Remove the kick option

Last nitght playing RDR2 online in showdown series mode I was getting pummeled round after round 12 kills 8 deaths barely surviving with a group of players all ranked at least 50 levels above me. We get to the knife round where somehow I miracualosly killed 3 and won the round I was elated. My hard work had payed off. However as soon as we got to the between round load screen they all voted to kick me out. They never spoke on mic so obviously were in group chat. My question is tha fuq? Why is this a feature?

I too have been kicked, purely for the crime of winning.

It makes sense to have the option to kick a disruptive player, but it really hurts to be kicked for just playing the game.  I've learned to live with it, but it still burns when it happens.

Ostensibly to remove griefers from a group.  Especially in "ungrouped" lobbies, the potential for trolling/greifing in Showdown Series matches is very, VERY high, so having a "kick" option is there to prevent these players from ruining a lobby for others.

The flip side is if there's a party in the lobby that wants to make room for friends or other players, they can leverage their voting clout to remove other players, which is what I imagine happened to you, and invite players into the lobby that they want to join them.

R* logic.

It makes sense from a lot of perspectives, but I do think that they need to examine two things:

1. Having Showdown Series lobbies be ungrouped (i.e. no posses or preformed groups joining).  They can't realistically roll this out unless they commit to separate matchmaking lists like they did for Gun Rush (solo Gun Rush, and "Gun Rush-Teams") or they roll out option #2 (which I know you, personally have been advocating for)

2. Private lobbies.  Enabling private lobbies for matchmaking in premade groups or teams eliminates a lot of the bloc voting that happens when one or more large groups start kicking randoms out of Showdown Series playlists just because they want to invite someone else they know into the lobby.

They need a private option similar to friday the 13th the game. I cannot avoid this if people are intent on doing regardless of right/or wrong doing. It is not a game breaker by any stretch of the imagination it is more of a thorn....in my ass. Like how is this the way the team behind a game that was delayed 2x think this was the best option? They had time. They werent rushed. With an indie game I kind of expect stuff like this but R* games are always polished with a ton of money behind them. Its fine Ill man up. I was just curious if this was the "Norm"

I feel you. This is one of those small details in the game that people take advantage of and use the wrong way. I have been kicked for doing better than others. That was the only reason. I am a fair player and I like everyone to enjoy the game so when people like you or me get kicked, it is hardly justifiable.

I've been kicked a couple of times "suddenly and recently" from story missions.  I've chocked it up to saving room for others as I don't grief and generally play well without being too greedy or causing mission failures. So, cant imagine it's personal, but who knows.

My only real complaint is that after being kicked and then trying to rejoin another mission I sometimes crash and have to reboot (PS4) which is annoying.  /shrug

I have had this happen a lot recently. I have stuck to just hunting and messing around for now. I don't know what the deal is with the missions but these aren't working like they should for me.

Most likely, one of their friends got on, so you had to go.  It is just how gamers are now days.  They could have just waited till it was all done or even sent you a message to give you a heads up.

Been there and have had that done to me just recently.   Funniest part was they all added me to their list and one of them invited me to their game over the weekend.  He apologized and gave me some sad excuse about a disconnect being a Rockstar glitch.  I asked if it was a Rockstar glitch, then why did his buddy that joined our chat that he was waiting for, send me a message that said and I quote, "Buh Bye!"  Then his glitch kicks me from the group, where that same friend of his shoots me as soon as I respawn in.

Because sometimes you just wanted get rid of that pre adolescent who comes on the mic squeeking out profanity and racial slurs and trying to act all gangster while his mom is yelling at him in the background to pick up his toys... I mean sure there is mute, but they don’t learn anything that way.

It is a win/lose situation in my opinion. You need to have the kick option, not only to kick players that are verbally aggressive (you can mute those) but to also kick idle players who mess up your team games (e.g. a teammate of yours is idling in game).

But yeah, I see it every time and happens to me quite often (or well, as often as I win a game). The winner gets a vote to kick. It is frustrating, I can also live with that if it happens 2-3 times per session, but if it happens more, I simply vote the lowest ranked player first (since they won't kick him) before they try to kick me.

That works because you can only have 1 vote to kick per lobby, meaning that if you vote a player to be kicked, the other players cannot vote another one. At least that happens when the first player to get voted, does not get kicked. If he does get kicked, I don't know if the players can vote another.
