"Unfinished" seems to be quite a rush term. My main beef is with the lack of information - I've personally been waiting for this game for ages (like a kid indeed) and I would have bought the One X initially if the differences between versions were outlined better. Again if it is a temporary issue, I'd love to have had better responses from support on account on what's being looked into and what's not, ETA for possible updates etc.

Bit the same bullet with a One X, mate. Now I'm broke, sad and amazed at the same time. Reporting to all you folks - somehow it is a completely different game that we as Pro users were robbed of (at least for now). Been whining about recent Pro exclusives (particularly God of War) looking significantly better, however now I can safely say that RDR 2 is one the best looking games I've seen easily on par with GoW graphically and a lot better with down-to-life and realistic lighting/effects/environments. Same 4k non-HDR display with the same settings I've used for my Pro, haven't touched a single slider. Eye-squinting pixel-hunting instead of actual hunting is no more. After the first weekend with the game I've been waiting for so much time I didn't play for two weeks patiently waiting. Now I'm playing at even slower pace because of how detailed and beautiful everything is. Back in 2010 I've owned the game on my 360 and I've also played the PS3 version and the differences were in no way THIS noticeable. However, it would be great if in addition to the 'Xbox One X Enhanced' label on the xbox disc, R* would care to put a similar message on the PS counterpart, like "here are some outfits and missions to make up for playing and inferior version of the game". Transferring some of the blame to Sony and holding with the trade of my Pro until at least the first patch, considering how they position the PS4 Pro as a competitor. In the current state of the Pro version - this is not a case for RDR2.

Aside from all the fools saying that the game looks great, I'm with you bro, but you need to chill. 1) Even though everyone can call me a western fanboy, the game IS 2 heads above anything else on market in terms of immersion and world-building. Given a non-fantasy setting - building a coherent, believable and functioning world like this one required a massive effort and apart from fortnite/cod people, I think everyone enjoyed it greatly. No offense, but I've seen people complaining about the hard controls/long animations/"unnecessary" interactions and stuff and as this is interwebs I can freely assume these "R* fans" have only seen GTA online, which I haven't touched with a stick. 2) Graphically RDR2 DOES look sub-par comparing with exclusive PS4 titles. I believe, everyone with >80% functioning eyesight + slight experience in PS4 Pro gaming can say that. I'm waiting for the first patch to jump to any conclusions. Going to call bullsh*t on your posts concerning outsourcing ANY patches to small teams in some of the previous posts) Depending on the scale of the project, the time/money cost of such actions can prove virtually impossible. Saying that any small team can improve the 8 year work of 1k+ developers in 2 weeks is incompetent. Other than that, this is Rockstar's magnum opus for now and if they decide to do NOTHING on the PS4 Pro issues our community has reported, I expect nothing less than mass refunds/claims, myself included. The whole article is Strange with a capital S. I've learn't to only pay attention to official R* statements.

Got any space on that fence for me to sit on?) Haven't been into gaming much from the long-gone 2013 I think. But as a huge fan of the original RDR and westerns overall, I just couldn't pass this one. Got a Pro, started playing Uncharted/God of War and I must say - I REALLY enjoyed the experience. However, with RDR 2 being the main reason for getting back into all this stuff, I'll have to either trade or plan my budget to get One X later. Damn, if I trade - I won't know what happens to Kratos... Either way, I think we should all go to Winchester, have a pint, wait for at least the first patch and choose sides from there.

Well, as long as the horse's vision is less blurry - I'm in))

Yup, I kind of understand that support team CAN be uninformed on account of patch ETA/changes we should expect (or they cannot disclose them for some reasons). R* has rarely disappointed but with so much fuss we made, I think we deserve to know at least if the Pro version's visuals are being looked into. Or you know, an official statement like "go trade back your pony-box and buy the superior Microsoft sh*tbox to truly experience the game". Won't point fingers but I know some people who would do just that if it's the case)

Made me feel like a graphics-wh*re right here) With One X version in one hand and some of the recent PS titles on the Pro in the other (+ heavy advertisement) - we've got to have a better 'middle' deal. *Again I'm talking 4k display experience here - you get used to some quality level and taking to account the phenomenal detail in every aspect of RDR2, the graphics are currently really underwhelming.

