I like when online games have holiday-themed lobbies and what not so I wouldn't rule it out that they don't do something in the future but like the comment about said, they are still in beta so we might not see anything fancy till everything is done.

You'd think... but In December, the piano players in all the saloons were playing Christmas music. I thought that was a very cool touch!

I’d imagine it’s a lot easier to change up the piano playlist than it is to program a whole parade, drunken crowds partying and topless women (and a fair share of overweight topless men giving them a run for their money in the bust department) in masks on every balcony...

I was going to mention this. That is a minor detail but still a holiday one none the less. 

As for the OP... Was this holiday even established yet? Like in the time frame of the game? I know nothing about it.

Copy and Pasted from Wikipedia. The first Mardi Gras parade held in New Orleans is recorded to have taken place in 1837. In Europe a celebration at this time of year go's all the way back to the Roman Empire.
