Dude I had that happen with the fox, hit it with an arrow in head and was tracking it but lost it from eagle eye and next thing you know there was an X. Reloaded and its totally gone. Ive heard the pelt shows up at trappers and the other items at the fence but im curious if thatll count as skinning it in the compendium

Hey guys so I hunted and injured the legendary Fox but ended up losing it after not paying attention to tracking. When i checked the map the icon told me it died so i tried to reload a save to get back to it being alive to find it but the save was after it had died and now I can't find a body. Everything I read states that the pelt will make its way to the trapper and the fence but a question i also have is what about the book that tracks the animals? Right now it is stuck at 66% because I didn't skin it and I'm wondering if itll reach 100% whenever the goods make it to the trapper/fence.