With you on this one lads. Neither playing the game nor joining the One X gang until at least the first patch (thank God for all the work that has piled up in the recent days, for as a western fan I got a serious itch to return to RDR 2 one way or the other). 1) Game IS a masterpiece in most departments. 2) While absolutely 'weaker' than One X, Pros still have great-looking games. 3) Remember when we started to get real bits and pieces of info about the game that was in development for many years. R* sure is a secretive bunch (may not do them as much good now, when RDR2 is already out) - while support is absolutely unhelpful, I kinda feel for them as they may be in the dark on account of what the devs are actually doing. Stay strong!

Fancy. Arthur McGregor?)

Color me interested on this one. Now only my wallet is confusedly looking at me and awaiting my decision)
-
What's not nice is there's absolutely no info from R* on account of the possible patch: no ETA, no details of what has to be expected (particularly for Pro users). Should we all just buy One Xs and boost their sales even more?) As a fella here said I won't go for it just because of the controller.
-
That's it. Back to half-finished God of War for me. Feeling like it's a crime to force myself to play a potential game of the year (number one in my opinion). I hope R* will come up with a solution to make one of the best looking games on One X closer to this status for us ponies.

I've also messed a bit with LG monitor's 'super-resolution+' setting I've never touched previously. Sharpened the image (particularly mid-long distance grass/foliage), however after looking at the screen for some time after cranking it to highest available setting, I think it's going to be braille version of RDR for me if I decide to play like this for 2-3 hours.
-
Don't mention this to R* support. Otherwise, aside of the usual check HDMI/turn off HDR/restart/dance with wolf's skull you'll also get a suggestion that the blur is actually our eyesight getting worse with age) On a serious note tho, I've booted the game yesterday to run a check - at dusk game-time I saved a screenshot using the 'Share' option and the image became a lot better - got to read distant street signs and overall detail has slightly changed. Weird thing is - opening a saved screenshot had the level of detail of the original game (before pressing 'Share').

Amazing how the game is taking us places, people. These forums, support portals, now we're f&!ing tweeting)) Starting to feel like I'll end up with Instagram and Tinder accounts until the patch is announced.

Do we have some video capture options on the device itself? Sry for the stupid question, have never used 'Share' stuff before.

So as a patient sumbich I am, yesterday I've used the 'web ticket' option on R* support, hoping that it could provide some more meaningful information. Along with describing the situation I've specifically asked if there is any information on what exactly the team is working on for the upcoming patch to address this as well as possible estimates on when we can expect the update. Unfortunately my ticket was closed by support with the following write-up: Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support. I understand that you are facing issues with Red Dead Redemption II picture quality and graphics. I am happy to assist you regarding this issue. I request you to please follow the below mentioned steps to resolve this issue. PlayStation 4 Pro: If your display supports HDR, you will see “Supported” under the HDR label. How to Enable HDR on your TV: Step 1: Check the owner’s manual of for your TV, to find the proper HDMI port that supports HDR content (This varies by manufacturer). Step 2: Using a Premium HDMI cable, connect the PS4 to the to the proper HDMI-HDR port on the TV. The PS4 must be connected directly from the PS4 to the TV to output HDR and not through a receiver or switch box. Step 3: Access the TV settings and make sure that the TV’s HDMI ports are set to enable HDR content. TV manufacturers refer to HDR in a number of different ways: High Dynamic Range (HDR) Wide Color Mode HDMI Enhanced Mode UHD Color Mode Ultra HD Premium Ultra HD deep color How to Enable HDR on PS4 Step 1: Go to Settings. Step 2: Select Sound and Screen > Video Output Settings. Step 3: Select HDR, and check Automatic. Step 4: Go back to Video Output Settings > Deep Color Output, and check Automatic. On the Game and Streaming Side From the game's options screen, make sure you enable HDR content. If your issue still persists, please let us know. Best Regards, -------- Seems to be one of the generic responses they use as I've clearly described the setup as 'PS4 Pro + 4k non-HDR display'. Guess I'll have to (im)patiently wait for any patch announcements.

This! I believe there HAS to be a better deal considering how RDR2 looks on One X and how other games look on on the Pro - never had any beef with checkerboarding as the games looked absolutely gorgeous.

*Pro + 27 inch 4k non-hdr LG monitor here

Glad I found you guys, thought I was turning into a master-race graphic whore) Wrote up to R* support recently with a similar issue, will post here if answered with something interesting. I can't help but start squinting and get eye strain after some time (yup, I'm getting old but still recent God of War sessions were longer and didn't have any side effects). I mean, come on - with flawless One X version in one hand and a handful of titles (like God of War/Uncharted 4 I've been playing recently) in another there must be something better for us Pro owners. Yes, I do understand that we may not get the SAME quality as One X 'cause of simple raw power, but something needs to be done.
