Love and Honor
The Love and Honor mission is unlocked right after completing the Honor Among Thieves mission, where you are tasked with meeting three sheriffs. This is likely the last mission unlocked after the Honor Among Thieves mission as it’s located in Tumbleweed, which is the farthest location of the three from Blackwater. This is a mission for 2-4 players.
Tumbleweed is a town that can be found in the Gaptooth Ridge area in New Austin, in the southern part of the map. Here, you will meet with the Tumbleweed sheriff and a man named called Terrence, who is asking for help in saving his kidnapped wife. The sheriff doesn’t seem inclined in helping poor Terrence, as Twin Rocks is out of his jurisdiction, so it’s up to you and your Posse to rescue the woman.
Your Posse will ride automatically toward Twin Rocks and you will regain control of your character near the bandits’ hideout. The fight here will be intense, as there are many enemies to deal with. Always shoot from behind cover and pay special attention to enemies on buildings, as they are equipped with powerful long-range weapons that can deal a lot of damage in a single shot. A good way to deal with the huge number of enemies is to pick them off from afar with a Rifle, before getting into the heat of the action.
When all enemies have been killed, you can find Allison O’Dowd in a building to the left of the hideout. Her reunion with her husband, however, will be far from happy, as the woman wasn’t kidnapped, but she just ran away with her lover, Cliff. At this point, your Posse will have to make a choice: help the couple escape or kill Cliff and return Allison to her husband.
If you decide to help the couple escape, the Honor rating of all members of the Posse will increase. You will also have to defend them and their wagon during their escape. You can follow them on horseback or by hopping on the wagon. There aren’t many attackers on the road, but you will have to make sure neither Allison nor Cliff dies, so stick close to the wagon and kill enemies as soon as they appear. They will do so in waves, so always keep your focus until the final cutscene plays, where the couple will thank your Posse and give you a reward.
If you decide to kill Cliff and hand Allison back to her husband, the Honor rating for all of your Posse members will drop. Like for the previous choice, you will still have to fight on your way back to Tumbleweed. Ride hard and kill enemies as quickly as possible. Once back in the New Austin town, you will give Terrence his wife back and complete the mission.
Where Your Morals Lead You
The Where Your Morals Lead You mission becomes available after completing The Right Side of the Tracks, If The Hat Fits and the Love and Honor missions. As this mission can be completed more easily by performing stealth kills, getting a silent weapon helps a lot, with the Bow being the best choice. This is a mission for 2-4 players.
To start the mission, you will have to talk with Horley in Blackwater. Here, he will tell you to meet with Marshal Tom Davies, who is located to the west of the city near Manzanita Post.
The Marshal will inform your Posse that there is a band of killers near Tall Trees, led by a dangerous man named Alfredo Montez. While this band’s crimes are known to the law, including the killing of a family in the area, he cannot go after them without evidence. As he cannot get involved directly in obtaining the evidence, he will ask your Posse to take Alfredo Montez out.
One thing the Marshal can do, however, is lead you to the bandits’ hideout. Along the road, you will be introduced to Lee, who has tracked down Montez and will serve as your Posse’s guide. Once the introductions are done, it’s time to follow Lee into the woods.
At this point, you can decide to take a stealth approach or go all out. You will meet some guards patrolling the area that you can either kill or let go. Killing enemies with a silent weapon will prevent reinforcements from coming to your current location, making your life easier. You will have to deal with a few more patrols on the way – they can be dealt with in the same way as the first one.
After dealing with the final patrol, you will finally get to Montez’s camp near Aurora Basin. There will be a lot of enemies to fight here, so avoid getting too close to the center of the camp and pick enemies off from afar with a Repeater or Rifle. Once all enemies have been killed, Lee will identify Montez and you will be able to get back to Manzanita Post.
On the way back to Marshal Davies, however, you will be attacked by more Montez’s men. Once they have been dealt with, you can finally go back to Manzanita Post, where the Marshal will confirm that you have killed the wrong Montez, as the dead man is actually his brother. Davies will then inform you that he is heading to the Van Horn Trading Post to follow another lead on Alfredo.
Highly Illegal and Highly Moral
The Highly Illegal and Highly Moral mission is unlocked after completing the Where Your Morals Lead You mission. Your Posse must head to an area close to the Van Horn Trading Post to help Marshal Davies kill the real Alfredo Montez. This is a mission for 2-4 players.
At the beginning of the mission, you will reunite with the Marshal and make the acquaintance of Josie Dawson, a Van Horn bartender. It seems like Alfonso has heard of the death of his brother, and is now out for vengeance. Several members of his band have holed themselves up in the saloon owned by Josie and reinforcements are coming to Van Horn from a camp to the north of the town. The location of Alfredo is unknown, so he could be either hiding in the saloon or riding with reinforcements from the camp in the north.
At this point, you can either head to the Van Horn saloon or to the camp to the north. The saloon is the closest to your location, so we shall head there first.
Once in Van Horn, you will see how the whole town has been overrun by Montez’s men. You can either choose to be stealthy, which is preferred, or go all in guns blazing. No matter what you do, you need to follow Mantez’s lieutenant, who will reveal that the man himself has not yet arrived in Van Horn. After learning of Montez’s location, you can kill all of the enemies in the town.
After this is done, you can head to the camp to the north. Here, you will also find the lieutenant if you let him escape from Van Horn. No matter what, you will learn that Montez’s is not at the camp either, so kill all the enemies and head back to Marshal Davies.
The Marshal will inform your Posse that the bandit was recently seen in a caravan nearby. Follow the Marshal to reach it and start a gunfight. Multiple caravans will come at you, so dispatch them as quickly as possible. Once the final one has been taken care of, you will be face to face with Alfredo Montez himself. He will try to make his escape, so equip the Lasso and hogtie him. Put him on your horse, head to the marked location on the map to let Davies take him into custody and receive a nice reward.
Once you are done with Montez, you will receive a message from Horley asking you to head back to New Austin.
Kill Them, Each and Every One
The Kill Them, Each and Every One mission is unlocked after completing the Highly Illegal and Highly Moral mission. This is a mission for 2-4 players.
Once you are done with the previous mission, you need to get to Cholla Springs, New Austin to speak with Horley. Together with the man, you will also find Mrs LeClerk, who intends to go after Teddie Brown, the man she believes killed her husband. Apparently, Brown and his gang are holed up inside Fort Mercer, and several marshals are besieging the fort in the attempt to capture or kill the man.
After a bit of negotiation, Horley manages to convince Mrs LeClerk to let your Posse go to Fort Mercer in her stead.
After reaching Fort Mercer you will be informed that many have already died during the siege of the fort. Not wasting any more time, Horley will provide body armor for you and the members of your Posse to help you approach the fort undamaged. Sadly, this body armor slows your movement down considerably, so you need to move from cover to cover to avoid getting damaged by enemies.
Right before Fort Mercer’s entrance, you will find two cannons. Use one of them to clear the entrance and kill as many enemies as possible before proceeding inside. There are a lot of enemies here, so getting a positional advantage by going up on the fort’s second floor will help you quite a bit. Once all enemies have been killed, Teddie Brown will finally appear, alongside reinforcements. Focus your fire on him, as the battle will end once he has been damaged enough.
At this point, Mrs LeClerk will arrive and will exchange some heated words with the outlaw. Once she learns the truth about her husband’s death, she will put Brown out of his misery herself. Horley will then hand you a reward and inform you that, for the time being, there is no more need for your services.
He will eventually get in touch with you again, as required.
