Yes I tried holding the button down and hitting the button repeatedly the candle just lifts half way then stops

When Arthur try's to escape from the cellar and needs to cauterize the wound I can lift the candle but when I push button A nothing happens, even when I use the keyboard the same result so I'm stuck and after 3 goes you don't get the skip option either
