big war or working horses because their stamina and health is high and they're just look cool. I am currently also thinking about catching the white arabian becasue it's just beautiful but it is a shame it's so tiny

If it was bigger, maybe the size of a Turkoman, it would be the ideal horse.

Besides that, if you've ever ridden a horse for a while, you get sore faster on the bigger ones than riding a smaller horse (or maybe it's just me getting old). Much rather ride an arabian or quarter horse sized than a turkoman for a full day.
Hammer
The Missouri Fox Trotter , Silver Dapple Pinto Mine will walk between Alligators without flinching. My white Arabian was always throwing me and never got use to gunfire.
Mr K
I happened upon RDR2 very early. The gold bar glitch hadn't been updated. Out of curiosity I went back and forth to Limpany to see how much money I could accumulate, I quit at $80,00.00. I stole a Rose Gray Arabian in St. Denis before the upgrade. I've been privileged the whole game. I only ride the Rose Gray (Pea) and stable the Black & White. I've tried all the others but they didn't have the extra spark so I always return to Pea. I find the Arabians a bit high spirited but because of this I believe they warn of danger a bit earlier than some of the other breeds. With the Rose Gray I've outrun many predators, animal and human. I've completed the story and now am finishing up all the loose end's. I find this to be harder than following the story line. dredd1961
Buell. Because of his size and colour. Great all round horse. One of the best in single player.
