Like many other animals and their skins in Red Dead Redemption 2, beaver pelt is one of the materials used to craft essential items in the game. This guide will walk you through the process of acquiring the perfect beaver pelt in Red Dead Redemption 2, the best location to find beavers, and what you can craft with beaver pelt.
What is the Beaver Pelt used for?
Beaver pelt is used to craft various items in the game, such as clothing, accessories, and even camp upgrades. For example, it is used as one of the materials to craft a Valuables Satchel.
Perfect Beaver Pelt Location
There are several locations where you can find beavers. However, some are better than others and will spawn perfect beavers a lot more consistently. The following are the best locations to find the perfect beaver.
Owanjila Lake
Owanjila Lake is the best place to find beavers as it spawns several of them in a batch. If you look around the western shore of the lake, you will usually find two to three beavers. We found two perfect beavers.
Upper Montana River
Following the Upper Montana River directly south of Owanjila Lake, you will find more beavers along the river bank. Once again, we managed to find two perfect beavers here.
Huron Glen
This beaver spot is located near Huron Glen in the New Hanover region. Its located southeast of Elysian Pool and west of the Van Horn Trading Post. This is a well-known beaver hangout spot and is considered one of the best in the game since it is also the location of the legendary beaver.
Weapon for Perfect Pelt
In Red Dead Redemption 2, bagging the perfect pelt requires the right weapon. For smaller animals, it is best to use a Varmint Rifle or a Bow with regular arrows, and the same applies to beavers. You can get a perfect pelt by killing a three star beaver using the Varmint Rifle or a Bow with regular arrows.
Just remember, aim for the head. Any other shot risks damaging the pelt and turning it into a lesser quality one.
