The Lancaster Varmint Rifle is featured in Red Dead Redemption 2. The weapon is also confirmed for Red Dead Online and it’s one of the three weapons that can be obtained by Gunsmiths free of charge by purchase the Red Dead Redemption 2 Ultimate Edition, the others being the Volcanic Pistol and Pump-action Shotgun.
Due to its .22 calibre, the weapon has Low Power, but this is balanced out by Moderate Range, Reload Speed and Rate of Fire, as well as Very High Accuracy. The ammo capacity is 14, with a maximum ammo limit of 100.
The weapon is perfect for hunting smaller animals, however despite the low calibre it is still dangerous against human opponents. The high rate of fire and large ammo capacity make it great for thinning out large groups of enemies at a distance, and if you are confident in your gunmanship, the high accuracy can be utilized to lay down some headshots while you’re at it.
