RDR2 companion app problems

Question

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

im in the game, load up the companion app and everything except the map are accessible. Under the map icon it says connect to RDR2. I click on it and it in the top box it says my username and paired Xbox one. On the bottom one it says Xbox disconnected, I hit the connect button and it brings me back to square one

The app, yes. I even had rock* support delete my social account so I could start a new one. Very frustrating, feels almost naked not being able to use the app.

My App used to work fine, but doesn't now.

I had huge problems getting it working in the first place, then I read somewhere about using it first time, and being in story mode to link it up, not online. I did that and it connected straight away, and then worked online as well.

I haven;t tried repeating the process yet to see whether that will reconnect me, but it might be worth a try if you haven't yet.

I only used the app a handful of times and it hasn't been for awhile. I know you said you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, have you also checked your phone for updates? Or even tried restarting it (or turning the phone off and on)? Sometimes, happens maybe once every few months, I need to restart my phone because certain apps stop working on me and I don't get my Paypal security texts.

I had that happen too. What phone do you use? Is it a Galaxy by chance? I have an s5 and I swear this thing has been buggy since 2018. Like they want us to upgrade.
