  1. I have an old 1080p LG tv and i have de-judder and de-blur set to maximum. I can not use the game setting as the de- judder and de- blur are not available. I use those settings to remove low to moderate camera motion blur. The amount of artifacts around the characters vary in games i have played. Using the same LG tv hooked to my PS3 and i used the Game setting as camera motion blur is not noticeable on most last gen games i played. Without the settings i use to remove the motion blur i would be unanable to play RDR2 and other current gen games. Depth of field effects is another effect that is causing lots of blur while in 3rd person camera. Dof, like motion blur, has no off option provided. So at 27% and in chapter 2 i have put RDR2 on hold as i wait for R* to add an off option to dof.
  2. Downloaded 1.05 and played looking for an added option to disable depth of field effects. I found that there is still no option to disable the dof effects that causes the out of focus blur while in 3rd person. The dof blur is present in 3rd person but not in 1st person. The effect is easy to see by switching from 1st to 3rd and back to 1st. Pick a scene that looks blurry like interiors. Then switch from 3rd person to 1st person and watch the image go from blurry to not blurry. This weird dof effect in 3rd person i believe to be the prime cause of blur complaints not related to hdr and camera motion blur.
  3. Well i have found a limited fix for the dof blur. The real fix is an option to turn dof off. Playing either in first person camera or 3rd person while constantly aiming a handgun removes the dof blur. This fix is easy to reproduce in interiors day or night. Outside at night is also effected by dof. With Morgan standing in an interior switch between 1st person and 3rd person. Now switch between aiming and not aiming while in 3rd and 1st person views. 1st person remains sharp if aiming or not aiming while 3r person is only sharp when aiming. See how it goes between blurry and not blurry? That's depth of field effects. Dof? We don't need/ want no stinking dof.
  4. I just did my first post patch play on my PRO 1080p tv combo with no hdr and supersampling off. I found no fix to the blur that i believe is caused by depth of field effects. Interiors in Valentine are still blurry. Outside at night is still blurry. The sky day or night is still blurry. The fix for the blur is simple. Turning dof off will remove the out of focus depth of field blur. I will never ever never ever understand why some game makers use dof effects. An option to turn off dof should be in the setting of RDR2 like there is with GTA5 on current gen consoles. An off option for camera motion blur is also needed for RDR2.
  5. My setup is PS4 Pro, 43" 1080p non hdr tv, boost off, supersampling off, disc copy and version 1.02. RDR2 at times looks great in various locations and with smooth frame rates in Valentine and Saint-Denis. However there is also lots of times with various amounts of blur and out of focus look. This more than 4K checkerboarding problems as all systems are experiencing blur issues. I believe this game is presented as intended. R* went big for realism and the graphic effects are part of that. The problem is that R* may think it is pretty and Oscar worthy while lots of squinting gamers hate the look Many gamers, like myself, hate anything that adds blur and washed out colors to a game. The fix is to provide setting options to disable effects like dof, camera blur , and god rays.
