I can't get the legendary coyote

So I studied and killed the legendary coyote, I got an update about my compendium, saved and exited the game. The next time I entered the game, the coyote was crushed of the map but it wasn't in my compendium! I can't find it anywhere and it really drives me insane. Is my game just glitched, or did I screw something up with the saving or whatever?

This isn't the only annoying thing that happened in my playthrough. There was a bunch more stuff that made me almost hate the game and I know it's a masterpiece of a game. Is it possible that I got THIS unlucky?

not sure what you mean "crushed of the map"  you mean X'd on the map?  it's a known glitch, happens with legendary fish also.  go back to an earlier save (hopefully you've been manually saving before each of these).

But back to your suggestion, i can't do that because this kinda happened a long time ago so I guess I'm screwed

check the 100% completion list in the compendium, see if if the coyote is marked there.
