The people who replyed to your post don't know what there talking about. RDR2 is gonna be a prequel to RDR1 its about John Marstons old life when he rode in Dutchs gang. My opinion yes play the first one so your not lost when you play the new one. If you have ps4 make a ps now account and play it for free or if you have xbox buy it at a store for like 10 bucks.
