2x xp and Posses

So last night I decided to join a Posse and take advantage of the extra xp.  Yet last night when I would join from the main menu, it would put me in a group, and almost instantly they would change from being friendly to red and they was attacking me.  I tried 3 times before I said the heck with this non-sense.  Never got a message stating I was removed from the Posse, no warning till I was being shot at.  Was anyone else experiencing this?

I had a variation of this where I joined a posse I'm a member of, and one of the players in the posse was labeled as an enemy, eventhough I'd never played with or against him in the past.  It was odd.  I suppose there may be an issue with the grouping system.

This is another way people grief others, they lure them into the posse then they remove them so they can kill. They bring you to them instead of having to chase you down. Another reason why I no longer group with randoms.

It's a mixed bag, to be sure.

One way you can circumvent this is to select mission-based matchmaking.  It will (most likely) place you into a group of goal-oriented players who are looking to do the missions for XP and cash, so the chances of encountering griefers or trolls is reduced because the amount of work required to successfully troll others in a mission is beyond the attention span and/or patience threshold of your average troll.

And every once in a while, you get a group that's mic'd up.  THAT is when it gets fun.

I guess one of the bigger issues I am having with this game is finding a consistent posse.  Usually when on, the ones that I like to roll with aren't always on.  So I use random matchmaking to meet other players.  Some have been cool and others haven't.  I add the cool ones to the list and just try to ignore the others.  Even if my gaming schedule is generally set, others aren't and makes it tougher to meet up to play. 

Edit:  Seeing how I do have some issues with joining clans, that usually comes with too many rules.  I tend to stick with meeting players the old fashion way.

Something else to consider is that there is a known bug where posse invites are not always working.  What people have to resort to is changing the setting on their posse to "open" and then having their friend(s) join that way.  Unfortunately, if folks are in the queue to "posse up" with randoms, they will auto fill the open spots before their friends can jump in.

As for killing people for that, I think that's uncalled for as it's not their fault but I'm sure that is why some posses are being set to open.

It happened to me but it was long before the double XP stuff. I don't join random posses ever. I only join if I know someone in it and they are online.

I thought I'd give it a try tonight, so hit posse up as I started. 

As soon as I sqawned in there was 3 members all walking about next to a lake or river by anneburg or something. 

Anyway. While waiting I started fishing and after about 5 seconds one member quit. 

Next thing everyone is gunned down by the person that quit seconds earlier. 

After that I just quit the posse. 

Last time I'll bother. Especially after I've read on here that it is common aswel.

It sucks cause I have met some cool players in other posses only to be targeted by one of their mates and it just ruins it for me. Some people don't know how to act on public online games.
