CrabApples
Quote SuperData's latest report shows us that Red Dead Redemption 2's sales more than doubled once it reached Steam, with SuperData's report also shows that Rockstar Games' announcement that it was coming to Steam meant that people held off buying it on the Epic Games Store. The report reads: "Digital unit sales more than doubled from 406K in November to 1.0M in December. The game became available on Steam on December 5, one month after releasing elsewhere including the Epic Games Store and Rockstar Games Launcher. This brief exclusivity window was advertised in advance, so many players simply waited a short period to play the game on their preferred launcher". Given all the complaints and people getting upset with the PC version, they still managed to double the sales because of the game being sold on Steam. If someone said something a few years ago about putting the game on PC being a bad idea and they listened, they would have missed out on TONS of cash. SaulGoodMan
I am shocked it sold so well on Steam. I know a lot of people play games through them but I wasn't expecting that much. Do you know what they sold through Rockstar's launcher before the game came out on Steam?
Jammin Jim
I'm not surprised by this. People were always more likely to buy the game through Steam vs the Rockstar launcher/site. It just makes more sense to do it that way. I know some people through Steam who just buy games to buy them and have them in their collection. gsamson24
It looks like the reviews are on the up and up as far as Steam goes. I guess this is a good thing. Maybe people are getting their issues with the game sorted finally.

Who knows, maybe Rockstar bought them positive reviews LOL
shawn
^ That would be funny if they were paying for positive reviews. Wouldn't be the first time a gaming company has done it I am sure.

Lately, I haven't seen nearly as many complaints though so that is something.
