Looks like Just Cause 4 os another game with annoying blur but that case is making much more waves than the blur in RDR2.

Yeah no change. I’m going to try out the online later to see if it’s present there as well.

They really made a lot of irritating artistic decisions in this game. The bottom of the screen is tinted darker than the rest of the screen to emulate “realistic” peripheral vision. So damn distracting.

Yeah I’m actually really surprised there’s not a pre-holiday patch considering the camp bug.

Who ever green lit the “artistic” use of blur to show realistic depth of field probably had no knowledge of the awful upscaling on the PS4 Pro version. I noticed something yesterday when watching tv. Depth of field happens on live action due to the focusing of the cameras. I don’t know anything about filming but I would say that the the focusing of one object or person is due to a combination of artistic decisions and limitations of the camera. Which makes me question who the heck thought emulating this limitation into a video game was a good idea!?!?!? hope they give the option to turn it off as it just looks weird and out of place in a video game.

Yeah I noticed this as well. The game looks crisp without the out of focus look. But I wish I didn’t have to downgrade the resolution to 1080p. It’s a trade off.

Just loaded mine up after the reinstall. Meh, minimal improvement. Everything still fuzzy and looks out of focus. It’s crazy, it’s like I am not wearing my glasses while playing this game and I know it’s not me as I have corrected vision.

I’m going to try as well. Without giving away spoilers, im on a mission where there’s a gun fight at night in the rain. Keep getting killed because the blur is so bad and for some reason they decided to add dust effects in addition to the rain which makes no sense.

Didn’t have the time last night unfortunately. Apprehensive to try too since it means losing all progress. I might try today.

Since I think it requires a total data deletion for RDR2, people are probably apprehensive. I might try it since my game was bugged by the missing gang members glitch.

Yeah, even the RDR reddit has zero mention of the issue. Just stupid memes. Seems people might just be ignoring it. Haven’t played in days. Might give it a chance tonight.

I wonder what this would require. Only way I can think of is with a physical copy and deletion of all RDR2 data, then start it without being connected to the internet.

Any possible truth to this claim? I’m not near my PS4 so I can’t check what software version it is.

Anyone who doubts the overly aggressive amount of blur can see for themselves like this: -note image quality while in game -press the share button -note that when the share button is pressed, the detail in the foreground and background increases. This is especially noticeable during cutscenes. im starting to think the ridiculous amount of blur was an artistic decision. Why otherwise blur a sharp looking game?
