Online missions not starting....

Agreed, along with a few other day 1 bugs that still haven't been adressed. For a beta there sure are little efforts shown to improve on basic persistent bugs since day 1. I have achieved my gold buckle for 1000 lvl1 horse bonds by now :D

Jeez, I am getting so tired on riding across the map to an orange mission item, accepting the mission, and then realizing it doesn't even start. Then the NPC doesn't have anything to do. Why hasn't this been fixed?

They likely are working on fixes for it as well as other things. I think it is best to fix a bunch of stuff and update then to update each thing individually. It would be super annoying for players if they fixed something, updated the game, and then the next thing they fixed broke the previously fixed thing. Beta can suck but it will be worth it.

You should send them a complain. The more people do that the more likely it is to get a fix soon:

From what i've figured, the mission is running sometimes and just not visible. Sometimes it helps to wait a few minutes and ride in the direction, that was said to be the missions location. Like if this NPC say From Emerald Ranch you ride over there to spot the wagon running. If you see it and start interacting with it, the mission will start showing to you.

My theory (mainly regarding deliveries) is they won't start if another player or posse are already engaged on one from that location. that defintely happened to me yesterday - my delivery wouldn't start, but I was then able to do so once the previous deliveries had completed. Maybe it's to stop more than one player ending up in the same location at the same time, with a letter to hand to the final resident.

Interesting theory.  🤔 It seems camp placement may also be dependent on others as well which (I believe) is why sometimes it's is set up in a different province than what a player will sometimes select.

That’s probably part of it, but I think it is more than just that.

For instance I had a mission fail just yesterday at the beginning. It handed me the mission, showed me sitting in the cart I was supposed to deliver, then instantly said “MISSION OVER: Your posse has abandoned the mission”.  It closed the mission and the timer (not delayed, cancelled, I was on over an hour after that it never re-started). And, it left me sitting in the cart!

I’m in zero possies currently, shows ‘none’ in my possible list, so obviously I also wasn’t in a possie at the time.  I’m almost entirely a solo player.

I also had another instance where after a mission, like 45 minutes after disbanding, I started getting honor dings. I was hunting, so I know it wasn’t me. I THINK it was, back in Armadillo when I went back, one of the people i was on the mission with (Not possied with) was killing the sheriff over and over.

Conclusion: I think part of this problem is the game is using some kind of temporary ‘grouping’ or ‘possie’ like binding to link players... either after hostile combat, or missions, or whatever... and it isn’t clearing properly many times.  So sometimes, it thinks you are ALREADY ON a mission because someone you are linked to (mistakenly) is on a mission.
