Earlier this week we learned that Rockstar Games is working on rebalancing the Red Dead Online economy as well as fixing some of the game's persistent bugs. They had hoped the update would go live on both the PS4 and Xbox One by the end of this week, but it looks like things have progressed better than expected.

Rockstar has officially confirmed that the first Red Dead Online update will be rolled out later today. Following the update, the cash and gold payments across a number of different activities including Free Roam Missions, Free Roam Events, replays of A Land of Opportunities Missions, Showdown Series modes and more will be increased. Values of select pelts, skins, fish, Horse Reviver and pamphlets are also getting balanced - we will need to wait and see what this means exactly.
Prices of most weapons in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co Catalogue and Gunsmiths will also be reduced and, if you have purchased anything from these stores in the past week, the difference between the old and new cost will be deposited automatically, so expect to have some extra cash to spend very soon. Refunds will take up to December 10th to be handed out, so you may have to wait a few days to get some money back.
The good news doesn't end here today. Rockstar Games has also confirmed that every player who has played the Red Dead Online beta up until today at midnight PST will receive $250 and 15 Gold Bars for free. Gifts will start arriving today and they will hit all eligible players by next Friday, December 14th. This is something that we are certain is going to be very welcome in the Red Dead Online community!
With the economy getting rebalanced. Red Dead Online is sure to become more enjoyable for all. If you want to learn more about the online component of Red Dead Redemption 2, you can check out our many in-depth guides that will teach you everything there is to know.
