Anyone playing Death Stranding?

I don't have a PS4 so I can't play the game but I have had an interest in it since I first heard about it. I started watching a play-through of it and I have to say, they took the whole "zombie" angle and made it a whole hell of a lot better. I don't want to spoil anything though. 

Anyone playing it on here? I am curious to see what others think.

My brother is. He said it looks amazing but the actual gameplay is boring. You have to really enjoy the story or the game will just end up feeling like one of those basic hunt and gather style games which not everyone enjoys.

Yes I'm playing it. I'm a big fan of Hideo Kojima's games. Ever since MGS1. Played most of his MGS games. Really enjoyied MGSV. Remember the controversy and drama with him and Konami's breakup.  So when this game was announced, I was very curious to see what comes of it. The trailers made it look visually stunning and impressive. But what the heck was going on!? What kind of game is this?

I took the plunge and got it. Started playing it last week when it went live. It is weird. It is trippy. It's like being in someone else's dream. I am only a few hours into it. I am enjoying it. Most of my missions have been delivery missions. Where "stuff" happens. Being intentionally vague as to not be spoilery. These missions are oddly relaxing. Before "stuff" happens. It's like hiking in real life, where you try to figure out the best way to go from point A to point B. You can wind up in dangerous terrain if you are too hasty. It's a walking simulator. I know that may sound lame for a game, but it's actually fun. 

When "stuff" happens, it then starts to remind me of being stealthy in MGS games. Very tense. Scary when it goes south. I'm playing on Hard difficulty. It feels like a good challenge. I wanted to see what happens when I didn't get away from one of these encounters. I was able to respawn nearby. But now it looks like there is a ginormous crater where that went down. Hmmm ... I wonder what happens if I lose multiple times? Also, no boss fights yet.

The game has an online component. But is not multiplayer. So things other players do in their world, building objects, can show up in my world. And I can use them to help me out. And vice versa with me building things, that players in their own games can interact with.

I imagine this game is going to split people. Some folks like me are going to really like it. Others are not.

I can see that. It reminds me of harvesting and gathering in other games, like in WOW or Dead Man's Sky. How exciting is that? Not very exciting. But I find that aspect very relaxing.

lol jokes aside, yes I am playing it. Yes, I am loving it. The story is refreshing and breaks away from everything else out there. Too many games are too similar and I am not a fan of that. I like to experience different stories, styles of game play, and different genres. This has buttered my role nicely and will keep me content for at least a few months. I am playing it very slowly.

I am not playing it. Not really my style of game. I heard the story is both fantastic and really, really weird. I saw some memes about it being a delivery service. I will eventually watch a ,montage of all the cut scenes to view the story but I don't feel the need to play it.

After seeing a bit more of the game play, I can see why this kind of game is relaxing. I mean there isn't too much to do outside of the cut scenes but it allows you to just relax and enjoy the story while being a part of it.

Started watching a play-through of it. The story is interesting but I am not sure how long I will continue to watch as there are a lot of very dry patches where not much is happening. I was going to get it on Steam next year but I am undecided now.
